Having been a construction worker, mostly building bridges i have seen or used a couple of these machines. They are amazing to watch! The first time i saw jersey walls built with a machine i was blown away! Of course we still had to do all the rod busting first. My late husband was a stone mason. I'm sure he would be amazed too
You don't truly appreciate what a Pain in the foot🦶rod-busting is until you do it for an 80+ storey tall office/condo tower. Great cure for fallen arches in your feet though. 😂😂🤣

The Tiger stone is really great to watch. It also doesn’t look like too hard of a job to do. The pothole drone is really cool and high tech. Thank you Be Amazed for another informative video. I really enjoy finding out about different things that are used to help make our roads, bridges, etc so much safer and done in less time than they were initially used to be built.

@Bad Cattitude If the economics are smart mass automation is a really bad idea if the people who got laid off can't find work after the fact because then there just draining money from the government because of unemployment benefits. Plus that doesn't take into account the fact their income just jumped out the wind which means they would naturally spend less money which would cause damage to the local economies of the area. This type of thing has happened before in the industry sector on smaller scales but it is a major thing that must be addressed sooner rather than later by the Government and economic sectors.

Yep wireless charging sounds good doesn't it ! Hmm... I've been around for about 67 years now ! Can any of you guess what I have seen a lot of in length of time ? Well here it is massive power outages in all seasons of the years ! Heck just the first part this year Texas lost power over most of the state ! Sure some power was generated by fossil fuels , some was wind generated and even solar generated ! But the end result was still total power loss ! Until they figure out to store all of power needed to do this kind of stuff it better stay on the drawing board ! Just saying
@@steveclark4291 Texas screwed itself by poorly maintaining and investing in their grid and double dip screwed themselves by being arrogant enough to think they had no need to be connected to the national grid. The point of such a grid is literally for those kind of situations.

My first job was paving roads at 17, it's a great job, but when it comes to summer the heat can be dangerous
6:05 I think the main problem with this ETI, is that it easily rolls you back into the lanes of traffic and could cause more unnecessary accidents. Maybe, if it was somehow magnetic and could catch your car to keep it along the barrier so you don't put anyone else's life in danger.. I would support this concept.
I reckon it would be splendid in special, carefully selected locations, but not universally everywhere. Not to mention it must cost a lot.
Except the fact that Aluminum and Plastic have both taken over the auto market an would render a magnetic rail useless.

1701, I don't think any place in the world has discovered proper pothole repair... No state in the US, no province in Canada, no country in Europe or Asia and Potholes are the least of your worries in any country in Africa. (sorry, AU, you are somewhere between EU and US... :) LOL)

@@anjhindul it is actually there fault though because back in the day when the roads were built the tolls from the turnpikes were suppose to fund all road repairs and for a while they did what they were suppose too then uncle sam let them run it like a for profit business even though the turnpike was meant to be more of a non profit
@@anjhindul Proper pot hole repair is well known. The issue is in getting the local gov't to actually do it. It is extremely easy to use an infrared heater to repair them correctly.
I used to be a machine operator here on the West Coast (Local 3!). Being in heavy highway construction, I've ran 3 lane wide (10.8 meter) Gomaco concrete pavers. We used a iDBI which means all of the structural steel rebar and smooth dowel bars were all inserted by computerized system (in pan down bar inserter. It's quite a feat watching a machine lay down 3,500 cubic yards in a night. I also ran a Gomaco Commander III with a slip form barrier attachment similar to the Power Curber. Sometimes I miss doing that work. Also, as a technicality, it's pronounced like go-MAY-co, not go-ma-co.
I was raised on Gomaco's in my parents business. Well superior to Power curber in quality. I miss doing concrete work also..but do enjoy fiber!

@@jeremydraper4275 yep. i attested doing concrete when i was 14 during the summer for my dad. i got into my 30s abs decided to do something different. i do miss concrete from time to time though. But in have better profit margins in low voltage..lol
@@ColonelSmurf dude, that's almost my exact story! I got bad grades my sophomore year, my dad made me work that summer as punishment! About 30, I got out and got into low volt. I still do side projects for friends and my charge is always a bottle of scotch, and my girlfriend isn't shy about "volunteering" my services.

