Just bought a 2004 focus with the two sills rusted out, going to buy a mig welder to practise on the old girl.

Whats the metal thickness of your repair panels? 0.8mm?

A decent solid repair then you couldn’t even be arsed to mask it off straight and paint the whole sill so it looked half presentable...

Wow, she is starting to go rusty in a few places. My OCD wouldn't have let me leave the bubbling rusty bit above the repair alone.

Haha yeah. Unfortunately it's going rusty in a lot of places, even worse on the panels which would need resprayed after repairs

    Use a flange tool

Maybe a better idea would have been to cut off the whole sill and replace the whole panel. Patching is at best a short term problem solver, come the next MOT corrosion will be back.✌peace

Cutting the whole sill off would be a major operation for such a small patch of rust. Way overkill for a 2003 Ford
