@z000987 Thanks mate :-j It takes quite a lot more time to make the turned baffles compared to pressing them out like this.. Also these are a lot lighter at around 20 grams where my main blast baffle from my other video is around 55 grams. Which of course is designed a little heavier to handle the higher initial pressure. I will be welding these to the suppressor tube so no need for any spacers.. Keep tuned I will be making some more vids of making the rest of the suppressor :-j
That's a badass WW2. Had the awesome and random privilege to shoot the STEN, De Lisle Carbine and Thompson. Sten/Thomp were FA/Supressed. It was cool man, especially being 12. Some of my all-time favorites, lotta WW2 are. The Brits had some awesome stuff, especially that DeLisle Carbine, that shit is a whole.other level of insane. Genuine movie type quiet. No BS
@josequesadila Gidday Jon I designed and built them in my lathe out of some scrap steel I had lying around. I had alot of inspiration from a vid I saw on here called "deep drawing of metal sheets, Tiefziehen" which is on GutMetallumformungAG's page. It explains deep draw cup forming much better than I could explain it in writing. Also google cutaway view reflex suppressor and click on the top link. some interesting pics. that's where I got the idea for making my welded steel suppressors :-)
Have you made a video for the baffle dies or do you have some drawings? If you already posted it I apologize but I havent found it,I really like your system.
I think his point is that one should not waste time and money in special tools to reinvent the wheel (freeze plug) when they are available commercially for pennies.
Yeah i know. Sure freeze plugs can be used but wouldnt gather as much high pressure gas due to having a flat face vs the cone shape of mine. Of course they could be coned in a press... With a die set not to dissimilar to mine.. Lol I think il just stick to my way as they are made to fit my suppressor tubes perfectly with very little runout and are heaps cheaper than driving to a store and buying something that dosnt work as well :-)
We have kind of backwards laws to the states.. To buy firearms we have to go through a fairly involved licensing procedure which is quite similar in price and time to getting one of your tax stamps, background check etc. Our pistol endorsements involve belonging to an approved club which is the only place we can use it outside of tournaments at other approved clubs. Seems to me the ATF tax stamps are nothing more than revenue gathering by an unwanted/needed and even unconstitutional department.
Well the laws are apparently More lax in your country. Here in the states suppressors Are legal to own, but you have To jump through some hoops First. But assuming you have No felony comvictons then You'll most likely get approved And get to have your silencer After anywhere from 3 to 6 Months or right around there.
Cones work better? Hmm... maybe that coke bottle and princles can suppressor on Google would work pretty good too without tools other than a carpet knife to cut them in half.
I was lead to believe that ATF Considers any baffles or anything else made or meant To be used to assemble a suppressor including being Intended to be used for that Purpose including anything to be used as the litter tube Is considered to be a suppressor All by themselves. Federal law Does discribe it that way too, I looked it up on the ATF's Website. So am i missing Something regarding just Having those parts and still Being legal too? Or no?
True that im thinking my book was written during the Clinton assault weapons ban as it goes on about being illegal to use more than 10 round mags on a post ban pistol.. Theres that "thought police" thing that Barry from IV8888 channel talks about. Pretty strange thinking when you consider no unfitted full auto sear has ever killed anybody :-)
Cool. Here its a lot of headache to get one, just time & money really. In the USA you can get just about anything with a little palm grease AKA wads of cash.
+Hay_ImKeyser_Söze not exactly, there are ways to get things but its because we have to maintain our rights by lobbying for them on a regular basis. It takes the same time and money here, our just doesn't have cartoons on it like everyone else's money. We have formed civil rights groups to fight for our rights to have these items, The NRA, the ASA and a few other groups have fought for us to keep the rights we have. Other countries have given up because they think the world is a nicer place now and humanity has evolved. I have been around the world and I know the world is a cruel place and humanity has only found new ways to hurt each other, good luck in Europe when ISIS comes around, no way to defend yourselves, AGAIN. Then we will have to step in and H-bomb them back into their caves. Seems like a cycle, europe fights a war, disarms themselves then a war comes and we have to bail them out. Maybe one day we wont bail you out so then Europe will just all be enemy territory.
