So at the end of the game, you have option to replay the last mission as Anakin as opposed to Obi-Wan. Anakin kills Obi-Wan and then you'll see what Anakin does. I know it's old, but damn always nice to see an alternate ending like this. Wish they would have fleshed it out more.

TheDeathmail Vader was more of a tool, a pawn used by sidious to hunt and kill all other Jedi. Sidious didn't care for Vader all that much. In the movies, he wanted Luke to kill Vader so he could have Luke become his younger, stronger apprentice.

Also, I think he just wanted Luke to be a Sith, and killing Vader would have had a bigger impact compared to killing him and Luke was actually directly fighting Vader at the time anyways.
TheDeathmail yeah he definitely wanted Luke to be Sith. Had luke killed his own father, he probably would have turned like sidious did. Fun fact about the emperor: In order for Sidious to become a full fledged Sith Lord, he had to kill his own family.

Everyone’s joking, but does anyone realize how insanely dark this ending is. Without Obi-Wan, Luke and Leia would’ve never been born, either that or Anakin delivers them, and they’d be part of the dark side, leaving no hope whatsoever in the Galaxy.

True. But it's possible after killing Obi-Wan he became even more overcome with the dark side. I mean in the normal ending he became Vader and he still had a little bit of light in him. But maybe if this had happened he was able to be fully consumed by the dark side. Kinda like what Kylo Ren was trying to accomplish by killing his dad in Force Awakens. But anyways after being fully consumed by the dark side he probably expanded his goals and visions from beyond just saving Padme. Ya know because the dark side. I don't know, just a thought.
To be fair, Padmé is barely even mentioned in the game and her role in Anakin's turn to the Dark Side completely omitted, so it's all perfectly fine as far as the game's concerned.

RanaldSavage During the last part of the fight, Anakin ducked under Obi Wan's blade.... Which took me for a surprise, because usually games don't have neat little features like that.
RanaldSavage ea battlefront has no saber vs saber content for the most part but has the best gunplay of any star wars game I've ever played and possibly ever made.

The episode 3 novelization, mace windu sensed Palpatine's Shatterpoint (vulnerability) right before he fell to his death. Palpatine had complete faith in Anakin and his loyalty. That's probably why Palpatine did not sense when Vader threw him down the Death Star shaft in episode 6.
You know what? This probably would've been the ending if Lucas actually had shot the prequels first. Yes, we wouldn't have gotten the iconic version of Darth Vader we ended up getting, but then again, we would've gotten Anakin in his prime and as the ruler of the empire. It would've been difficult to write a story around that though (no Obi-Wan, Luke and Leia possibly raised by Anakin and taught in the ways of the dark side etc.).
And no more high ground and hello there.
But that would be an amazing story.

As cool as Ahsoka is she wouldn't stand a chance against Vader at his full Dark Side potential, given in this timeline his limbs aren't severed and he isn't burned alive, he would have become twice as powerful as Sidious. And keep in mind in Rebels Vader was still able to beat Ahsoka even with the burn damages that caused his peak potential to only be 80% of Sidious'. Not to mention with the assumption Vader takes Luke and Leia under his wing he would also have some of the most powerful force users in the galaxy serving him.

I once wrote a short AU about this though it's now lost to the ages.
Anakin finds Padme on the ship and brings her to Polis Massa as in the original ending. She has her children and loses the will to live but Anakin, through his sheer greed and fear of loss, reaches out with the force and uses his own life energy to FORCE Padme to stay alive even though she wants to die. They craft her an elegant black life support armor and return to Coruscant to tell of the Emperor's death and that he, the chosen heir of Emperor Palpatine, would now rule and stomp out the Jedi traitors. All hail Emperor Vader and Queen Padme. The coronation is performed and Luke and Leia are now the Imperial Prince and Princess.
Into the original trilogy they are now the Imperial Family. Emperor Vader, The Iron Queen (As People now know her. Amidala Skywalker has been corrupted by the dark side by her husband ), Darth Zorn, and Darth Siren. Without the leaders to guide them the Rebellion fights a losing war with Yoda coming out of hiding to help them. It all ends with an all out assault on the Imperial palace on Coruscant and just as on Hoth before it a desperate suicidal mind bomb. However with billions living on Coruscant it does more than just destroy all on the surface. So much energy to feed off of. It destroys Coruscant itself and plunges the Galaxy into an age of leaderless darkness.

