@@gingerfox7143 No they aren't. The international criminal court (ICC) at The Hague has issued arrest warrants for Russia’s ex-minister of defence and current army chief of staff for alleged war crimes in Ukraine after a missile campaign targeting Ukrainian power plants and other civilian infrastructure during the full-scale invasion.
Ex-minister of defence Sergei Shoigu and the chief of the general staff of the Russian armed forces, Valery Gerasimov, are accused of the war crimes of directing attacks at civilian objects and of causing excessive incidental harm to civilians or damage to civilian objects. They are also accused of crimes against humanity.

A while back in the aftermath of the terrorist attack on the concert hall in Russia I made a prediction that the looming defeat of the West in its proxy war with Russia in Ukraine would inexorably drive it to resort to guerilla warfare sprinkled with intermittent doses of terrorists attacks on Russian targets inside Russia. That's a given, given the diabolical inclinations of Western powers that blew up Russian undersea gas pipeline back in 2022. Without scruples or moral constraints, it's difficult to put anything past the desperate Western amoral political leadership. No act is too vile or too crude for it as the end justifies the means in its tactical and strategic geopolitical calculus. Well, here we are again with yet another vile terrorist attack clearly targeted on civilians deep inside Russia with US supplied ATACM missiles in clear violation of international law. Yes, the loud and strident apostles of a "rule-based international order" are the first to violate international law; without blinking an eye. Let that realization sink in for a moment to appreciate the gross, unfathomable hypocrisy of the West, which thankfully, the global majority has since come to terms with. The problem though is this: terrorism against Russia will not help the West win its proxy war against Russia, quite the opposite will happen, with Ukraine paying a heavy price for it. However, the collective West itself rather its Ukraine proxy, will pay a far bigger price in the end with the loss of its global hegemony and clout. As Russia moves to militarily and diplomatically run rings around the West globally, the script is getting flipped from Russian or China containment to Western containment by the West, in reverse. The West is coming off as the biggest loser in this global realignment of forces. Hello, it's already happening in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and yes, the Middle East. That's a complete global encirclement of the West by Russia and China heralding a boomerang of its containment policies against China and Russia. Desperate losers embracing terrorism against innocent civilians!

Yield doesn't scale linearly with weight so the "missing the building to get better blast" is nonsense. They just missed because aiming a bomb like this is very hard. American military is infamous for targeting civilians. In WW2 US B17 fire bombed Hamburg and Dresden, both cities having very little military value. The ensuing fire tornadoes incinerated nearly 500,000 German men, women, children, and babies. Next, USA nuked two Japanese civilian cities, Nagasaki and Hiroshima, both have very little military value. In the Vietnam War US B52 carpet bombed civilian neighborhoods in Hanoi and Haiphong. USA committed the infamous gruesome and horrific war crimes in South Vietnam now known as the Mei Li Massacre - the atrocity is preserved as part of the U.S. legacy in Vietnam in the photographs of babies, their mothers, and elderly men butchered by the U.S. soldiers. USA waged an environmental warfare that sprayed millions of gallons of Agent Orange, a known carcinogen that causes chronic disease and heart-breaking birth defects in many future generations of fetus and baby. Finally, the USA annihilated millions of native Americans-- dozens of tribes became extinct and most of the survivors are herded into “Indian reservation camps” where many subsist on government hand-outs. Summary: USA has a long history of committing war crimes with impunity.

Give credit where it's due -- Mercouris is correct about Putin's response to provocation. There is the "American cowboy" style response to provocation, which many frustrated people, tired of this war, would like to see. But then there's the Russian "diplomatic" style response, which may not seem as strong, but it will hit the Americans much harder in time. An example would be Putin's cooperation pact with North Korea, and the upcoming one with Iran. These may not have the excitement of a retaliatory bombing of a NATO base, but they will have a much bigger impact on this war in the long term. Once again, the West plays checkers while Putin plays three-dimensional chess.

Your description of what the FAB 3000 usage is exactly what I was thinking when I saw the first one, video, look at that again and look at the surrounding buildings, especially the video on the square as it were, I think that was the first video, anyway, the surrounding buildings are blown inside out! So that was my thinking of their use.

In my humble opinion, retaliation of the Crimea strike should be directed at the US, and if it involves casualties, they should be US government officials. I don't know if Crimea strike was actually directed at civilians -- probably not. But there is no moral justification for arming Ukraine (well, I might start calling it Kyiv regime) at all, and giving them offensive weapons is essentially waging war against Russian civilians. Americans are the adults and they should know better.

In this respect I think Alexander is wrong: that is if you never react to a bully you always invite more bullying. Russia's non-reaction to US provocation has done nothing to stop the escalations. And the escalations will continue until the Russians do react. Yes there is a small risk but also a big reward. Russia is losing credibility, most importantly with the Americans themselves, who now believe that Russia has no red lines. All Russia's words have so far meant absolutely nothing. Repeated warnings but no action. It follows that when a real red line is finally crossed we could be in a much bigger conflict that might have been avoided had the Americans taken the Russians seriously.

I do not understand why the statement to go after individuals, who made those decisions makes Alexander uncomfortable. Go after does not mean kill as Westerns did, do and will be doing. Examples: Lenin, Stalin, Kennedy, Ivan (not terrible as westerns name him) but redoubted (close meaning but not exact). English language does not have any adjective to translate.
From recent assassinations - Fitso, Iranian president. Do you have one example that Russia did any like that??????Q!!!!
It will be done inside legal system like Nuremberg process. It is a very good statement; it will make those think twice.

Likely if Putin was replaced his successor would not have Putin's dictatorial powers and support level. His replacement in the Kremlin by someone or anyone would probably open up Russian politics and political space in Russia ..... It might even force a Russian withdrawal from Ukraine in whole or part because the successor might decide that this stupid war would take up too much of his political capital.... and that a "frozen conflict" & talks would be better for Russia...
