I decided to start watching Succession in the middle of season three. I had resisted thinking that I didn’t want to watch a show about spoiled rich people. But I kept hearing such amazing things. Well, they didn’t begin to describe the masterpiece that this show was and is. I caught up and watched All the Bells Say as it aired for the first time and then I waited for the last season with bated breath. It was more than worth it. I am still stunned. Watching tv is a passive activity. Yet I will never forget watching episode three. It was like watching a tragedy in real time. I’m still gasping. RIP Logan Roy, you bastard.
Agreed, what a phenomenal piece of television. Very much appropriate to give it such a fantastic review. I'm very glad to have another video of this caliber from you again. Thank you for the shoutout to the technical achievements of this episode of Succession, as well as the directing, writing, and acting accomplishments. The camerawork definitely compliments the feeling of being caught off guard by the news. The level of coordination and methodology behind the major scene are mind boggling, with the final result being a great example of an impressive relationship that Mylod and Armstrong developed with the cast and crew. It's pretty incredible to see the conversation with Kieran Culkin, Matthew McFadyen, Jeremy Strong, and Sarah Snook play out in real time between all of them with the long take, with Matthew actually on the end of the line; you can almost see and feel how the great performances of each actor encourage one another. It's amazing ensemble/camaraderie work. This episode quickly became a hot mess of authentic vulnerability. You did a wonderful job highlighting the choices made in this episode to truly make it something special. Thank you again for coming back from your hiatus, PW. Missed you, buddy. (If you get a chance to read this and maybe respond to this, are there any upcoming television or movie premieres you're excited for?)
Hey man, thank you for the kind words! It's good to be back. :) About 2024: oof, this year in TV is gonna be rough, because of the strikes. But Tokyo Vice, House of the Dragon, True Detective, Hacks, Somebody Somewhere have new seasons coming up and I'm excited for them. Also curious about 3 Body Problem and Fallout, I'm cautiously optimistic they could be good. The movie side is a little bit better, but off the top of my head, I'd say Furiosa, Mickey 17, Hit Man, Nosferatu and Dune II are my most anticipated.
Yes, the Director said that Matthew was on the phonewith them. And then he shot the scenes on the plane later and he was so good, He was in it more than originally planned. But that playing out in real time was brilliant.
Thank you for this! When the show ended every channel was in a rush to upload generic takes and summaries but I could feel that we all needed to sit on what happened for a bit to get a true sense of what happened.
I can't believe it that Succession's Connor's Wedding is gives me Amphibia's True Colors Vibes! It's all started that we're having Easter Day since Sunday on middle of April in The Philippines and we're having afterparty watching the Series Finale of The Owl House which was wrap up and it turns out I saw Succession and it's completely viral on social media they said "Best Episode of the Series". While I was having making project in Reading and Writing then I watch Succession's Connor's Wedding which was Best Episode of the Series and then I got shock for this Moment that their father Logan Roy died that's why I completely shock while i was making project and this is just like i watch Amphibia Season 2 Finale which was True Colors and the moment that Marcy has finally reveal her truth that She and her best friend stay in Amphibia forever due to Marcy and her parents move to states that's why, Anne got Calamity Blue powers get activated, and finally Marcy got stabbed in the chest that's why I completely goosebumps in the Best Season Finale and that's why it's such a great episode that I ever watch same with Succession's Connor's Wedding, Great Episode and so very mind blown! 🤯😮👍🏻❤️
There are barely 5 episodes I can think of across anything I’ve ever watched that would top this episode. So much to love about it and such high replay value. Perfection
You covered a lot of what made this brilliant. These children were always separate from their father, so it was fitting that he was somewhere else when he died. But I do think Tom could be mentioned a bit more in terms of him being the liaison between the family and Logan. he was always caught between those two and now more than ever . Matthew was so great, he has that ability to give some compassion and there is not another character who could’ve done that.
Terrific Episode of television. But I honestly preferred the one two punch of Fishes and Forks from The Bear Season 2 as my favorite TV episodes of 2023
HBO has a hatred for weddings. This hit the same desperation as watching GOT's "The Red Wedding" episode.

A VERY fair take! If not for Connor's Wedding, Forks might've been my favorite episode of last year, The Bear S2 is all around just amazing.
