Ali Siddiq is a stand-up comedian, public speaker, and writer out of Houston. Ali’s unique style of stand-up began behind the walls of incarceration, an incubator for interesting experiences and good stories.
People received their first taste of Ali Siddiq when he appeared on HBO's DEF COMEDY JAM and LIVE FROM GOTHAM, and in 2013 he was named Comedy Central's "#1 Comic to Watch". In 2014, Ali impressed comedy enthusiasts by displaying his ability to captivate an audience with his "Mexicans Got On Boots" tale, descriptive storytelling, with over 15 million views, of a prison riot on THIS IS NOT HAPPENING, the first of three appearances. His stories continued with his HALF HOUR special, which premiered on Comedy Central in the fall of 2016. Immediately following the premiere of that special, Comedy Central offered Ali an hour-special where he performed for inmates live in a Texas jail, sending Ali back to where it all started. The hour special, Ali Siddiq: It’s Bigger Than These Bars, premiered in February 2018 on Comedy Central. In 2019, Ali could be seen as a Top 5 finalist on NBC’s BRING THE FUNNY. Most recently, Ali could be seen as a guest on THE JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE. - Приколы
"With a comma" roflmao 😂😂 I know I feel old now cause I had a huffy growing up they cost in that 80 range lol
Same! I had a purple huffy 😂😂😂
I def had my purple huffy 4eva lol@@deedeesmexilife861
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I had a huffy as a kid with a banana seat. Today the seat on my bicycle costs more than my old Huffy.
Shitty bikes are still $80. Race bikes are expensive. Always have been. All race vehicles are. Google “cost of F1 car”
As a black cyclist here in Atlanta where the community is growing quite rapidly, this is beyond relatable lol. I considered getting my Tarmac SL6 Comp at $1700 cheap since it was $5500 new lol.
Bruh, as a Puerto Rican cyclist up here in New York, I got a 14.9lb Cannondale SuperSix EVO with full Dura-Ace 9100. He'd have a heart attack if he knew what I paid for it! 😂
@@YankeeWoodcraftYou probably exceeded 5K 😂
🇨🇺🇵🇷🤜🏽🤛🏽
Soooo relatable🤣🤣🤣. New York cyclist, Brookyn
@@TheLegendaryAryeh 😂 #FACTS
Wth my car wasn't worth that much how can the bike possibly be worth 5k?
“Man, take this bike OFF of me!” like it’s a dog. Hahahaha
"It's on there!" - classic bike shop employee response!
Ali knowing SKU numbers is HILARIOUS. He *forreal* worked retail 🤣🤣🤣
He'd punch me in the throat if he knew how much my bike build was. LMAO
how much? One of mine is up to $7k and thats cheap!
Yeah, you can get a top of the line Pinnerello Dogma, S-Works, or Trek Madone or a decent used car 🤣😂.
7k for a motorcycle not that bad @sawyerramos
um... bicycle@@ProverbialBeastENT
That's a SKU number! 🤣🤣🤣
Ali doesn't even tell jokes....He just tells you his life....Its funny enough.
life be so crazy its funny
"YOU GOT TA LEARN" 😂😂😂😂😂
Showed this to my cycling club and a bunch of us are now going to be at the April 5th show here in Atlanta lol.
My 1st time at a real bike shop, thought I could get a great bike AND all new gear for $500. Cheapest bike in there was 3x that... No pedals.😂
Walmart actually has legit bikes now, they hired some pros
@@KO-sx9uy No they don't. They got bikes that'll fall apart if you try to ride them for an extended amount of time.
@@monunyabidness5949 Yeah? Then how did I ride my Walmart Axum at the literal bike park and on black trails over the past couple of years? You're out of the loop man, the geometries on some of the hardtails are more aggressive than similar big brand bikes (they're all modern 1x with slack head tube and steep seat angles). Look up the Schwinn Axum, Ozark Trail, and Kent Trouvaille and compare with the low end big brand bikes.
@@KO-sx9uy lmao Walmart bikes?? now that is real comedy !! 😉. I watched some reviews of Walmart mountain bikes going down one mountain and suspension was so poor it nearly injured the rider.
I mean shit my rear shock was $600
My hubby is a cyclist and this is so relatable. It's an expensive lifestyle to keep up with! LOL
Tell me about it
only if you make it expensive. if you do it as a way to replace going to the gym it becomes cheaper. as long as they don't go around blowing their tire. I bought one for $400 it was an older model all I had to buy after was a set of tires and a new chain.
@@aegis062yep bought an older Schwinn for around $300 second hand, changed the tires brake pads and lights I take it out 3 times a week and I love it.