50 years ago I spent a couple of long, hot California foothill summers following a dump truck through the hills with a square point shovel, filling potholes with hot mix, broadcasting shovelfuls with the accuracy of a fly fisherman. By end of summer I could empty two trucks a day by myself.
Gawd, that was hard work.

Really great video! Thank you for sharing these cool machines! People if you see machines on roads, slow down, be alert there’s a crew there! You need them to fix the roads! We need them to come home! Can you imagine being at your work and have to worry about being crushed by a huge desk or giant freezer someone is pushing as fast as they can,every second having to worry if they’re going to look away from controlling it while you walk to the printer or the sink! If you see a crew they are at their jobs, trying to keep a lane open so you can get to yours! We want both of you to come home! Human alert!

9:12 I have been in the road construction business and I know for a fact that just pouring asphalt into a pothole causes more problem than its worth.
The road needs to be cut around the pothole, and exposed to the bottom of it. Then depending what layer the pothole has exposed that layer needs to be replaced and all layers above it. That is what great pothole repairs require. Its like saying ah you have an break in your arm, just slap on a plaster and you will be good to go. There are plenty of places in South Africa where potholes and I mean deep potholes have been filled with asphalt and have caused inverted potholes where you now have impromptu and irregular speed bumps.
This also does not fix the problem at all. The road goes into disrepair faster and faster and there is no support under the road because asphalt even when cold is still liquid which means it will move and distort as cars drive on it. Also movement on it will warm it up and then it gets even softer. So DO NOT do this. That I think is why we are not seeing these machines much on the roads. Not to mention the fact that people will lose jobs when bring replaced by machines.
And it never fails that the powers that be spend 10 times more money with these half ass bandaid fixes than if they actually redid the roads properly!

The rollers on that barrier need to be super sticky so it doesn't shoot you back into traffic. Maybe even magnetic?
SHANKY I agree. If you roll back into traffic you may hit another car and that would be horrible. But also if it’s magnetic it could pull cars from the road.
aluminum and steel arent magnetic which is what mist cars are made of so magnets wouldnt work and if it were super sticky it would quickly be covered in dust and no longer be sticky or just dry up and no longer be sticky or something

Glad to see the electrical charging roads are coming through. Would like to hear more about the electromagnetic field created from it and its impacts.
It sounds very expensive. Just the amount of copper used won't be cheap, plus basically making the affected streets/roads totally anew, with special techniques. I imagine the company holding the patents will get a very juicy slide of the expenses, on top of it all. In Sweden the taxpayers would be glad to pay it all, but how about everywhere else?
I'm sure the gas companies will convince some Q supporters that it will give them cancer and we won't get this technology in the U.S. until it is regularly over 115°F in areas that never got over 100. Oh, wait.

4:48 For an Aussie the most amazing this about any of these items is that they dont need to block a lane half a k in each direction for road works. The OH&S here goes above and beyond stupid levels. They even block a lane of when someone mows the grass beside the highway.

you cant expect every engineering control to eliminate all the hazards of driving on the road, what do you suggest that they have no barrier at all or have this system in play to reduce as much damage as possible,
I would preffer being hit by a truck with whom I have a speed difference of 40km/h than being hit face to face by a truck whit whom I have 150+ km/h speed difference
I guess that's for roads with little traffic. If there were trafic, nobody would even have a chance to drive fast. It's a curved road. Traffic is slow.
An if it does cause another crash, it's going to be a much less lethal one, at least. Great invention.

The road building and gas company lobbies have kept us from the most logical and eco-friendly solution to road construction, which is that all roads should be built downhill. The savings would be tremendous!
My grandpa used to walk 10 miles to school barefoot uphill both ways. I didn't realize the gas company was behind this!

You can use old tires to do the same thing. Lay em down close together and screw them together and fill with gravel. It works great ,has for 15 years now.

The rolling road barriers seem like a good idea until you realize that the guardrails are meant to hold the vehicles off the road and not push them into traffic creating more accidents
was going to say the same thing, supposed to be a stopping device, not a slingshot.
The point of a guard rail is to prevent cars from leaving the road in dangerous locations like near ravines, ditches or overpasses, so if you spin out and wind up in the center of the roadway, it worked. Every driver is supposed to maintain safe travel distances, remember?
