Hi I want to thank everybody for trying to use turbo cad. I still want to learn and live. I had 5 strokes and 4 heart attacks they shocked my heart twice. I am 74 years old next Nov 01. My wife is dead 10 years ago from breast cancer she was 60yo. I got my first stroke in 2015. I take blood thinners. Getting back to the Cad I had trouble seeing the icons but I just learned how to fix them from the comments listed below, it worked perfect for me.Thank you. I know Solidworks and Auto cad from the free classes at the Community college. I am retired now and have 2 diplomas in Mechanical Engineering. Thank you very much for helping me.I have a problem with my screen going into a zoom extents error message my wheel mouse turns too easy for me. I would like a tip to just get a simple screen. Thank you for these tutorials!!

I've been using TurboCad since 1991 and I still picked up some useful techniques from this video.I'm ashamed to say that I struggled for all these years using the hard way to revert back to the selector tool when all I had to do is hit the spacebar.
I have been using sketchup for 10 years but need a 2d cad program to do construction docs...TurboCAD like a good cost effective alternative to Autocad LT. Am looking forward to getting started!
The thing I hate most is that these tutorials constantly use menu options that do not exist on my screen. Sometimes it would be nice to explain how to get these options, like what tool bar are they located in. Right now I'm trying to find the "close" option to close a hatch. Can't find it anywhere.
HELP!! At 9:59 when i right click to change camera view to isometric SE all the camera views are still "grey" I cannot select any camera views. How do i fix this?
Hi. When I try to dock the layers palette on the center of the selection info palette, (8:36 minutes) there is no center option (that space in the icon is blank) only top, bottom, left and right. Does anyone know why that is and how to fix it? Thanks
great video, It was easy to follow, however, my model didn't have the defined lines showing corners with the shadows and lighting. It all seemed to have blended together. any way to fix this?

You said twice at 5:47 that you were going to SNAP to the center to the center of the line and then SNAP to the corner of the rectangle. YOU TURNED THE SNAP OFF. How does it snap when it's off?
So I am learning to draw up houses, decks etc. and am curious if this is the right software to use. Is this still a good program in 2021? Looks kind of hard right now that I am just starting so I am wondering if they have made anything easier in the last couple years. Any help would be appreciated.

When he "flys out" a menu off of a button, be sure your buttons are set like his, or you'll beat you head against a wall like i did trying to turn on SNAP to grid.
Im just starting cad but when I drag select part of the drawing the part I select just enlarges the lines and dosent delete. I can select individual lines to delete but not selestion as in the exercise
I'm using 2015 deluxe so this may be the issue. At 5min30 a triangle is created, the next step is to add a circle. In the displayed image the bottom RHC of the triangle has a cross displayed and after selecting circle when the cursor over to the point where you want to begin the circle a snap appears at the mid point..........this doesn't appear for me. What step, if any, am I missing? Found the problem........I had SNAP turned off in the Inspector Bar
This is a great tutorial but...I am getting so frustrated with TC deluxe as it is HARD to find good tutorials on a lot of issues. Right now, I have an extruded rectangle block and I want to radius the edge, well not in deluxe! So I try to make an arc and use it to slice the corners off, NOT in deluxe! Must be a way and NO, I do not want to round corners before the extrudes as it is not always a good option. I even had engineer at work try it and she said that it sucks not being able to do what I want. If anyone knows a way to do this, please let me know : )
I do not know if this will help, but in version 9.2 I have to click on a tool item and then when the fly out comes out, click on the item a second time to get it to work. I experienced this in Adobe Illustrator.
all very well if my icons did the same as your icons, ie object trim second from top ... looks same as yours, but no fly out menu appears ... and so it goes on!
I have a more basic need to start; my toolbars are so small that you need a magnifying glass to see them. I have a very fast 5th gen I-7 and a good video card and a ton of memory, running x64 version. What am I missing? I tried changing screen resolution from the recommended, and that did nothing for me.
Sounds like your monitor is a high res monitor. Try changing the screen resolution to something lower than you have. The lower the resolution the bigger the icons will appear.
Lincoln Karim the actual folks got back to me. Here is the answer, thanks maybe it will help another; Go to Tools > Workspace > Customize > Options tab > You will see the two slide bars against Toolbar Icon size and Other icons size.
Hi Herman. Just to be clear do you mean v10 or TC 2016? If 2016 then yes it should be applicable. If v16 it should still be mildly applicable but v16 is very old. You should contact our sales group to see about upgrade pricing and any specials which include training.
HELP please!!!! I have lost all my tool bars and can't do ANYTHING in turboCAD 2016 I am loosing my mind right now just trying to LEARN this software a little more. can I just get it back to a default setting where EVERYTHING comes back STOCK like when I 1st installed it?!?!?!
If the tool is not visible, go to the drop-down menu VIEW then TOOLBARS, then check the box labeled 'NewModify'. In TC version 19 'JoinPolyline' tool looks like a tiny red box with a cyan curved arrow pointing to the box.
next to delete ... delete key on laptop does not do it - so where is delete - 'help' does not understand 'delete' ... don't find it in the menus ... a basic! So how do you delete the rh line of the rectangle?
Jan 2021 I have used TurboCAD since the mid 1990's. So sad that their Sales and Support does not seem interested in upgrading users. I have been using a Mac computer for a couple of years. Bought Deluxe v 10 in Jan 2018. Now I have to upgrade to v 12 due to Apple release of Big Sur. TurboCAD says they now have a fix for the software to operate on Big Sur. But Sales and Support are not giving me a price for an upgrade. If you can't get support why buy this software.

Look for a set of long videos by Legacy Woodworking Machinery. While he is showing how to use Turbo Cad for wooden parts, he does an excellent job of first setting various parameters in Turbo Cad, lesson 1, so it will do just those things that you asked about. The present video made my head spin. Too much, too fast, for this old geezer.
Interesting thing about Turbocad is how many questions about its use can never be answered. It has a devoted following - much like Apple products - similar to a cult religion.
I have version 9 of this terrible software and I was able to eventually figure out workarounds to its many bad design issues. BUT the real issue came up when I merely upgraded my Apple OS to version 10.13.1 and the software stopped working. Just like Ransomware - it demanded a $300 upgrade because of their horrible policies in the company. None of my previous turboCad files can be even accessed because of this. I sincerely hope this company goes out of business. The main software issue (among countless others) was that the PDF export function does not work - the image it exports is not even closely related to what you have on the screen. Then I had to always move the image to my 30 inch monitor and then stretch it and do a screen capture. THen I have to take the screen capture to photoshop and edit it and make the line weights heavy enough to see and add any dimensions or notes and THEN save from photoshop as a PDF. Horrible program and the company is run by even worse management.
SuperMagnetMan while you noted several problems you encountered I've traced all your issues back to a single mistake you've made....your using Macintrash hardware when you should be using a pc.
gives some of the basics, but doesnt cover any trouble shooting as to why these tips aren't working, just like my high school cad teacher usless no wonder I dropped the course.

what i saw it just looked like he zoomed out then back in. Im confused there as well. lmk if you have found a fix if you can.

It is a easy transfer from Autocad 2017 (dinosaur ) to a Turbo cad software, I am so use to the software tools of 2017 autocad etc..

Make sure to long hold the left click. I had the same problem

RomeniteNY Yes you can save in STL,when you click 'Save As' there is a drop down menu, if you just click 'Save' it uses the existing file type

No one will ever answer that. You will simply get abused by Turbocad fans (who don't know the answer either).

explode ... no icon for explode there - help - does not know an 'explode' icon exists .. and so it goes on