Frame 5k, bib 250, socks, 25 a pair, gel gloves 75, carbine water bottle cage 100, saddle 400, wheels 2k..
Most of the nice bikes start at $5,000 and go to $10,000.This does not even include the gear such as hemet, gloves, clothing, lights, pedals, bike rack, water bottle etc.
"You got to learn" 🚴♂💨🤣
As a cyclist this hit my soul lol
Lmao... Take the bike off of me😅😅😅😅
😂😂😂
😂🤣😭❤️
So relatable. Cycling can be prohibitively expensive. Thats why dentists have the nicest gear. Haha
The thing about a cheap Walmart bike is: does gear 1-7 work or does the chain fall off if you shift too far? Does the brake caliper not release when you let go, so now you pedal with a break pad touching the wheel? Does the front wheel wobble? Usually 2-3 things like that happen.
Those happen, but I fixed that ez. I made my Walmart work, but I didn't lube it.
Had to change a tire or get it straighten out by by bike shop
😂😂 I have to see Ali live
And here I am wanting to get back into bike riding lol where the old Huffys at? 😂
1:13 😂😂 I see folk like that all the time during my travels… GREAT spirits happy folk, but that pelvic thrust when they get excited about something 🤣🤣🤷🏿♂️- I love this special too 💯😎
"you gotta learn".. took off!! haha
As someone who got into cycling a few years ago, this is fucking hilarious to me lmao I learned this when I started playing guitar and it made sense when I bought my first race bike “they’re not toys, they’re tools” had to drop 4k to get everything I needed
There has to be a movie you could make about Ali moving to suburbia
Would definitely pay to see that.
It's called Next Friday.
Ali should hit me up l can write it. Actually how do l find him? Better question
Best life advice @5:25, "You got to learn!!!!!!"😂
Same way…when I went to a bike shop I was also shocked with the prices since I always had Walmart type bikes. I also had no idea Fuji makes bikes. I bought one for my first road bike and still use it as my indoor trainer. Another thing that shocked me was bikes didn’t come with a kickstand and pedals 😅
The part about the kickstand and pedals is actually kind of nice when you know ahead of time. You can buy exactly what you want without having to pay for the kit you don't want.
I live in the southern suburbs of Chicago, but I decided to take this girl I was dating on a cruising date as just something to do in the short time we had since she's not from the states etc... that's another story, but this is what we did, and I figured we'd cruise around in a ritzy area to see some fancy houses. So, we drove up to Wilmette on a summer Saturday morning. Beautiful homes, twisty, hilly roads, nice cars, very uppity neighborhood... what I wasn't expecting was all the cycling groups! They were taking over the roads around there! Every few minutes there's another cycling team hustling around the bendy roads going at least 25mph. Clearly this is a rich people activity and clearly these people live in a different reality from the rest of us in the Chicagoland area. It's evident Ali lives in a ritzy area lol
Lol😂 oh my I watched and laughed so much, thank you ❤
This video just made my day
😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Best wishes from Brazil
As a biker and person who loves comedy, I love this Joke😆, and yes, riding SPD pedals is a learning curve and takes practice....and yes, cycling is the most expensive sport 😩
Most expensive? Not even close. There are plenty of people who spend what a high end bike and all the kit cost EVERY YEAR for membership in clubs to play golf or tennis tennis. Plus $20 to $100 in greens fees every time they go out. The road is free.
Unless you're one of those people who must have the latest and greatest all the time, a bike can last for decades. Good quality kit can last for years. Consumables like tires and chains last for months, even for hard core riders.
Man, I used to live in Houston, but specifically the Heights and anyone from there or has ever visited knows that is cyclist central. EVERYONE got bikes. My dumbass said ima get one too goddamit! Took my naive ass up to the local shop (oh and there are many) and my first bike since I was a teen that I could find for the cheapest price was $1700. I was mind blown at how much them damn bikes cost.
I feel this lmao, thats why I sick to flat pedals. Hope you're enjoyin the bike though. it's nice to blast around on for exercise.
Team ali!!!!!!yall aint got the time too even be late on time!
Lol
So much great material!!
Cannondale and a Felt here. So true 😂
What a great talent. Need to watch him. Good laugh for sure.
You're one of the best out here Ali! Love your style and delivery
thank you for brining a smile to my face today
As an avid moutain biker, I can tell you I've spent well over 20,000k on bikes in my life
You aint have to tell me that. Nope! Didn't need to know 🥹
Definitely relatable when I got into cycling a couple of years back.
Wow you remind me of Dave Chappelle man. I think I've found a new favourite comedian 😂
“you gotta get out them shoes”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bruh, now you have me considering getting into this as my midlife crisis hobby 😂😂
Great bit!
