    Tyranosaurus Rex sounds cool by itself, but it's meaning truly fits the land animal with the strongest bite force ever. It's strength befits a crown.

      We should probably be clear that it’s the strongest TERRESTRIAL bite force of any animal. Still your point stands as it was the largest terrestrial carnivore we know of and honestly the more we learn about it the MORE terrifying it gets.

      @@Concavenator_corcovatusZuul doesn’t mean anything, it’s just a name (from Mythbusters) given to a genus of ankylosaurine. Its species name, Crurivastator, on the other hand is where the “destroyer of shins” comes in. The word comes from Latin “crus” meaning “shin” and “vastator” meaning “destroyer”, and is the root of the word “devastator”.

    What I find really funny about pyroraptor is that its species name is *olympius,* in reference to the mountain Olympe, at the foot of which the initial remains of pyroraptor were found.
    _Pyroraptor olympius_ - Olympe (dare I even say it, *Olympian* ) fire thief... it just lines up so perfectly with the ancient Greek myth of Prometheus, doesn't it? It would be so insanely cool if that was actually *intentional* but, sadly, it's just a coincidence

    Idk why. But my "head cannon" for dinosaurs would be that give them these terrifying names, but if we would go back in time they would just be incredibly clumsy amd dumb.
    And we would just stare at them like, how did they even manage to survive for so long. I know it's probably not like how I imagine it, bit it still would be funny
