I had them plugged into the back of the t.v. and they should have been plugged into the satellite receiver. Duhhhhh Sometimes I feel so uninformed, now I can use them. Thanks a bunch!!

Is there a wireless TV headset out there that has a remote charger? My mother is in a nursing home and she needs to have the charger near her since she cannot get up out of bed by herself. My only option I can think of is to buy two of these headphone systems and use one charging stand at her location and the other charging stand at the TV for wire hookup. Thanks...

Sony MDR-IF245RK Wireless IF Headphone. My vizio tv only has a digital Audio out. No RCA Audio outs, only inputs. How do I change digital to analog? Thank you in advance.
Hi i have MDRRF925R at the moment i have an LG TV and i am connecting the red & white audio (RCA) to the TV's output and i am looking forward to buy a Samsung F5300 40 inch any idea how will it work? or if i will have to reverse connection so that the 3.5 jack is connected to the TV in the port that has the headset logo?
Hi Ahmed! I googled you 40" Samsung F5300. Since it has a 3.5mm audio output, you would need to connect the RCA part of the supplied connecting cord (phono plug to stereo mini plug) going to the transmitter of the MDRRF925R while the other end of it is going to your Samsung TV. You may use this bit.ly/1pfzxKS as reference. ~Jean
I have a LG smart tv LB5800, it doesn't have a headphone jack so i connected it to the red and white outputs but there is no sound in the headphones. Please advise.

I bought two pairs of the Sony RF985RK wireless headphones, I got one of them to work fine, but cannot get the other one to work. How can I get both to work if my TV only has one audio output?
Jesus Flores These Headphones can be connected to either RCA Audio Out(L&R) port or Headphones port. check your TV if it has these ports. Please make sure to use different channels if you're going to use both units at the same time. Thanks. >Joffrey

Hi guys. How do I hook up my Sony Wireless Headphones to my Sony tv AND be able to use Apple tv Airplay? I currently have it set up and it works great with my tv, cable, etc. but if I try to use them with my Apple tv, all I can hear is still the cable channels. I'd like to be able to use it for both the cable and apple tv but don't know if that's possible? Thanks.
Hi Gavin! We need to verify some information. What is the model number of your Sony Wireless Headphone and TV? How is the Apple TV box connected to the Sony TV? ~Jean
Hi Quinn Horn, Yes, this will work on the MDR-RF912RK. You may connect the transmitter 3.5mm jack directly to the headphone port of your TV or use an RCA adapter to connect it to the L/R (red and white port) at the back of your TV. Regards, Zac Sony Social Support
Dear Sony I just purchased a set of Sony RF-400 to set up on our roku tv. I think the store clerk misunderstood what I wanted I was looking for a pair of wireless headphones that my husband and I could enjoy watching tv together with out the sound blasting and I could enjoy tv at a normal volume he would wear the head phones and I could just watch the tv together but it is not working that way what can I do to fix this.

My Sony wireless headphones are connected through the cable box. When using Netflix, RUclips, etc. the signal is coming from my internet connection, so the headphones don't play the audio for those programs. The audio continues to be from the cable channel. Is there a TV setting that will switch the audio to apps streamed from the internet?
Gary Holland You may connect your wireless headphones directly to the TV. Please select external speakers on your TV under Audio/Sound Settings. >Joffrey

Is there a way to use it without the transmitter?can anyone give me an idea how to use it ☹️☹️☹️ i dont have the transmitter of it i just accidentaly buy it at a surplus store. I have Sony MDR RF7100
I have Sony Wireless Stereo Headphone System MDRRF985RK; LG DLP TV model 62SX4D-UB. AUSLLAK; Audio Tuner: Yamaha RX-V665; Cable Box / DVR from COX: Motorola DCT6416 III. There is no headphone jack nor audio out on the cable box and using the headphone jack on the Audio Tuner allows the audio to be heard only on the Wireless Stereo Headphone and not by others trying to listen to the TV normally. None of the available audio out jacks on the back of the tuner allow the wireless headphone to work. I contacted COX support who suggested I contact SONY support.
The headphones work great as long as everything is plugged in. As soon as I unplug the black jack from my iPhone, the sound stops. I have changed channels and. Tried auto tuning, but still no sound. As soon as I plug it back in, it works fine.
+bam bam bigelow Both ends of the audio cable must connected on both devices. Disconnecting either of the two ends will stop the audio. Thanks, >Joffrey
+bam bam bigelow Hey, saw your comment and I had to shake my head. All I have to respond is: well, DUH!!!!!!! of course the sound will stop as soon as you unplug the jack!!!!!! and OF COURSE, it works fine when you plug it back in!!!!! are you REALLY that dumb?!!!!!! not too bright, are ya now?!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Rob J. I was actually looking to buy a pair of headphones that I could take on the plane, traveling etc. These headphones only work of you have them plugged into the tower, which also has to be plugged in? They're now useless to me. I thought maybe it could be somehow synced by plugging in the AV cord, I don't know. No need to for personal insults, thanks and have a great day.
Hi s. a., It depends on how you're going to connect it. If you're going to use bluetooth, then it won't be possible. Otherwise, if you're headphones has a transmitter that can be connected using audio cables there is a possibility. - Ella
***** Ok, I believe my Sony TV does support Bluetooth, I saw an option where it can scan Bluetooth devices (I tried and it detects nothing, anyway). Would it work with Sony "only" wireless headphones or not at all ?

