I have seen this series many times and it always reminds me of Halo 3:ODST because there is a group of ODSTs one of the ODSTs get split from the team and he is the "rookie" of the group and the others are the high ranks and the rookie pairs up with marines that are stranded
@xxcolonelRoguexx He's a Spartan, though. It's standard procedure for Spartan's to get the highest ranks possible so they can instantly take command of whatever forces they're assigned to. Which is why John-117 is a Master Cheif Petty Officer, the highest non-officer rank in the Navy.
@TheAugustBoys 1. As of 2557 (in my canon), all ODST, Marine and Army body armor was equipped with a weak energy shield system. 2. Nothing I can do about the water sloshing. Just pretend there's a lake nearby or something.
@Chronicler177 And actually, from the description of the silver visor, I think it's supposed to be what ODST's were. I mean, it says "Jumping feet first into hell isn't your job."
@78tr11 Yes, I do know. But; 1) This was at the beginning of the war, when the UNSC could afford to put officers in the field. This is post-Halo 3, when they're almost dry on experienced personnel. And 2) Fasion was head of a full ship's contingent of ODST's. This guy here has a single squad under his command. There's no reason for him to be such a high rank. Also (in the real world) people have written to Tobias Buckell and made the same notes I made earlier. It might be changed
@Omega4Productions I don't think they gave humanity THAT many weapons...most likely just some for UNSC scientists to study and back-engineer, hence the ODSTs' shield systems. Besides, it makes more sense in a movie for humans to be carrying human weapons, don't you think?
@xxcolonelRoguexx It's a bit high for an ODST, though. Commander's a commisioned, or officer, rank (ex. Commander Keyes, who's the captain of a ship) and therefore extremely unlikely to be sent into combat with the non-commisioned men.
@Omega4Productions Not nessicarily. Humans would still probably be more comfertable with the weapons they made themselves. Though it would make sense for them to have, perhaps, a Fuel Rod Gun or a Plasma Launcher
@Chronicler177 Not really...considering how much stuff is actually required to make a miniature tactical nuke. Unless its a prefabricated one unassembled...that makes more sense. Though I don't think ODST armor has enough radiation shielding to keep her from getting cancer or going sterile. A good-sized demo charge would make more sense. But, since it's already out...whatever.
@Chronicler177 technically speaking the halo ranks very on what branch and since ODST where classified and SPEC OPS before the Spartans where even thought of i could see a vet ODST being at that rank
@Straif5 they could simply use a fusion coil, as it is a constant nuclear reaction, just need the fissile materials from it, and then boom, u haz parts for a mini nuke.
@JaxonDragon360 The marines are a specific branch of the Navy used primarily in boarding actions and amphibious attacks. You do YOUR research before you start hating.
@morgan123476 True. But the material is the problem...it's highly radioactive (why it's fissile in the first place). You have to break open the coil and expose yourself to several thousand curries of radiation to get at it. I doubt ODST armor can handle that. Plus, Fusion coils are hard to move around. They are rather unweildly.
@78tr11 I've read every Halo book that's come out. I own a copy of all of them. And I still don't see one instance of a non-Spartan Commander being given field work. The closest there is is Captain Dare from ODST, and her promotion is rather...dubious, as she's attached to ONI.
Nicely directed, good attention to detail, chronology of the actual universe, and choriographing of the fight scenes, and a good plot line to boot. Impressive. The only things I have to note is the voice acting is a bit strange, and the mini nuke idea. The acting is understandable, and I honestly don't really care. But I have to wonder; where did the materials for the nuke come from? Did the ODST's carry them with them? It's kind of confusing.
Third best machinima series you have made, 1. The Last War 2. SPARTANS 3. This. Also what do you have planned for halo, when The Last War is over? And when will Episode 6 be posted for the Last War; like in the morning or at night?
Also; I seriously doubt that the leader of this group of ODST's would be a Commander. That's far to high a rank for a soldier in the feild, except perhaps a Spartan (Ex. Carter in the Reach Campaign). More likely, he'd be a Gunnery Sergeant, or perhaps a Sergeant Major.
@Straif5 yeah its true, you never put a high ranking soldier in the field. that's just a complete matter of time before its just privates and corporals
@goldenguardian100 Uh, yeah, they can. You ever played ODST? Ductch walks around with two of them in the levels you play as him. You start off both levels with them.
@crayzeesteve The less expensive and more efficient armor, as I don't have to make my actors buy a bunch of expensive shit where silver visors and regular knees will do.
I like how you made the enemy seem like they were massing in one spot, I actually believed there were large amounts of Elites attacking, but If there are a lot of Elite weaponry where are the ground troops? I dont know but I feel that a war machinima is better with ground troops, armorer tanks (and whatever else), and Air support. Only the ODST had air support, but I guess they needed an advantage too. I dont know im making a long paragraph about nothing I guess. :D
That would be true if this were bigger than just on Reach. This fight is exactly what the title says; a border war. In the big scheme of things, it's barely a skirmish. And the UNSC isn't in THAT bad a shape. They never were, note even at the end of Halo 3. They're in better condition in this. The only reason he's a Commander is because Chronicler made a mistake.
i was wondering in the beginning did halo 3 odst inspire that because it looks like the part with dutch and mickey on the bridge (p.s. i'm a boy and enjoy this machinima)
Dude yes literally the pilot says I'll buy you time and right after he died they say it sucked he died to stall them and then the nuke was ready all under a time of about 3min
pretty unrelated but in fallout 3 u could make a small nuclear grenade out of a bottle of soda drain cleaner and a tin can so for me this isnt too unbelievable
I really like these vids, but you got the dates wrong; Reach fell in 2552 along with the spartans. This can't be on reach in 2568. If there is a reason you chose this year plese explain as I'm confused
I'm am a fan of this seris but three things have always bugged me about this episode 1- whay have a mini nuke, it just seems kind of pointless and isn't making nukes really dificalt and takes longer than that 2- Whay does everyone have evade surely it makes more sense to have sprint 3- when they are sneaking past the wraith at the end, wouldn;t you wait until it has passed before moving out into open ground Don't take this the wrong way this is a great series it just construcive critsizm
The guy with the terminator accent is badass (favorite character)
He remembers me of Dutch

