Please upload more of these videos from George! They're absolutely wonderful to watch such a master artist engaged in his craft, and they're incredibly peaceful as well. I could watch him create all day long.
He may even be more brilliant thN Vincent. I say that with awe, because Vincent has always been my favourite, but this man , has me in love with the paint, the painting and the painter.
I am stunned by his skill and his love of nature, his personal resolve to combat difficulties and his complete and utter understanding of the natural world. WOW!!!!
A simply brilliant painter of the visible world. The handling of paint is both spectacularly skilful and sublimely beautiful. I find it odd that despite the manic nature of the surface, there is a calmness and contemplative quality to the paintings. Also, the subtleties of atmospheric tone are as perfectly considered as in anything by conventional realist artists of the past. I wish I could attempt to use oil paint with even a fraction of his confidence and abandon.
Oh, George. Keep up videoing these wonderful paintings, and speaking to us about your thoughts while doing so. Us amateur painters can learn so much from you. X
Fantastic paintings, I would also like to say exemplary filming with the gift of atmosphere, there was something about this, can't put my finger in it, like you couldn't age it, now or 40 years ago, brilliant.
I just really like how his paintings capture the environment where he's creating ...it seems like the wind & sand & ocean spray are actually a part of/in the painting like you can almost even smell the setting hes in...I saw 2 of his pieces in LA once were mind blowing definitely my favorite artist...so DYNAMIC...I hope I'm lucky enough to see the flower painting in this video some day...WOW!!!
What an inspiration; for young, and, particularly, for the old! A joy to wach the process and the final result…he makes it look so smooth and easy; those who tried and are doing it, know very well; how much talent, practice, and, above all, the work and effort goes into it! May God provide the time and energy to this great Artist!!!!
What a true statement..im getting ready to go do a field next week and back to a camping spot.ive done 12 paintings over.there..and.i could go back and get so.many more. I hope you get to go back to that garden. I know that a kind of hurts to leave it.
He paints with so much emotion. He dances and he fights with his art...I got a tear in my eye when I imagined another artist of our time, "Robin Williams" in another great role playing the life of this great artist.
These are the questions a genius does not ask himself, but resolves them in passing. One must concentrate on the Flux of creativity, they are short lived moments, all else is sedimentary.
@@jimreid9674 Over time it does crack and the permanence in general is limited. It will take decades to dry and it will crack. Most pigments are toxic and the fact he has made it to 80 is surprising.
Really amazing. Despite it looks more like a sculpture than painting, it's also very puzzling. Looks like sh..t at close distance but if You get back few steps it's astonishing.
This guy is a living legend. Just look at how he converses with the environment. And he’s 80 yrs young. Just such an inspiration to watch him.
Indeed
I would be honored to meet him he is a master. I would pay to have a visit. Would live to read his note. How much is his work?
That’s my uncle
You're brilliant, I enjoyed watching that so much. Beautiful painting. The painting looks like the garden, and the gardens look like a painting.

This is like watching the mad genius of Vincent van gough at work.
Truly an artist in every sense of his being.
Good to see people like this exist .
Drying time 2 months ?
@@ljd8520 probably at least that. For the paint to "cure" takes sometimes 6 months to a year.

No brushes / no tools - painting with fingers only! Wow 🤩
Beautiful work looks like a van Gogh
,a truly wonderful painter. !!!! Is the composer Morton Feldman. ??? Thanks so much. Warren
What colors of red, blue, yellow and white / brand does he use? What board type?
Magnificent
He can use my living room if running out of room to dry up his paintings. Lovely.
Rowlett's paintings are alive❣️
The excitement in his face before he starts
Amei seus trabalhos, amo também os meus 👏👏👏👏

Fantastic briliant pure emotion
A sculptor of paint. The paint seeping through his veins.
A gentleman contemplating life from an English garden..
how do his paintings dry? how can he transport them without messing up the strokes? what does he do with the nail holes?
These are the questions a genius does not ask himself, but resolves them in passing.
One must concentrate on the Flux of creativity, they are short lived moments, all else is sedimentary.
Genius...is in the reflection
Oh my goodness! I was born and raised in Schellville/Sonoma. I feel happy to be reminded of my home. 🌞
What are these paints made of? Acrylics mixed with chalk? Heavy Oils ? Looks expensive. I like it very much.
oil
Does the paint not crack when it is layered so thickly?
No, but goodness knows how long it takes to dry. A year?
@@jimreid9674 Over time it does crack and the permanence in general is limited. It will take decades to dry and it will crack. Most pigments are toxic and the fact he has made it to 80 is surprising.
what happens with those holes in canvass after he takes the nails off?
I love his painting style just like I like my women, nice and thiick😎
Fabulous
Does his oil paint come in large cans?
Yes. Some English brand. Not sure if they still make it
His art for sale anywhere?
Yes, he is truly amazing. But did you guy notice how he man handled that tolly? Boss. Legend. Hero.

sculpture in oil paint
George Rowlett. He knows what he is doing. He is suffering and enjoying .v.k
Inspired by the energy, courage and commitment… but there must be a better way than peppering the outer boundaries of the work with 10-gauge nails.
a man for all seasons
Perfectly stated
❤❤❤
Mi respeto maestro
Really amazing. Despite it looks more like a sculpture than painting, it's also very puzzling. Looks like sh..t at close distance but if You get back few steps it's astonishing.
ARTISTE i madh
this nailthing is clever
♥️
🎉🎉🎉🎉😊
Legend has it that the painting is still drying haha
looks like incarnation of van Gogh; paint like van Gogh(energy)sees like monet (light)
He must have a 55-gallon drum at home labeled 'glop'.
Why the nails?
Its more sculpture than painting.
The sculptural aspect negates the need to create shadows with darker paint.
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
A bit of a sculptor too.
The modern Van Gogh
This man is most definitely autistic to be able to see things the way he paints them , i most certainly can relate.. most brilliant work