Ali you are incredible 🥰🙏🏻❤️
Lol, always start with flat pedals. Hell, I've got the clipless kit and I'm still riding flats even though I've been riding my new bike for like 150mi. It's just too much to learn and get used to at the same time. You're pretty much guaranteed to wreck.
I just bought my first gravel bike… you convinced me. Putting some spare bmx pedals on it for the first lil bit t’il I am at least used to the handling.
@@devinbyrnes8058 good plan. With no suspension, you might want to keep something like RedShift Sports Shockstop stem and seat post in mind. I can say from personal experience that the seat post is a night and day difference on my 26mi round trip commute
Lol he said you got to learn😂😂😂😂😂😂
$35,000 can only get you an entry-level bike
3500
$3,500 I meant to say
I appreciate the correction
$35,000
Are you poor?
$35,000
Are you poor?
Dude cracked me up!!!
Lmao this is so accurate
Just found out about you, my man you are hilarious.
😂😂😂 this reminds me of when Martin bought Gina's ring and said, "...somebody left they social security number..."
$349.00 for Walmart bike...i return them after 90 days.
$10,000. Also
Ali I hope your tour is Going the way you want it to?
I ❤ Me some Ali Comedy 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
you got to learn! LOL yo 💀
Mexican got on boots
😂💀🔥Ali a true comedic genius
Started riding during the Pandemic and went through the same sticker shock. Lol. Since then, I have upgraded to an even more expensive bike, but refuse to wear clipless shoes for this reason.
Too damn funny lol
YOU GOT TO LEARN 😂😂😂😂😂
For non cyclist out there one of the main reasons these bikes are so expensive is the materials they are made of and the tech. Most bikes in the $3,500 dollar range and up are made of carbon fiber. The shifters are electronic. To change gears just press a button and almost all newer bikes now have disc brakes instead of rim brakes. Most of these bikes are in the 15 to 20 pound range in weight. A bike bought at Walmart or Target is gonna be old tech, cheap parts and will weigh in the 30 to 50 pound range. The more you know.
OR...and hear me out here, I can spend $5k on a motorcycle that goes much faster, stops almost as fast, and is 10x as fun as a bicycle.
@@xbmcme9768 A lot of the fun of serious cycling is feeling like you're the engine, feeling yourself putting out the power. You're not the engine of a motorcycle
that's not what it is. it's the price Americans are willing to pay for it. American labor is very expensive and all the custom crap you can configure costs alot of money because there's no factory/standardization to lower costs
@@xbmcme9768 same. kawi zx-6r with 130hp for like half the price of one of these "Race" bicycles lol. the bicycle market is just ridiculously inflated because retired/affluent americans are obsessed with it and there's no factory standardized manufacturing to produce amazing tech at low prices
@@ShredST it's not fun hitting the pavement in spandex and no face protection though. i have no idea why cyclists think that's a good idea to ride like that
Not a SKU number 😭🤣
It's so funny but it hurts because it's so true!!! I have a bike that's $1300 more or less and it's still considered "budget bike". Honestly the problem is that brands keeps launching "super pro" stuff thats waaaay to expensive but since it's "pro" a lot of people want it so they keep selling expensive shit with a "pro" on its name
The upshot is that because they keep having to upgrade the super pro bikes, the good parts end up getting the handmedown treatment and after a couple years the super pro kit ends up on the more budget-friendly bikes.
@@chaseweeks2708that’s true but cyclists idea of budget and the average Americans idea of budget have a significant gap.
Some of the crowd disrespectful af having full blown conversations in the back
Props for going head in with clipless and a mid range bike. At that price I’m thinking entry level carbon.
You can break your ankles trying to unlock your shoes!
If you don't adjust the tension properly, sure.
Relatable! 4 years into road biking and 4 bikes, each more expensive then the last one 😢
Get this bike off of me 😂
In all seriousness, as cyclist, the outrageous price bikes even for a beginner really pisses me off. It's a huge barrier of entry for people looking to get into the sport, especially for people of color. Things need to change!
😂 sku number!!!
You Funny for real. supersalute
😅😅😅 as a someone who bikes a lot (a “cyclist”) this shit is hilarious. The bike industry is such a scam. Especially at nicer bike stores, the sales guys are like what car sales guys were like 30 years ago. Slimy as hell.
I've learned that in exchange for people having more money than they need for core necessities, other people have to create things for those people to spend money on. Socks? $5 to $500. Bed? $500 to $50k. Consumerism. 🤷🏾♂️
The fact that people spend upwards of $10k for something on wheels with no engine is absolutely wild
Bruh bikes so expensive u could just get a damn car 😂
That's a sku number 😂😂😂
😆Mexicans won't try the bike in the parking lot either. My dad once bought a bike for 8 kids to share and it went straight into the car.
