Pancake Ground lol love that. That first boat you came across looked like it was stuck on the rocks, however, I'm sure it wasn't. Great Paddle Patrik and once again some spectacular views and footage, and wow you picked the right day for it. The kayak gods must have been smiling at you with such calm waters. Been saying it for a few year now But one day I will have to come over so you can show me some of those amazing spots.
@@THE-RIVER-RAT Indeed - a funny name. During the last day's briefing as I led the group I pointed out that we need to lay the groundwork for a good paddle, or it's all gonna pancake (Swedish expression), so we obviously need to pass by the Pancake Grounds. The boat was just anchored there, I believe. It was indeed perfect to have these conditions - not a good idea go go solo paddling when it's rough in this area! You'd be most welcome to Stockholm George, and I/we would be happy to show you around 😎
@@Celisar1 Hi! It depends what you're going to use the kayak for, how frequently, and which factors are important to you. To me the X500 is better all-round, but here's an answer I gave recently: Both are good inflatable kayaks with very high performance for an IK. The EVO has the advantage of being lighter and having the option of purchasing an add-on skeg, but the disadvantage of more time-consuming setup and a coaming that is much less reliable for a spray skirt in demanding waters. I give the X500 the advantage for ease of use and setup, while the EVO has some technical paddling advantages in some situations. If you look at the Airfusion EVO and Itiwit X500 playlists on this channel (under "playlists" on the main page) you can find a lot of videos and info on each kayak.
@@AirOnTheWater I paddled the X500 and it perform very well, but I have to remark an annoying behaviour: the kayak turns the bow inwind and "insea" even with light winds and waves. Is it the same for EVO?
@@karenb_ca Hi Karen! It's a lightweight two-piece carbon fibre wing paddle. A bit too high volume really, but it works. At the slow relaxed pace I was paddling here, a euro paddle would have been better, but the connectors on two of my paddles need repairs!
This was a relaxed paddle. What was your nicest sea kayaking trip in the last year or two?
This look like a dream i had once and one of my favorites
@@Lighthouse29501 Nice! Kayaking in the archipelago can be quite dreamy, especially in special light, fog or certain conditions.
Sure enjoyed that video, Patrik. Together with that music it seemed a relaxing outing
@@gittasteffes2288 Yes, this was really calm and relaxing 😎 This area can have some crazy waves otherwise, but this was unusually peaceful!

What would you rather recommend? This kayak or the Itiwitt X500? And what are your pros and cons if I may ask?

Patrik, what paddle are you using in this video? Is it a 4 piece paddle?
@@sergio966 Once you stop paddling the EVO does the same, unless you purchase the optional add-on skeg, which will keep it straight!
