Boston is an outstanding foodie town! Seafood of course but the most outrageous pizza you will ever eat! Yes Boston pizza is better than Chicago pizza hands down!
I visited Boston,Massachusetts last year for one week in October of 2023❤❤❤I visited some of these amazing places that is mentioned in this remarkable video in 2023❤❤❤
I've lived near Boston for over 30 years. I've never heard anyone refer to the North End as "Little Italy". Yes, it is an Italian neighborhood with lots of great restaurants. But we just call it the North End, not Little Italy.
Things I loved about living in Boston's Back Bay: 1: Newbury Street 2: Omni Parker House Hotel (the longest continuously operated hotel in America) Famous for creating Boston Cream Pie, Parker House Rolls, and coining the phrase "Schrod, as in "catch of the day".My mother told me that Schrod (with an H) was haddock, and Scrod (without the H) was cod. 3: Walking along the Comm Ave "mall." 4: The Charles River 5:Copley Square 6: The Boston Public Library. I'll think of more. BRB...
I’ve always been fascinated by Boston and I’ve always wanted to visit with my family. I just need to figure out how much I should save up to visit with two adults and one child, as well as how many days we should devote to visiting to see everything and finding somewhere to stay for each night. It’s going to be an undertaking but we’ve never left our home state to explore the U.S, and I told my wife the first place I want to see is Boston.
One of the best things about Boston is that if you are reasonably healthy, it is an entirely walkable city. You can visit the Public Garden/Boston Common (next to each other), the North End and the USS Constitution entirely on foot. I could go on a long rant about the very brief nature of the video, but I appreciate the effort. One thing I have to mention is that is that the USS Constitution is unique not because it is the oldest ship afloat, but because it is the oldest COMMISSIONED ship. It is still on the active roll of the US Navy and is staffed by current US Navy crews.
It's not the oldest ship afloat - that goes to HMS Victory in England which, unlike Old Ironside, is decommissioned - but it is still older than Old Ironsides as it was launched in 1765 and Old Ironsides in 1797. BTW - you will find many articles and statements on the internet claiming Old Ironsides to be the oldest vessel "afloat" - and these are just factually incorrect.
Cheers was not filmed there, however it WAS based on The Bull and Finch Pub. It's actually very different from the Cheers set. There was a restaurant that was Faneuil Hall adjacent that was a replica of the Cheers set. Many people from outside of Boston thought it was the actual Cheers.
On occasion they did film some exterior scenes outside the bar. Frasier was going to comit sucide, Where they meet John Kerry and mistake him for a news reporter, Cliff and Norm making Frasier's cae alarm going off, They meet the Kennedys and many more some of these are uploded on You Tube.
Boston, is the best 😊 but every time i am up in Mass. it's one of two routes from Logan International, and that's Ted Williams Tunnel to I93 South or Callahan Tunnel to Tremont Street to Columbus Avenue enroute to the Almighty Roxbury, Dorchester, Matapan, Jamaica Plains Empire
Me I am a die hard boston celtics red sox and bruins fan me I am basically boston sports fan I respect people not there team new England patriots me I am a little bit new england revolution soccer fan hey I do respect all sports celtics bruins and red Sox !!!
What were the names of the restaurants he ate at? Everything looked so fresh, so delicious, and so decadent. What a beautiful city! Can’t wait to visit!
Beutiful Boston !!! And it's best places to visit Classic City, with a distinctive character and charming city !!!. The Gold City of New England and historic sites. Thank you so much for the invitation and tour ❤️ 💕 💗
Everyone from Boston has their favorite pizza shop in the north end. Regina’s Pizza is my personal favorite. They have amazing brick oven pizza. Beware though, there’s always a line.
I think Santarpio’s in East Boston is better, easy to get to via the blue line train, one stop to from The Aquarium station to Maverick Square, 6 minute walk.
Thank you for all the detail very well put together. I will be making a trip in June and was wondering if you had any insight on whether or not Boston and most of its locations are dog friendly. Not talking service dog.
Are there any skinny people in Boston?! Food looks delicious 🤤. Haven’t been to Boston since 2001 but seeing this I can’t wait to get back again, great video 👍😊❤️
