Daniel Jones is not a true leader among the offense. He doesn't motivate an offensive line the way he should and he does not have a strong throwing arm. He can win you a few games it's true, But he doesn't motivate a team well enough to play against the competition. The proof - The Cowboys and Eagles are UNDEFEATED against Daniel Jones. That does not exactly inspire confidence going into the future. Compare Daniel Jones to JJ McCarthy. A legitimate strong arm QB who motivates an offense like he was born to it. Out of all the players of the Michigan O-line alone - Not one of them is considered a true 1st round talent. Yet McCarthy motivates them to play against the competition like they all belong in the 1st round. Compare Daniel Jones to Drake Maye. A super strong arm QB that gets results against the competition as well. He can play with a struggling offensive line and is good at avoiding the pass rush. Can't lose with that. Neither one of these QBs had anybody like LT Andrew Thomas protecting their blind side. I don't blame Daniel Jones for his failures - I blame Dave Gettleman for doing a lousy job building around a QB that he chose. At least Joe Schoen gives him a fighting chance by stocking up on the O-Line during Free Agency. I think Jones deserves at least one more year to prove his value, But I still think they need a QB for the long term future because Jones will be too costly to keep after 2 years. If he does well he'll be a valuable free agent next season.

I’m cool with getting a QB in round 2 or later, but our 1st round pick needs to be the best player available otherwise we are mortgaging our future - and that’s how the Giants got here, because Gettleman and Reese made crappy decisions.

Lets just say for arguments sake that DJ is done. We are still a team with too many holes to throw a college prospect into the deep end. We need an X receiver. We need a tight end, a bruiser type RB. We are still a historically bad o line until proven otherwise. And thats just the offense.
