They keep complaining about needing more funding but they don't target the main revenue source, the passengers themselves. Literally no one taps their card when entering buses. Not saying they don't have a pass but how would we know without enforcement
The main source of transit funding is actually not fares. Even with 100% enforcement the recovery box rates are not even close to being the main source. What would make a bigger difference is getting the homeless out of using transit as transient shelter and safety as that improves ridership and reduces the need to drive in the forecasted endless gridlock.
@cmdrls212 I'd rather the money go towards housing, lowering the cost of living not spending it on a transit system that a fraction of the people don't use and will never support itself.
@johnsanderson2968 transportation agencies are not housing agencies. When you apply for a federal grant for transportation, you can't redirect it to any other pet project. If king county or Seattle wants federal dollars for housing, then it should apply for housing dollars.
Add driver barriers
No, we need more buses first
Well that's good

More trolley buses!
more safety
More bus stops!
Trains over busses. The bus system doesn't work iust scrap it and build trains.
Maybe use the money to help the people, our transit system will never be self supporting. Why do we the people have to continue to pay/waist money?
what exactly is "help people" to you? getting people to work is help people isn't it. would you rather have them cut a check?

@cmdrls212 I know and agree, just saying better ways to spend money 💰.