Welcome to America's History cradle. Best fried clams on the planet on Massachusetts north shore they come from salt water marshes. Boston still uses it's Gas Lamps from (1828) The Omni Parker House at 14:08 is were Boston Cream Pie was created and is still served there since (1856)
@@internalhappiness5238what the fuck are you talking about🤣metro areas are not just a thing that northern cities do. Even small cities in the south do that, like Greensboro for example. Atlanta does have a metro area btw and it has a population of over 6.4 million people.
@0:00 Ok my familyline is from Boston, but I grew up in Key West,Florida and Jacksonville, FL thanks to the US Navy and my dad skills on rebuilding jet engines. I moved here in 2001. Let's see your Best Thing...compared to my best things. GO..GO Edit 1: Goto Saugus, MA and see Saugus Iron works open daily during the summer from 9am to 5pm. Hit Salem, MA and all the haunted things that go bump in the night. (Don't go near halloween...place is a mad house) But Salem, MA has the Bit Bar...a bar dedicated to old style video game cabinets. Really worth checking out...but parking in Salem, MA is a mess.
For a day trip, going Plimouth Plantation, now called Pawtuxet, is very educational, fun and interesting. Have a list of questions about the Pilgrims and enjoy being part of the Pilgrim experience with historical characters. Also the Wampanoag village is attached to it. Great experience.
Dear MS Hi,How is everything. Nice eating places, including lots of fresh sea food. Best Wishes and Profound Regards Ch Zaheer Babar Warraich Advocate.
I’m moving to Boston from a small town in Texas. Big cities scare me but I hope to find some good book stores there, museums, and pizza. Any recommendations for those?
Books: Brookline Booksmith, Harvard Bookstore, MIT PRESS Bookstore, Porter Square Books. Pizza: Regina’s, Frank Pepe, Many places in Northend (little Italy). Museum: I’ve only been to 1, but it was pretty amazing, Isabella Stewart Gardener Museum. Welcome to Boston!!
I can't help you regarding book stores. Unless you count libraries in which the Boston public library next to trinity church is pretty cool. For museums I personally like the museum of fine Arts and museum of science. For pizza the top 2 best are arguably most famous are Santarpio's in East Boston and Reginas in the north end.
Brattle Street Bookstore - meet the proprietor, Ken Gloss, who you will often see appraising books on Antiques Road Show. It's going to be a big change - get used to everything being "old". :)
Go to Da Nang, Nha Trang, or Phu Quoc in Vietnam, and you can eat better lobsters, oysters, and other seafood that are more delicious at cheaper prices while you enjoy some breathtaking views of the beaches and surrounding areas.
Fairly good description. The Old North Church was shown briefly, but the historical significance was not mentioned. “One if by land, Two if by sea!” You should mention that a large part of Chinatown was actually the Combat Zone and what that was until about the 1990s Lol. And a short jaunt across the bridge to Cambridge would be very interesting, as well as a train ride to Quincy to visit John Adams’ house.
Not only Boston's state House has a gold dome. it signifies a US President was born in Boston or whichever state produced a US President.gets to have the gold dome
Not for no for nothing, a great show, small point it would be nice if at the being you could state your name as part of the intro. not meant as a criticism, just something to think about.

Jeff, Great tour of Boston, another place I haven't experienced. Thanks 🛫
Boston is really beautiful, and a fascinating place to visit. But in the winter it has the coldest weather I have ever experienced.

Great video look forward to being there!!!!
The reason This Old House was always around New England is because it was produced by WGBH which is the public television station in Boston.
Thank you for all the detail very well put together. I will be making a trip in June and was wondering if you had any insight on whether or not Boston and most of its locations are dog friendly. Not talking service dog.

Greetings from Atlanta! The Big Peach, the big city of the South!🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑
your not from Atlanta. If you were you'd know that Atlanta is small and doesn't claim metro areas like northern cities. You're not even Southern.

Cannolis from Modern instead of Mike’s. Bold choice. Don’t get me wrong, Modern is amazing, but come one cannolis are what Mike’s does.