To be honest if Anakin did kill Obi-Wan I don't feel like he would go as far as he did when Obi Wan defeated him. When Anakin was defeated he truely learnt he was in the dark side and even his mentor his guardian had witnessed him to to the dark side. If he had killed Obi-Wan he would live in regret and probably learn how wrong he was and would draw back. Anakin would like in sadness knowing he had killed his best friend the closest person to him. Even when Anakin help palps defeat Windu he highly regrets it even though he wasn't remotely close to Windu so imagine how bad he would feel if he killed Obi-Wan.
But after kill Windu, i don't think he feels sad, i think he feels like:
"There's no other way now, i kill a jedi, i cannot be a jedi anymore"
He fight against Obi-Wan after kill children. In this fight he is truly Darth Vader.
You may only be thinking over optimistically and denying the fact he had actually being seduced by the dark side
He might already be a different person there and power might have changed him
anakin/darth vader did live in regret. he regretted his actions, otherwise he would have never saved luke. he loved padme and he killed her, and it seems that caused him to feel as if he were at a point of no return, that he had no choice but to obey the emperor. had he killed obi wan then he would have been so big headed that he would have probably spiraled even further out of control. had he never became the man in the mask, he would probably have been much much worse than palpatine could have ever even imagined. him being burnt to a crisp knocked his ego down about 1000 notches, and caused him to become nothing more than an apprentice, a pawn in palpatines game. had he killed obi wan he would have been lost forever, and luke probably never would have pulled anakin back into the light.
plus in legends darth vader would sit in his chamber in his free time mourning padme and living in regret of his actions. that and plotting his revenge on obi wan. even in legends obi wan pisses him off and indirectly helps him turn to the dark side

Palpatine was unprepared for the situation in the end of the video. There was neither apprentice or master now. only the one.
But... Palpatine didn't get chance to teach him the ways of the darkside. Wasn't that the reason Anakin became Vader in the first place? It makes little sense for him to kill Palpatine immediately.

dodopoopinpoop I think the final act of episode 3 was the best the prequels ever got. Hayden Christensen was actually decent when he was evil, there was a good amount of emotion and the final fight was great. Whilst episode 3 had its flaws I'd say it was the best out of the prequels definitely
The final act of episode 3 is actually just good, by any of the films' standards, OT included. Hard to say because the final act just blows you away, but RotS is probably on par with the slightly poor RotJ for me, though of course a lot of what RotS has to offer is a vastly improved final lightsaber duel just due to advancements in film-making.
georockable yes sorry I worded that badly. When I said it was the best the prequels got I should have said that it was still great by normal standards. I would personally put RoTs above the rest of the prequels for that third act but below Rotj as I feel that film was consistently decent whereas episode 3 has only got the third act going for it. Of course this is my opinion and I'm glad you're not raging about like other fans

Ahh, gotta love that beautiful Anakin voice acting. So full of emotion. So convincing and heartbreaking. So like the movie.
When it comes to sword fighting games, this one takes the cake. The combos you could pull off in this game were sick, and everyone had their own moves. It's what has made me very hesitant to try Star Wars RP games. Best button mashing sword fighting game over ever played. And they even had MK style matchups for two player! How cool is that?! They need more Star Wars games with this type of shit and this much effort in the combat.

Salko Hrnjic Mace Windu has an adapted level of the 7th lightsaber form. He also has the ability to use the opponent's dark side energy against them. more powerful the sith, the more of an advantage Windu has. He has many advantages that Anakin does not.

The sad thing is, if Obi-Wan had talked to Anakin during their fight the way he did during the phase transition scenes here, Anakin probably would have begun to see that Obi-Wan really did care. Instead, Obi-Wan made it about him ("I have failed you") and then went straight down the self-righteous path ("you are lost"). Tragic.
I remember playing this. Underrated SW game. Certainly not on par with Rogue Squadron or the original Battlefronts, but still good.
Idk why but whenever im remembering old games that i played like this i always think of the games as having better graphics, then i watch the gameplay now and im like "oh shit i dont remember it even looking like that"
If only Lego Star Wars had a badass alternate cutscene like this, instead of just Obi-Wan stumbling then the normal one plays

I like this ending much more as it gives a more satisfying feel. With the sith winning, it gives that true feeling of satisfaction.

After doing some research, and frame by frame analysis, I confirmed that at 6:05 Anakin's ground was 0.4% higher than Obi wan's, therefore giving him the advantage he needed to strike.

I don't know why critics call this game only half-decent, it was one of the most highly developed PS2 games, let alone a highly-developed star wars game. i give it a 7/10, only because some of the game is underdeveloped, and can be frustrating at times
