This is nice timing. Eclipse has like 5% less winrate as first item. I never really liked the item tbh, and feel its an excuse to make more mistakes on Zed. Which is untradtional. Zed is high risk high reward. Better way to have more damage and be a real assasin, as Zed is. Edit: Also thank you theory creafting, nice plays too. Def will try the items.
You should still build Serylda's by 4th item (including boots). It will outdamage every other lethality item by that point due to enemies getting enough armor per level to start to lower the value of lethality (Even against squishy champs who build no armor).
Let's say that you deal 100-200 more damage. Is it more worth than the HP you get with Edge Of Night for example and the shield? That's the hard question we should be asking.

If you are fighting against an auto attack heavy comp, EON doesn't benefit much because the shield and hp it provides are removed so easily. Seryldas allows you to not only do more damage to squishies, but also do some damage against tankier opponents. Sometimes the threat of damage is enough to ward off a tankier opponent. Plus, if you ever have to deal with super minions, you will actually be able to kill them in a reasonable time. If EON is needed, I am more likely to replace one of my other lethality items with it. Seryldas is usually to valuable to get rid of. There may be some games where this is not true, but I can't think of any at the moment.
I tried this for some games and ngl my love for Zed returned, it was like i was i completely forgot the core essence of Zed and his builds these pasts patches
Thing is the squishies die often anyways, it’s the bruiser and tanks you basically can not fight with lethality. It was visible in this video, you got kills but in most clips you ended up dying afterwards very fast too. Have the enemy’s find the armor items in the shop and it’s gg. Not rarely do fighters go deaths dance or zhonyas for mages and even tank armor items on squishies to get insane value and becoming that much tankier. I just want my duskblade and prawlers back.
Honestly, with what you said regarding zed and his roots really hit the nail. People keep complaining about why assassins dont deal any damage when in fact it's not the game's problem, but ours. Phreak does admittedly say some stupid stuff, but you cant lie when it comes to him snapping players back to reality; we've all just gotten too spoiled and refuse to adapt.
Yes but you have to calculate the worth of dealing 100-300 damage more instead of having Edge Of Night shield and bonus HP or having Serpent's Fang shield shredding and stuff like that...
Dont get me wrong, lethality is fun, thats why i make a hybrid build witha. Lethality item first and eclipse second because i like having the shield that will help me survive
im very split between going magical footwear and cashback magical footwear is 300g (+a bit of extra value from +10ms) at 12min (most likely a bit sooner), meanwhile cashback is 6%, that means you need 2 full items to get even and it picks up only after that my issue is that technically you COULD get more value from cashback in the long run, but footwear is a bigger value early and that helps with snowballing, it's also a pretty much guaranteed value even if you're behind
Bro sometimes u need early boots to dodge enemy laners skills and if you don't get too many scores boots come very late. Sometimes u just have 300 gold in the poket and there's not many items for 300 gold so u just NEED to buy boots but can't. Yeah ms is really important stat but gold is more important in this lethality zed.
@Leiteeeee22 i thought about how often i buy boots just because i have a bit of gold left, but as i thought about it i realised how comfy buildpath opportunity has, pretty much 3 longswords and pickaxe, from which you can make a dirk for 300, there's a lot of champs that have skills that you can dodge without boots and some have skills that you cant dodge without a dash, so i guess in some matchups you might go cashback if boots early are necessary and you'll have a really rough lane and be forced to back a couple of times, otherwise boots seem superior for snowballing, i think that makes sense

I played lethality once into 4 squishes, i got super fed and could burst anybody 100 to 0 but i noticed that i die more often since im 3x less tanky than a brusier would be, also the cds were very frustrating as im the guy that throws himself 1v3 or 1v4, collets one kill, damage the rest and run away, with lethality its always pick one and in most games it doesn't feel worth it but i will try full lethality for some games 2

This is true if your playstyle is all in and once u are in u don't care to die aslong as u got ur target. With CD% and survivability build u get to use your combo alot more, even thou its a lower dmg per combo, u get to use the combo's more in 1 fight which in theorie could lead to more total dmg. Althou u need to be a skilled Zed to utilize that play style, meanwhile most Zed player are about the all in style.
Boosted a friend from Bronze 4 to Gold 4 playing almost only Zed. 100% win rate 18 games with him, almost every game the core build is Voltaic -> Axiom with Electrocute. Only built Eclipse vs tank comp (3 tanks and a Gragas mid) Granted, this is pisslow ELO and I would win with bruiser Zed too but I did play 5-6 games on my smurf acc in Emerald and it performed well there too. It's real assassin damage. Axiom is slept on, easily the best item on a snowballing Zed. With Ultimate Hunter, Transcendence and Voltaic -> Axiom your ability to make game-defining plays is huge.
From this video I learned 2 things: The frist one is that Eclipse and the other non lethality items are actually overrated and giving me less damage and the second, and most important, JoJo music on Zed its OP as fuck

i was building hubris and opportunity as my first two items last two weeks and it was working fine for me but i will try for lethal zed for week i will enjoy oneshoting the adcs

I replayed lot of Faker's Zed this month and when he was match up with tanks he doesn't even trade with them in laning and only waits for squishies. This video reminded me that replays. Exactly great content from you man.

i dont like first strike unless you play vs almost full melle it doesnt give some crazy numbers in gold neither in damage it barely helps and when you get item a little bit quicker it might provide a kill so it could be more than just first strike face value in gold yet still is it really worth it when you can have conqueror or electro? i dont think so

Lethality isnt so bad Vs bruisers as well (against tanks it is bad obviously) But in teamfight imagine a bruiser with 40% hp left, you can burst him down.

i normally go conq runes with scorch and transendance and build eclipses well i only go conq if tankier team or if someone is meele mid and i can play extended trades cause i hit all my Qs is this good?
There's actually enough Lethality in the game now that unless you are facing a heavy armor builder like rammus or malphite, percentage is weaker than flat.

I like to go Cong and then build Voltaic + Black Cleaver (weird but it works for me). Voltaic so you can do some damage early and get some kills going, Black Cleaver to cleave all that armor later. (later you can go Axiom, Spear and Eclipse is also fine here)
I think not building Grudge ruined your experiment completely. Phreak never implied to not build Grudge. It's a core part of AD assassin builds regardless of whether or not it has Lethality.

Full lethality is harder to play, but more rewarding.

Yes but mostly ult reset and ability haste that u get from it. Zeds ultimate cooldown is pretty long without it.

I like to go Cong and then build Voltaic + Black Cleaver (weird but it works for me). Voltaic so you can do some damage early and get some kills going, Black Cleaver to cleave all that armor later. (later you can go Axiom, Spear and Eclipse is also fine here)

I think not building Grudge ruined your experiment completely. Phreak never implied to not build Grudge. It's a core part of AD assassin builds regardless of whether or not it has Lethality.
