Actually, it's the way Korea was portrayed, as well as the...not so good history between Korea and Japan. At the beginning of the 20th century (1910 to be exact), Japan colonised Korea. The Koreans suffered as much as the Jews under the Nazis. So to have someone who brutalised your people, used them in experiments, took your land, and various other offences, and never apologised for any of it make fun of your country, well, of course you'd be mad about it.
I mean south Korean wanted him gone since they hated his representation (even though every country was equally made fun of) but now that I read the Manga yikes was he weird... I mean he was perverted and kinda into incest
as a korean who likes hetalia this is so conflicting for me because i do love hetalia for the historicalness(?) and the hot characters(lol) but i really do wish hima had put more critical thought into making yongsoo as a character as some aspects of him are actually inexcusably offensive. i really wish he was in the anime but i’m happy this version of him wasn’t because i don’t think i’d be able to support hetalia if so

Koreans don't say Da~Ze. the letter or sound for Z doesn't even exist in their alphabet. If they try to pronounce z most of the time, it comes out sounding more like a j or g. I was really upset, because I love both Korea (south of course) and Japan, but the characteristics that they gave S. Korea were really offensive, inaccurate, and just plain wrong. I hope that the relationship between the two countries can be repaired someday because I'm waiting to see a super cool Asian brothers trio with Japan, China, and S. Korea someday!
I love this! The only problem I have is with his character design and the fact that Koreans literally can’t pronounce the Z sound properly so “Da-ze” doesn’t really make sense in this situation.
I think if South Korea had a canonical MKC, the background music would be K-pop based, but since most of us AREN'T professional musicians, we sadly must stick to the instrumental versions of the other Nations.

Himaruya-sensei planned Korea to appear in anime but many Korean criticized S.Korea's hanbok(?) ..they said it's wrong..(that's mainly the reason)
