    Reminds me of a Ravi Shankar concert I went to about 50 years ago (Royce Hall, UCLA) where he played an incredible 20 minute Raga on the bass string of his sitar. Amazing. All one needs is one string to play a melody. Thanks for sharing your monochordic 2x4 guitar.

      Denis Bowman the recipe is as follows, one 2x4 or the metric eqivalent at the length you decide, one machine head/tuner, one mono jack and assc wiring, solder, etc, a rope for guitty strap and i d have to say the big E string from a guitar, one POS wound pick up, toss together accordingly, stop fiddling with it when it almost doesnt sound crappy any more, watch shane's vid on using smoke on the water to start marking your "frets", plug her and bob s yer uncle
