As a Korean, I think Sonny may forgive Bentancur, but fans may not. The entire Asian fanbase is disappointed. And this is not the first time a Uruguayan soccer player has made racist comments or gestures towards a South Korean national team player. (A few years ago, Valverde made an eye-tearing gesture during a game against South Korea, and then a few years after that, he made a strong tackle on Lee Kang-in, knocking him down and then roaring at him during another game in South Korea.) I don't know if that kind of attitude towards Asians is acceptable in Uruguay, but not at all in Asia. (and I don't think it would be in England either) I hope Bentancur thinks seriously about this. I hope Tottenham don't try to be vague by deleting the comments, which, from an Asian fan's point of view, could be punishable by a ban.

@@zeonmx I guess It's not that simple, my friend. Certainly if you say Asia as a whole, you can, because Asia is so big and it's divided into different cultures within that. So, for example, the Middle East or South Asia or Central Asia might not be too thrilled about South Korea or Sonny, but East Asia, specifically China, Japan, and Taiwan, which is Far East Asia, is different. This region includes China, which is a very big market for Tottenham, and China and Japan in particular have a traditionally strong sense of rivalry with South Korea, so they're not just going to hear about Sonny's racism issue through sports news, but they're going to consume it through many of individual youtubers and social-communities that have a very inflammatory tone, so maybe the Japanese are going to talk about Sonny in a more condescending way while still being against racism, and the Chinese are going to bash Bentancur. The short-term problem with this is that it's right before the Korean tour, but the bigger, longer-term problem is that it's going to reduce the loyalty of Asian fans (or Far East Asian fans) to Spurs, which means less potential for them to remain Spurs fans and consume merchandise after Sonny's time has passed. I hope that both Bentancur and the club apologize and tie up loose ends without shirking their moral responsibilities.
love your content and am a long time fan, but about the bentancur sonny situation, its not about people "being sensitive to these comments in this day and age" as sim said, its about the casual racism towards asians from the west that has been so normalised and isnt taken seriously. Im a white english male so i cant speak on behalf of any south koreans or any asians for that matter, but bentancurs comment rly pissed me off and i honestly dont know how easy its going to be for sonny, the team and a MAJOR part of our fanbase to just "move on" from this. Its blatant racism, whether its from ignorance or malice. And with it more likely being ignorance it only compounds the lack of care and blatant disregard to the very real problem of racism directed towards asian people. sorry for the rant, just wanted to voice my thoughts.
also want to add, his apology was awful as well, it just added to to the ignorance and disregard towards the very topic of racism directed to asians. + i dont want to say any non asians saying something along the lines of "ppl are too woke nowadays and cant take a joke". The words racist and racism have been so overused these days that it’s diminished the potency of it. If you say anything about someone who doesn’t look exactly like you then you get labeled that. People make “racist” jokes about “their own” people and nobody says anything because it’s understood to obviously mean nothing. When there’s a joke like Bentancur’s nobody assumes it’s just a joke they immediately swarm him with allegations of being an undercover racist who’s just slipped up and outed himself. People’s biggest fears these days are being offended 😂 it’s a wild time. Most of the fans moved on so easily because they saw it for what it was intended to be….a joke. Too many grand standing/ I’m better than you with my virtuous standings people who get their rocks off by being patted on the back as “good people” who in reality have so little in their life this is what they fill those holes with.

Eze am/lw, Toney/Gimenez st, Edwards/Raphinha rw, Gray/Geertruida rb/cdm , Theate/Calafiori/Zabarnyi lb/cb, is an achievable and reasonably ambitious window in the range of £140-170M-ish minus a heaping portion of outgoings (PEH, Emerson, LoCelso, Gil, Rodon, Spence,, Skipp, maybe more recoup £55M+) that Levy can haggle alongside opportunistic targets like Gallagher, Ederson, Gudmundsson. or several of the higher end targets not just one over months of "Spurs in talks" then scouring the August bargain bin!!!
• I can't wait for Vuskovic, hope he does well in Belgium then maybe comes to Championship.
• Rodon is a Premier League CB, whoever gets him will be a bargain.

Hojbjerg is alright if you play him specifically as a 6 (like how Amrabat was played in the FA Cup final) and don’t ask him to do anything fancy. Like if we get Eze, midfield could be Maddison, Eze, and Hojbjerg as a single pivot. That’s an option.

Just how many 18 yr olds are we going to look at? Veliz, vuskovic, Bergvaal, Philips, Archie Gray, Doue, Mikey Moore and Donelly among others. Can we seriously start a season with a squad half full of teenagers? Bring some more experienced players in. I know a few will be back on loan, but we do need some experience now.
The reason to buy 18 year olds is because if they stay with us for 3 years, they will qualify as club-trained homegrown players.
There certainly needs to be a balance between bringing in young prospects as well as players who will go straight into the first team, but signing promising young players to help fix our club-trained homegrown issues isn't a bad thing. It will take a few years to make sense, but our academy hasn't been very successful over the last 10 years, so it makes sense to buy some external talent.

The price tag of Archie Gray is just too big when we are looking at finding people for our starting 11. We dont have the money to spend this much on 2nd options. Not yet at least.
Tbh I’d consider moving Bentancur on even if this incident never happened. Either him or Bissouma. We have too many players in that same position.
It's good he apologized. But Lolo will be needed because we need depth, players of quality. That way if we have an injury hit season again we are covered. Selling dead wood should be the priority and Bentacur is nowhere near that
@@babujoe2785 We have Sarr, Bentancur, Bissouma, Bergvall, and potentially Gallagher or someone like that. Way too many. If it’s not Bentancur, it’d probably have to be Bissouma after the next season.
@@jeffrman777 I understand what you're saying but Bergvall and Sarr as a 6? Hmmm I'm not too sure about that. But if we get 'that Signing' and we have Lolo and Biss for all our competitons the league, Europe and the cups. I think it's feasible if you plan ahead and think of injuries.

Serie A players seem to have a torrid time of coming to the Premier League and excelling. Yes, there's the occasional hit, but by and large Italian clubs more often than not sell for big fees and then end up taking back their players on loan and eventually for free. Dancing with the devil, such as the difference in intensity and speed of respective leagues. Conversely players that can't cut it in the Prem go there and excel.

The Bentancur-Son situation seems too exaggerated, it was a bad and overused joke, but he obviously never intended to offend anyone. People are too soft nowadays, crying over everything, he apologized, it's over. And I'm 100% sure they already settled it, that level of stupid joke can't possibly break a friendship.

@@doguc3379 that South Koreans all look the same. This sort of humour gets an eye-roll from me, but it's very forgivable, because it's simple ignorance. From my experience, South American people are quite relaxed about race-based humour and stereotypes. Maybe a bit backwards, but not loaded or malicious in quite the same way as when you hear it from North Americans and Europeans a lot of the time (not that that makes it ok)
I'd agree that it wasn't intentionally hurtful, but that really doesn't matter after someone is hurt. A drunk driver never means to hit a pedestrian, but an innocent person gets hurt, and the drunk has to be held accountable.

Juve are spending €20m on Douglas Luiz in a swap deal and then are going to go for koopmeiners who definitely won’t be cheap. Also Bologna want to keep him and will only get 60% of the profit from his sale so they will demand a lot, it will probably be a while before they get the money for the deal.

How come Tottenham never goes for a more experienced player? Especially for positions that may not see much game time? An exoerienced centerback would not hurt.
The thing is we have to also balance club grown and home grown quota and if we have many good young signings and can keep them on our books for 3 years until they turn 21 I think then we will have more flexibility plus you never know you might just find the next Varane or Xavi or even a Aguero