Pls help! I just got these headphones for my computer and I could hear through the headphones but theres this annoying static and a weird pulsing sound from my headset. I tried to change the channel on the headphones and I tried all of the wire changes from this video and I still hear the static. Also, when I put the right side of the headphones to my left ear and the left side of the headphones to my right ear, the static reduces a little bit, but I still faintly hear it after a while.
Hi TheCringyCantaloupe , to best assist you, may we have the exact model number of these headphones and your current location? Hope to hear from you. -Erin

I've got a Sony bravia TV, hooked up to a Sony DVD surround system. I want to connect my wireless headphones so i can watch without interruption, problem is i don't want to keep unplugging and replugging my headphones in and out. Can anyone advise me . If i bought an amp would that solve my problem?
What if my TV only has audio input? It is a new Samsung 4K TV with no audio output. I have it connected to a Sony 4K surround sound receiver but it does not have input either only outputs. The only way I can get it to work is connect directly to my cable box. I am trying to get it to play through the headphones and surround sound at the same time. My father needs the headphones because of bad hearing and if we turn the surround sound up so he can hear it fine it is like sitting in a IMAX theater🤯
Hey, jdogglissa! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. May we know the model number of your Sony unit and your current location so we can assist you further? - Romeo
Hello jdogglissa, Sorry for the late reply. If you will connect the headphones to the receiver (phones jack), it will disable the sound on the speakers connected to the receiver and the sound will only output to the headphones. If you want to hear the sound from the speakers and headphones at the same time, your devices must have a multiple audio output connection for headphones and receiver. You may try contacting your cable and TV provider to confirm. Thanks! - Romeo
My Tv doesn't have an audio output. Only an audio input. And it doesn't have a headphone jack to use the other end. It also won't work for our Bose speaker system (input/output isn't listed). All we get is a little bit of humming on channel 1. The rest are silent.
2 days ago I purchased 2 of the Sony wireless headset. 1 on a Samsung TV and the other on a stereo receiver. Everything looks good expect the static is killing me. Can someone please help? It is a horrible experience with crackles and static. I'm thinking of returning them.
+GaRRaPatero España (Garrapaterorulez) Usually the static noise is caused if the headphone is not firmly plugged into the correct jack on the audio source. You may also provide the exact model number of your Sony headphone for best assistance. «Jerome

I have the Wireless Headphone Sony + Converter Digital to RCA connected in a Samsung TV Series 8 Smart TV-51" with only optical digital output. 1) For other devices connected to the HDMI TV, the sound is perfect. 2) For direct TV programs, there is no sound on Headphone Sony. 3) For devices connected TV for USB (ex HDD), there is no sound on Headphone Sony. Why does this happen? How to troubleshoot? Thanks.

***** Dear Joffrey, maybe you understood my initial message. I have a converter digital audio to RCA Toslink. This receives the optical cable TV and a RCA cable connects to the wireless Sony. So your message makes no sense. Another thing, I just enter the Amazon site and is written there "Sony MDRDS6500 Digital Surround Headphones (Discontinued by Manufacturer)" Surely Sony must better prepare stakeholders for better answers to its customers. For 50 years'm buying Sony products, at least we hope are good responses.

Hi Keith! Did it work when you directly connected the wireless headphone to the cable box? If still the same, follow the steps provided on this link bit.ly/1utjnjo to further troubleshoot the issue. ~Jean
Hi Audrey, the wireless headphones that is on the video above would only work with a transmitter, and the transmitter connects to the source device. For Playstation 3 or 4, the transmitter should have an optical input port, since the audio out for Playstation is optical. ~Gabe
+kashif khan we kindly recommend contacting the support team of your smart TV to check its compatibility. Sony MDRZX330BT is tested to work with buletooth devices that supports bluetooth profiles: A2DP, AVRCP. - Jerome

Hi wantansoup1, generally you just have to plug the stereo jack to the Audio Out/Headphone jack of the TV or better yet what would be your headphone's model number? - Ella
Edit: I got it I just reversed the RCA to headphone jack dongle. Problem solved. My problem is I gave each of my parents a set so there are two towers and two headsets but each headset will only connect to one tower I can't get each of two headsets to only connect to its own tower. Yes each tower is on a different channel I have one on channel 1 and one on channel 2. Pressing Auto Detect just cycles from dead air to the same channel over and over I can't find the second channel.

~Jean

i just purchased these i already let them charge....and i only get sound in the right ear..its plug in my samsung tv...i'm ready to return them...i'll try plugging them in the cable box...
Hi Keith! Did it work when you directly connected the wireless headphone to the cable box? If still the same, follow the steps provided on this link bit.ly/1utjnjo to further troubleshoot the issue. ~Jean
Can it work for play station 3/4?
Hi Audrey, the wireless headphones that is on the video above would only work with a transmitter, and the transmitter connects to the source device. For Playstation 3 or 4, the transmitter should have an optical input port, since the audio out for Playstation is optical. ~Gabe
Yea, I saw the video but my tv doesn't even have the other output. Only digital audio output.

Whatabout wired headphones?
I lost the red and white audio cables so where can i buy them.
+Asad Akhtar You can purchase the audio cable at any local electronic store.
Look for an audio cable with RCA and 3.5mm both male.
Thanks.
