Ben...for your little bed under the tree...you only have to use a line trimmer to cut the Kikuyu back everytime you trim....the trimmer will keep the grass out of the bed....if a shoot does come up past the edge it will be nothing to rip it out by hand.

Lol mate. I just repaired patches in my lawn with that crap repair stuff and yeh. I should learn more before throwing stuff down.
My lawn is dark green and it looks like the only seed that popped up is rye. The rest is still seed but the rye is at least 10cm in 4 days and is a very lite green.
Now that you have said that in litterly going out today to shavel it all out before it sets in.
I think I need to stop with the quick dollar easy fix, and do it right.

Hi Ben, I am planning to do a Reno on a large couch lawn. I have a separate area of newly levelled fresh soil where I built a retaining wall.
I want to use the cores and debris from the scarification to grow couch in this area. Would you be able to advise on how this could be done, and the steps to get a new lawn without having to purchase and lay sod.
    Cheers
