  • In Liverpool Sir Keir Starmer told the Labour Conference that he was shocked and appalled by 'the cold blooded murder of men, women and children, including British citizens by the terrorists of Hamas.'
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
On domestic policy Sir Keir Starmer pledged a 'decade of national renewal', and an end to what he called the 'stranglehold of Tory decline'.
He said a Labour government would 'bulldoze' planning rules to build 1.5 million new homes.
And he dismissed a protestor throwing glitter at the start by saying Labour was now a 'party of power not protest'.

There are two main political parties that vie to form a government. Currently, the Conservative party is in government and it's leader is the PM. Sir Keir is the leader of the Labour party, currently the opposition but hopefully in government after the next elections. 🤞

Compare the positive rhetoric this week to the dingyness and dispare of the other conference a few weeks ago, I know which of the two I'd far rather have, and which has a greater chance of making some sort of improvement, and who won't just add more fuel to the fire.

Protester drops glitter on him, not to disturb him but to make him shimmer. Then says democracy is citizen led, completely true statement.
What's starmers reaction? Bro gets literally dragged of stage (which has to be assault) and starmer puts on some weird hard man act and completely discounts everything that was said. 😂 What a joke Starmer is.
Then he goes on to say he'd slash the NHS, spend a bunch of money to make the deficit bigger, and build out not up destroying all that wilderness and habitat people want to preserve. 😂 And with each thing he says, fewer and fewer of the people in his own party clap, because they can see what a train wreck his platform is.
Labour need a new leader if they want any chance of winning the next election. And not Angela Rayner either. Someone with actual ideas, someone who genuinely understands the mood on the street and what the protester was talking about. Unfortunately for Labour they don't have any of those visionaries left.

I think it quite unlikely labour would get 2 terms when the offer is tory lite, competence and moving very slowly, claiming tories can’t tax more or raise money in any way for public services. People want substantial investment. My own mother who is far less radical than me, wants fairer taxes.
If you Don’t offer much different, the tories could just produce their own centrist candidate and snatch it back. Keir Starmer doesn’t have likeability or charisma and is thought of as shifty, duplicitous and insincere which is a downer. However if the tories go hard right with suella B, they could continue to gift it to labour.
