    Great info, just quick correction.. Tylenol is not a blood thinner.. just so everyone knows. It is safe to take prior to any surgery..that’s the only medication you can take prior to any procedure
    I am a physician assistant so I thought I should correct it for anyone watching
    thanks for the video

    Thanks for your honesty & thoroughness. I'm entering week four of my recovery from breast reconstruction flap surgery due to a double mastectomy I had 3 yrs. ago. I feel so lucky after hearing you as I didn't have half the trouble, issues, pain, etc. that you suffered. I'm 71 but very active & healthy. I went from a size 16 to a 12 instantly! The big issue for me was the overwhelming tiredness but that's finally getting so much better. Thanks again!

    Had a no drain TT with breast lift and augmentation. I drove myself to the post-op appt the next day and walked .75 miles that day. Have narco & muscle relaxers, use them sparingly. I’m 5 days out and doing great! This a very good video. I totally agree with the back pain & recliner!!! After 3 c-sections and now this TT... my best advice to all is WALK, then walk some more and then more! The walking gets your muscles warm. Gets oxygen to them to promote healing. Helps with the stiffness. Walk!!!

      Damn girl!!!! I am so shocked! I just had mine earlier today, and I tried to get up just to walk for a few minutes, i was in so much pain my heart rate shot up to over 100, my arms started burning and i lost my hearing for about a minute! My body went into total shock. 😩

    I just got my approval for full abdominoplasty this past Friday. I do have some weight I want to loose but I plan to schedule it for November 2020.
    I’ve been researching this for years and finally decided to do it so I am working on getting it all done in like 9 months.
    But I’m so excited

    Thanks for this video and agree with most of your recommendations. I am 2 weeks post op today from my mommy makeover. I would say I didn’t need a walker but back pain is no joke and I was super strong before the surgery as I lost 50lbs before making the decision to get rid of the loose skin. My surgery included a tummy tuck with feathering liposuction and a breast augmentation no lift needed

    Thank you for sharing your journey. I am scheduled to have my TT is June. My first son was a complicated pregnancy and I gained over 80 pounds. It took me a year to lose it all. So I guess since that point I knew I wanted to do something about the skin. Unless people have been there, they don't understand how much it hits your self esteem. I am debating sharing my story.

    I undergone my breast augmentation through a board certified plastic surgeon in which "no drains" practice was one of many differences
    that was great and a pain free recovery due to other practices and my plastic surgeon in addition to others in my area (Oakland County MI )
    also perform the drain free tummy tuck. The BCPS on his Straith clinic website provides great explanation on how it's performed and effective. Heard drains are painful and seems from the 80s. I will be purchasing a walker and recliner! Thank you, genius!

    Applause to you for following your heart. I wanted all my stretch marks and flabby tummy surgery but I had breast cancer and so I have one small breast and the other larger breast is saggy now and no cancer on that side. Then last year Roxanne, I had another cancer in one lung. So I had a tumor taken out. It was very painful. My plastic surgery was postponed again! Three months later in October of last year, I slipped on a plastic garbage bag in my kitchen and literally crushed my left hip and had to have a total hip replacement surgery! So here I am with scars everywhere. So girl, I know how you feel! Kudos to you! You’re going to be so happy down the road a bit! My husband passed away this year in April, so I’ve had a rough year this year!😪😢😢. I would love to get cosmetic surgery but my sisters say Why would you do that!!!!!! So I’ve told my story to you now😆😝😆😝. Love to you sweetie!!! Sorry this is hard to understand. I feel like if I told the whole story, it’s easier to understand. But writing it, it’s kind of difficult to write all the details out in just a short little story.

    I used exparell during my tummy tuck surgery for pain. It was the best decision I could've made. It cost an additional $400, but well worth it. I also took pain pills post-op. I can't imagine how much more painful my post-op without the exparell.

    My advice: rent a lift recliner chair. It helps you get up, because getting up hurts like hell. Contact Sina at “Andrasina” skin care and order relief ointment (1-800-get-Sina). After your incision closes you start using the relief ointment everyday and your scars will just about disappear. I remember thinking “what the hell did I do” it FN hurts. Ten years later my stomach is still flat as it was after my surgery.

    I am debating on scheduling my tummy tuck and lipo. I’m 107 pounds. I just have torn muscles and loose skin. But now I’m really nervous lol but I had my boobs done last year. I went fairly large and I didn’t make any pain meds. I have a higher tolerance. So I’m hoping I can push through it.

      @KelsiVinson  5 лет назад

      KatieDeRouen I have a high pain tolerance too but I was not expecting it to be this bad. It may be because I’m so active so I was extremely limited as well. But those first 3 days were phewwwww..... I definitely recommend it though and I’m so happy I did it!!

    What kind of medical health issues can not make you a candidate for a tummy tuck? And does varicose vains, spider veins post any risk in not being able to get a tummy tuck?

    do you think that your scar healed better because you didn't shower too. ?? My second bowel resection... same open type stomach operation ....I got got a really bad infection...a hole in the belly button.... I was laid up for three months....and I still think it was the fact that I showered the day after surgery! ,there was no one to tell me "no" don't shower l!!! Im going to go with your advise on this Kelsi... and stay out of that shower as long as I can.... ..until the drains come out. Thank you !!!