Man, I've biked my entire life, with no car, and I'm still never going to lock myself into it or pay a number with a comma lol. There's a stop light every block and then I have to get off and pick up groceries, idk where these people are going.
My bicycles cost as much as a nice motorcycle. The prices these days are absurd.
🤣🤣🤣 I despise those shoes too but I didn't even need to buy them hehehhee
Hilarious :D
Man just take the bike off me 😅
ROTFL!! Sticker shock is real when you are starting out. You can get one of those $80 bicycles, but you need to keep those in the driveway. ROTFL!! I have a Trek and the clip ins really do help once you get used to them. #BlackGirlsDoBike - is a national organization.
This was so relateable and im not even on a brand-new budget.. I'm all about 2nd hand where possible, even including parts if they're in good cond.. And even still, as both a Down Hill Mountainbiker, & a roadbiker (minus lycra lol), i still joke that if i had a meth habbit rather than a cycling habbit i would have more spare money haha! No matter what, there's always, always something that needs repaired or things that you want voluntary upgrades on, especially with mountainbiking because you litterally break parts regularly & need to replace them.. Which would still be the same whether i spent a dentist budget or a construction labourers budget on a bike.. In many ways a drug habit would actually be cheaper haha! But the prices that some people pay for bikes & upgrades is just absolutely ridiculous!
community mailbox! 😅😅😅
You'll break your hip riding a $69 bike🤣
Does it squirt water in your mouth? 😂😂😂
$3500 is a bit on the low end.
I started with a $900 Scott that was used and about 7 years old. This was a little before the pandemic. I upgraded in 2020 to a $4500 Trek, and it helped to keep me sane and active throughout the lock-in. I did four laps around Central Park every night from 10:00 to about 1:00 a.m.
I now ride a Cervelo S5 with five thousand-dollar Zipp Wheels $400 tires and a $600 seat.
Bike total with all components plus $25,000. But I've competed in every Gran Fondo since I'm in the best shape of my life and doing my first Iron Man this year.
I've always worked out and has always been very lean but the type of endurance and energy you get from riding is like nothing else
I just purchased a carbon Trek Slash 9.8xt and it was a pretty penny. I also bought a Santa Cuz 5010 carbon for my son. Biking can be expensive.
Ted.....what a guy!
I sold all types: from Raleigh on a bike path to full custom, made-to- order titanium.
I remember seeing Volkswagens for $1,999.99 for decades: mine was $20,000.
I also fitted the cleats, and MADE people learn them. It's easy: " Do you want to show off, then fall off, hurt yourself and the new bike? You know they'll tell your wife. "
Then, everyone gets it with one side: "MASTERED!!"
Nope . Now, the other side. Complete inability.
When I told them they were done, they didn't fall.
They still want a 12 pound bike with electronic shifting for $200.
Bike prices are crazy!! Had a Cannondale cause I won it! #mygriot
He’s right & I have to admit biking is fun & a great workout. I do off road here in Miami FL & let me tell you it’s no joke. I’ve got a Trek Top Fuel 5 & I was shocked at the price when I got it too. +$3,000 but I honestly love using it. 😂😂😂😂 very funny stuff.
It’s wild how some people won’t shut the fuck up during the entire bit
No kidding they pay to see a comedian but they have a conversation
Bruh! I'm wearing headphones and I'm ready to hop through the screen and tell this woman to stfu! Why do people go to performances to have conversations?? Got to a lounge if you want to catch your friends up on your little comings and goings.. 😒
Lebron James and Barry Bonds are big time cyclists. Lebron is a major shareholder with Cannondale. That being said, racing bikes are ridiculously expensive. The pro’s ride bikes in the $15k range. Handmade carbon fiber frames and wheels, electronic shifting, etc. there’s a crazy amount of technology in a rich man’s (or women) sport. It’s like skiing and golf.
Makes me feel old I remember when that was what you paid for a car.
He is not lying. I've seen bikes for 10K.
I WISH Y’ALL RECORD FROM THE PA BOARD SO WE WANT HEAR THEM PPL TALKING ALL IN THE BACKGROUND
God dammit Ted, bein just the worst cycling enthusiast xD
I ride bikes and the prices still surprise me 😂😂😂
I used to be a bike thief, and ever since I started stealing high-end bikes, I never wanted to ride a cheap bike again, so now I buy expensive bikes.
Ha lol 😆 🤣
Reminds me of Rod Man