Phu Vet Well, I'm an American too friend. Republicans are undeniably dumber people today. 200 years ago? Not so. Strange how the party devolved. Nobody is going to take my guns here in my blue state, although I do feel concern and dismay for N.Y. and C.T. not much I can do to help them. Some things could be implemented and make the country safer if it wasn't for the big scare everyone gets around election time about a full 2nd amendment repeal. Good luck that would never work.
Freeze plugs are simple, but they are not as effective as these which are able to have a steeper 60 degree cone. Plus it is dirt cheap compared to freeze plugs. A cheap harbor freigh press can be had for $70 or built for $20 and it is invaluable for other builds like AK, mp5, UZI, or stamping your own magazines.
@@DaveSmith-cp5kj I decided to come late to the party. I'm that guy. I approve this message. Some really nice MP5 builds with press/tig/Mags etc. This is a hole that once you go down you kinda never come out. Good Shit Lads.... Good Shit.
Well im glad to say the only ATF we have in our country is Automatic Transmission Fluid... Lol Are they really that anal about having some random inanimate object in your possession? I have a gunsmithing book that says its legal to own a fully automatic sear for an AR15 but its illegal to have it fitted to a Rifle without the right paperwork so I would have thought this would be the same...
Check out a video called tlumiki on here from a channel called cppoficer, Its a pretty informative series of vids for making Improvised Suppressors :-)
Haha. Really man? This guy literally opened the door. You posted this 7yrs ago, don't know as I'm writing the original upload, but in current time and what people are doing, this is still cheaper, easier, and less complex. (Pneumatic press from Harbor Freight-Under$100, dyes under$50) you can be making these super easy and affordable. You could also by a drill press and maybe jerryrig some type of x/y axis, not with any precision. Couple hundred, low end, won't do what ya need. CNC/Mill, low-end, thousand(s), mini-lathe low-end (hundreds) Under 2-300 you can have what's in the video and materials or you can go with your statement as if it's not normal or crazy and expensive to do. This is almost if not 10 yrs old, it's effective, can be quality and it's Still cheaper than today's
Your point? Our Military uses weapon system(s) of ALL kinds from the 60/70/80/90/2ks? If it works, it works right? Not all monocore or "flow-through" tech has been proven better. Baffle systems have been proven....they shine....they perform....their 90% quieter.... this is called consistency my guy..... and it's over and over again. Patented in the early years of the 1900s, we know they were being used/designed prior to 1900s. In today's, same designs' as back then, just minor changes, add-ons, better materials, quality & improvements. There was British carbine designed in 1942 chambered in .45ACP, integrated suppressor(yup baffles, similar suppression to the British Welrod- bad internal materials for supp... The Brits had some GREAT SHIT though, so did we 🙃!!!! Kemmon we friends and allies. But fries ain't chips n chips ain't fries ).....85db reading on that .45ACP Carbine/Integrated Supp... .22lr subs are the only other round/weapon that can come close to produce that level of quietness. Back to point. Doesn't matter if it's from the 80s. If it works good. It works good. ALOT of things from years past work better than things of todays.
Thumbs up. I love it when people make innovative ideas such as this.

have a HAPPY NEW YEAR john doe!
Excellent video, good job.
@josequesadila you may have to make them with a metal lathe but that is a guess on my part
Yeah, thats the one I saw on google videos with that sten gun. Pretty awesome silencer.

you could punch it again and get a longer baffle but all i have to say is brilliant
Hi where did you get the baffles dies ??
Thanks from canada

@skylineracer23 Keep tuned Il be making a few more vids soon. Hopefully some shooting vids too if I can find a suitable location locally.

We call them freeze plugs. $1.19 each at the auto parts store.
will you share specs on the dies? (dimensions?) really neat.