      Water is not sterile and full of germs. You have an opening in your body and your pour that water on it..... it will cause an infection.

    Hi there just came across your Video and wondered if you had a breast lift and implant as well as a TT? I'm considering a TT no lipo and no muscle repair and a breast lift with small implant. The clinic I'm in contact with recommended I do it in 2 stages but another doctor told me he could do it all in one day! I'm not sure the reason why there's a difference in opinion. I was thinking if I do it all at once it's one recovery and much cheaper, im confused any advice or questions I should ask? Thanks

    Why did you get a tummy tuck versus just Lipo? I've been thinking of having Lipo done, but wondering if I would consider a tummy tuck.

    • @KelsiVinson
      @KelsiVinson  7 лет назад +3

      You need to do more research. Tummy tuck and lipo are two completely different things. Tummy tuck is removing loose skin from weight loss. Liposuction is when you have a small area of fat you want to remove (5-10 lbs only) but does not include removing or tightening skin. Neither are to be used for weightloss either.

    • @ton3016
      @ton3016 7 лет назад

      Kelsi Vinson yeah, hoping to get a consult which is like $75. When I get time outside of work. I have a tummy. It makes me not confident and gets in the way of things. Lord, you are lucky you were able to take off 3 or 4 weeks! My employer would probably fire me for that.

    • @KelsiVinson
      @KelsiVinson  7 лет назад +1

      Well actually im a teacher and automatically had 2 weeks off for christmas break and only had to take off one additional. My surgery job brought in another tech for just a couple cases so it was very easy. When you say tummy, is it due to weight or is it just loose skin from kids?

    • @muffibuns6910

      Kelsi Vinson so you had done both tummy tuck and lipo? I thought tummy tuck included muscle tighting and everything😫 obviously I don't want just remove skin and the stubborn fat still there😧

    I have a tummy tuck scheduled but the plastic surgeon wants to do major lipo before and then I will wait for 3 months for healing and losing more weight then have my skin removal. I'm so scared of a blood clot are those Normal?.. and how can I prevent those?

    • @candyloveson3883
      @candyloveson3883 7 лет назад +1

      I'm no doctor, but I think blood cot are normal IF, buy you must moving around in order to prevent them keep stress levels low or none at all and also move around often. Even giving birth you run the chance of blood clot so just talk to your doctors about your concerns there's and you will be fine

    • @KelsiVinson

      Honey Valentino blood clots can happen yes but as long as you walk and do as the surgeon tells you, you will be fine! Don't stress. Also massaging helps

    You said you work in medical field, I have a question for you. I am flying to my surgeon to get my tummy tuck, my Doctor said I could go home after 3 day follow up. He said I could come back to get my drains removed or I can look for someone in my area to remove my drains. He said drains could be 7 to 10 days to be removed.
    Where can I get drains taken out? Private office or Hospitsl or regular family doctor ? I have kaiser, not sure if they would do it. For me to drive to doctor it's 7-8 hour drive or a 1 hour flight, doctor said maybe flying might not be the best due to security and sitting and standing so much. I'm driving back home after surgery not flying

    Have you heard if it’s comparable to a csection? Worse than one? When I had a csection it hurt so soo bad to laugh, even worse to cough, and a sneeze would have probably equaled instant death lol. I always said I didn’t realize how much I used those muscles until I had a csection.

    • @KelsiVinson
      @KelsiVinson  5 лет назад +1

      queenjazz1 I believe worse because the cut is much bigger on the skin and the amount of muscle worked on is much greater!

    • @WildBison74
      @WildBison74 5 лет назад

      True because they repair the ab muscles too! Didn’t think of that! Thanks for the reply.

    • @KelsiVinson
      @KelsiVinson  5 лет назад

      Janie Molina I’m not sure if you e had a tummy tuck with muscle repair....I have done several c sections in my career as a surgical first assistant. We actual cut MORE of the muscle.... it’s not superficial at all. The muscle repair is also longer than a csection. Moving organs around mean nothing....you actually can’t feel that afterwards...the soreness you actually feel is from the muscle and tissue being manipulated. So no it’s not a no brainer. The incision itself is also bigger than a csection and all but one layer short of stitches also.... that one extra layer being the uterus itself from the csection.

    • @KelsiVinson
      @KelsiVinson  5 лет назад

      Janie Molina I cant believe I’m replying to this ignorance right now.... I’ve done both surgeries personally. I’ve had a tummy tuck yes. I’m not a “know it all” but I’ve done more of this surgery than you have for sure and the information your giving is completely wrong....both scientifically and medically. I didn’t go through years of medical training to not know my job. My job is to know everything about my patient, their anatomy, and to ensure not only their safety but that there are no issues with their surgery before , during, and after. There are also plenty of women who have had both who disagree with you and believe the tummy tuck was in fact worse. A lot of time it comes down to the person and their pain tolerance. If YOUR csection was worse than your tuck, then ok. But your answer isn’t that for everyone.

    • @KelsiVinson
      @KelsiVinson  5 лет назад

      Janie Molina still your opinion 👍🏼