Oh good i am not the only one I thought halo odst
i swear to god, you should make a tv series out of this :D
@JaxonDragon360 I believe the Marines are part of the Navy anyway.
I just want to say that I love the Halo series. There is so much drama. Your machinima is awesome.
@xxcolonelRoguexx

well i can tell you this...this is no Red vs Blue but this still cool
@TheAugustBoys 1. As of 2557 (in my canon), all ODST, Marine and Army body armor was equipped with a weak energy shield system.

Nice vid very well coregaraph. Halo reverence is good forge buildings good very nice vid. It almost looked like a halo wars battle
@DollarBillers01 Theatre mode. And you can have Elites in most gametypes out of matchmaking.
@Straif5 Sid's a demolitions expert, I think it's feasible she'd be carrying parts for a mini-nuke.
@xxcolonelRoguexx

Very good directed.Congratulations
Assult Rifles don't do much against wraiths, but it was still a good video.
@Omega4Productions

i love the skyline soundtrack nice video by the way
I really hate myself for watching the last war first. But that was such a good machinima ill have to watch it again
@BRPhillis Hah, yep! Good ol' Scorch said it first time you ordered him to blow something up. In memory of my first FPS!
Decade old machinima just appears in my recommended, alright then
The Office of Naval Intelligence from Halo 3: ODST.
@MuusHx Yep, another glitch of Halo: Reach's theatre mode.
@tikala1 Mostly. I had to include Yellow for Sid, too.
@JaxonDragon360 The marines are a specific branch of the Navy used primarily in boarding actions and amphibious attacks. You do YOUR research before you start hating.

guy who said time me made me laugh for over 20 mints

Killer Orca Because Chronicler177's series is not related to the HALO timeline
Good times, man...good times.
Love the series just watched them all
Nicely directed, good attention to detail, chronology of the actual universe, and choriographing of the fight scenes, and a good plot line to boot. Impressive.

I heard the repsond sound when he got dropped of the falcon

I forgot you had a thing for wraiths in this series XD
all videos are excellent

not sh*tting you, (first of all thats physically impossible) but really this the first vid i have seen on youtube with 0 dislikes. great job
@Straif5 you know the book called the cole protocol well faison was a commander
@smurpleproductions I understand you're not trolling. Voice acting has never been one of my strong points, or any of my friends', but we try.
@goldenguardian100
Uh, yeah, they can. You ever played ODST? Ductch walks around with two of them in the levels you play as him. You start off both levels with them.

@crayzeesteve By efficient, I mean it costs less for actors to buy and still looks good.
@TheChromeViper Sorry, I don't put them on my file share.
you people need more awards and attention
@Cypher157
That, and they just so happen to have radioactive material laying around?
I like how you made the enemy seem like they were massing in one spot, I actually believed there were large amounts of Elites attacking, but If there are a lot of Elite weaponry where are the ground troops? Dude yes literally the pilot says I'll buy you time and right after he died they say it sucked he died to stall them and then the nuke was ready all under a time of about 3min
you should put the city and other maps up for download
pretty unrelated but in fallout 3 u could make a small nuclear grenade out of a bottle of soda drain cleaner and a tin can so for me this isnt too unbelievable
