Did you know when he was on Blockbusters back in 1980 He lost his house in a Fire do sad. So here is a Classic 1982 episode of Blockbusters. Enjoyed
We remember watching John Hatten on Blockbusters, who perfected his 20 match winning streak of $120,000 in cash in a 1982 original broadcast, and John Hatten's own family came up from the studio audience in this celebration which aired April 21st, 1982, just 2 days before its original series finale with the star of Blockbusters Bill Cullen on NBC. And this also happened to Liz and Pat McCarthy earlier in the game show series, RIP Bill Cullen, Mark Goodson, BillTodman and Rich Jeffries.
Without question my favorite game show contestant on one of my favorite game shows. It was one of the best moments in game show history. Thanks for posting.
I enjoyed this game show because it challenged the players and the TV audience. And I adored Bill Cullen. He was a mainstay on many game shows.
I contacted John's daughter on Facebook, and she was kind enough to give me her dad's email. Mr. Hatton was moved by my email and sent me a very substantial and heartfelt reply.
One of the last contestants to walk away with $120,000 during the finale week on “Blockbusters” back in 1982. He played 20 games with 20 Gold Run/Gold Rush games and ended up winning $120,000 in cash where he was retired as an undefeated champion.
Mustached Mark looked incredibly bugged at losing.
When this was aired on NBC daytime, school lunch menu courtesy of the Glendora, CA Unified School District: Oven Fried Chicken, Savory Rice, Seasoned Mixed Vegetables, Carrot Sticks, Jello w/Fruit.
Thank you for telling me about the School Lunch of the day.

I've seen this in 2014.
Aired April 21st 1982
Imagine John Hatton vs Pat and Liz Mccarthy????!!!! 🤯🤯🤯
When John Hatton replied to my email a few years ago, he said that the late Pat McCarthy was the smartest person on the show and probably would've beaten him even during his first run.
Pat and Liz McCarthy were not popular contestants because, unlike John they weren't affable or relatable, John's personal situation notwithstanding, he was intelligent but we joked that a psychologist knew how to relate to people.
That would be a great match! John Pat and Liz.
@@gynandroidhead that is so awesome to hear! Thank you for that! I think John was being very modest and I really liked Pat and Liz as well. All three were enjoyable to watch and wouldve made amazing competitors worthy of each other.
@@joefagan6244 it wouldve been the most amazing thing to watch! All three of them were monsters (in the most respectable and skilled sense) and I can just imagine them being virtually tied at every answer with them being at their prime and acknowledging that the opposite side is the real deal.
"My fantasy the invisible-troupe my cousin greg-winslow & myself @ home inside the abandoned acme-market on route-61 in shamokin land of messopotamia northumberland-county ioml".
what condfidents in his last answer
"William lawrence francis cullen the 1st host of the price is right the legendary game-show host & panelist professor yes n no himself bill-cullen" 🇮🇪🇺🇸🎤.
If you combine both of his runs, John Hatton had won a total of $180,000 in cash during his time on Blockbusters.
It was $120K. They brought back former champions who were subject to the old maximum 10 visits to the Gold Run when they extended the maximum to 20.
It would have been a thrill to see him go up against Pat and Liz, the family pair who also ran the 20-match gauntlet with perfection and $120K.
@@gynandroidhead That would have been a classic.
