If you think about it, he hasnt been a scientist for over 100 years now. Sol was probably so different back in his youth we wouldnt even recognize him. But loss, war, depression and isolation has honed him into the gruff badass we know today
GG1 was the first game so it has a bit of early installment weirdness, latter games details more all the pre-GG1 stuff like the Crusades and backgrounds of the characters, but the tournament itself in GG1 still kinda feels a bit out of place lol
I kind of prefer this to the huge 3 hour recaps of every detail of the story. I think those kinds of videos have their place, but GG's story is incredibly melodramatic and over-the-top. Because of that, I think only focusing on the high points works very well -- the high points are probably the only things that have actual planning to them, lol.
Yeah I felt that same way, this was something I wish existed when I learned the lore by watching several videos, reading wiki’s, and the comics. I was too lazy to watch hours of RUclips content just to get the gist of the main plot.

Please do an Xrd recap the cutscenes are really heavy for someone of my attention span

There’s just something about Japanese video game stories (from jrpgs to all other manor of games) that’s just so different from western style, and I really like it, the world building, the weird complicated relationships between characters and just the vibes!
This game is pretty much how I see Anime in a nutshell. A bunch of really bizarre design ideas, some super badass characters, and a story that makes my brain hurt. That said, I'm really making an effort to get more familiar with Guilty Gear. The games are just too damn good to rob myself of the full enjoyment that comes with total investment in the characters.
Totally go for the rest or whatever bit of lore you like, you are a great narrator. Would be interested in your opinion on the story, also curious about Faust, his design is neat. I know a bit about bald Faust and madness stuff, but never ever touched any story mode.

The Syndicate(Originally created by Slayer, was taken over by Venom) arranged an incident wherein Dr. Baldy kills a girl in a routine surgery and gets blacklisted by the Medical Community. This makes Dr. Faust vulnerable to syndicate manipulation and he helps in researching how to put Forbidden Beasts into people. There's this whole thing with Millia and turning people like her so they can have an army, but I'm not quite clear on that. Anyways, they're first test was Zato and putting Eddie in him. Long story short, it works, and the Millia barges in, Zato and Millia fight, Dr. Faust finds out about the manipulation goes crazy, kills everyone and gets a reputation. Millia runs away, Zato fights Venom. Zato becomes the new Leader of the syndicate. Slayer shows up says some shit about dandy-ism and holds Zato to that ideology or else he comes back. The End
This is legit the most comprehensive story summary of the entire GG series. This will get you ready for the general plot of Strive. If you factor in all the deep lore, time travel, alternate time lines and other characters this series story gets way too complicated. Great work man!

And with this vid i noticed how this story has some actually really cool shit, like for example the concept of the backyard. I really like that< and some story parts were pretty neat too, but really with how long and melodramatic the story tends to be, it's hard to keep your interest on it. Again, thank you so much man, and by all means do a xrd recap, since it's by far the hardest ome to understand (atleast in my opinion)

I remember having the stick in my lap and watching TV to pass the time while hitting the "next" button to get through the hours of dialogue so I could finish the story and get the in-game currency reward because I wanted to buy more recolors. I reaaaally don't feel like going back and unironically trying to watch it all. Also, I, too, am tryna get folded by Dizzy.
