I’ve been using Polaroid cameras FOR EVER! In fact, after my dad passed, I inherited 3 of them. All old school, or what you kids call “vintage”. They worked great, and so I let my kids take a bunch of pictures with them. The film for vintage cameras was super expensive, like $20 for 6 film things, so we only use them in special occasions. Ima have to get this so that I can compare!
I bought and built this set on day 1. I have two real Polaroid OneStep cameras and one of them was a Coca-Cola giveaway prize in 1981 that is brand new in box and was never used. It even came with paperwork and the original delivery box from 1981. The "1000" was the name for this camera in Europe (I think, it could have been other places too but that's what I remember). I have a whole collection of other Polaroid cameras as well.
Worth every single penny of the retail price. Easiest recommendation for an AFOL in ages. It's one of my fave builds in a very long time, for sure. I'm very happy with my purchase of it.
I’m listening to you do the clicking and stuff and I gotta tell yeah, that’s exactly what it sounds like and the way it opens. That’s almost perfect!! And I gotta say it’s just about the perfect size of an OG Polaroid camera.
This is a set that i could get for so many people that i would normally never consider getting a lego set as a gift. Really cool set, ill be going to pick one up for myself soon
Woah woah woah You recently talked about how you sometimes leave Easter eggs Why the red helmet…what do you know! Also: ASK MANDR - can you do me a solid and just move that Polaroid a bit below the credit card? Cheers
@@MandRproductions for real, keep the content coming, loving every second and to help you out, that 3rd photo of the woman is the actual picture of the set designers wife in Italy I believe, I can't remember who I watched announce it first but I thought that was cool of Lego for rendering it and putting their photo in that signature Lego style
I’m old enough to remember my parents owning one of these.. great review man this is pretty tempting. I think I remember the cartridge being slightly visible in the real thing, so that’s no problem. 🤘👊
I agree this is a fine price for what you get maybe not the best they could do(Look at the mario sets for exemples of cheaper enggerring and new pieces sets.) but fine anyway. Which Haviing grown up at the tail end of Polroid's OG company(Or what ever happened before they became just a name in the 2010's) I love this set it's just everythinjg you would hope a Lego Poloroid would be!
I’ve been eyeing this one ever since it was released and I wanted to wait until I went to BrickWorkd to see if any vendors were selling anything interesting (they were not for their prices). So I picked up this baby and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! I love the features and I love how good it looks on my bookshelf! Money well spent!!
I do want it, but I do have to wait for a sale. Need to get the 3 in 1 Camera as well and then I will have the trifecta that goes with the GWP Camera from a few years back.
After this set released I went to a thrift store and found and bought a working Polaroid camera for$20. If you want a Polaroid camera you can still readily get one that isn’t $80 and an imperfect replica.
Would you do or consider making a video with ALL 2024 lego leaks since I know you have the star wars one but it would be cool to have a video for all 2024 lego leaks
Working in an office environment I can vouch how rubber bands dry up over time and then become hard to the touch and basically snap broken when it is stretched. I can only think of a few sets that incorporate the use of a rubber band. Has anyone experienced this situation? Probably can be resolved by replacing it with another rubber band that is similar in size and texture and would cost just cents to buy. Just curious if anyone has had issues with older sets that uses a rubber band in its construction. As always great work with your video reviews!
This video being posted right as i finished watching a video on polaroid cameras is quite the coincidence, but super cool nonetheless. Polaroid has some crazy history, so cool to see it honored in this really clean lego set.
If I remember correctly that ''lady in Venice'' is actually girlfriend of one of the designers. They were on vacation, he took this photo and then made a Lego version of it.
I like this as a set, but the price is too steep for what you get, and I'm pretty sure that the function could have been made to eject all 3 photos one at a time without having to reload. Also was not a fan of the stickers given the price. And why didn't they use a clear dish for the lens, as that would have made more sense. As you say, I'll wait till it's on sale, and pick it up then.
For the people saying this costs more than the actual camera, the standard Polaroid has a list price of $120. Of course you can get it cheaper on sale, but not by that much and the same is true for Lego.
Is the "film" a similar (but thicker) material to the backs of the minifig polybag displays they did in 2017 (Minifigs being DJ, Shore Trooper, and that astromech)
I own a lot of Polaroid camera and films because i've always loved instant photography. This set is amazing, but i wpuld prefer buying the real thing.. easily for the same price or less ;)
Everytime LEGO gives you stickers, the give a damn for your comfort. Everytime they give you printed bricks, they getting better. I mean, you pay a lot for LEGO sets, so whatabout some quality and worship ?
I love when lego recreates real world objects as sets. This is such a lovely set that even somebody that doesn't collect lego would appreciate
I hope they do 45lb. plates from the gym next.
Planning on hitting the gym to lift the next UCS Star Wars set? 🤣
@@MandRproductionsYes.
@@MandRproductionsthat will be $500 please
Im considering getting it for my mother (a photographer)

Looking forward to Star Wars adopting this level of play function with a green milk dispensing thala-siren.
Its fantastic to see Lego create something so realistic like this Polaroid Camera!
is this Ai generated
?
Man I’ve been watching this channel for a few years now and always watch your vids before buying a set, love your work man, keep it up

How frippin cool is that!!
For $80 you can buy the actual camera.....
Never been a fan of these types of sets, but it does look very nice.

I love how colourful the inside mechanism is, a stark contrast from the reds, greys and tans of technic mechanisms just 15 years ago.

I wish they could put the same quality into the star wars sets

I think it would be good to use those photo pieces for USC display info!
maybe they could slide it in, or but it on angle or something else!

@@MandRproductionsCould you do a review of Lego 75037
This is super neat. What a great throwback memory It reminds me of the Lego NES in nostalgia type sets.
2:47 that sticker peels up to easy it’s not just me. It’s happening to everyone I’ve talked to who owns one how did this pass lego?
This was my first Lego set at 34 years young and I enjoyed it. Can’t wait for my next one.
This is one of my favorite builds I've done. Everyone should get this one

P.S I had Taco Bell while watching this video.
I do want it, but I do have to wait for a sale. Need to get the 3 in 1 Camera as well and then I will have the trifecta that goes with the GWP Camera from a few years back.
I think the Polaroids themselves are similar to the back round cards that were included with figure polly bags like the shore trooper
After this set released I went to a thrift store and found and bought a working Polaroid camera for$20. If you want a Polaroid camera you can still readily get one that isn’t $80 and an imperfect replica.
I just saw a video of the 2D animated Anakin and I realized that’s what I recognize you from!
Ill definitely be picking this up at some point. Its such a great looking set!
As a photographer, with a camera collection, including an original Land Camera, it's worth every penny.
Its a cool set. the price is insane
Now I want a 1 to 1 UCS mouse droid.
Hmm I don’t see how the Polaroids are similar to credit cards. Maybe you should post your card next to them so we can get a good comparison
Would you do or consider making a video with ALL 2024 lego leaks since I know you have the star wars one but it would be cool to have a video for all 2024 lego leaks
M&R ASMR is not something I expected to see today. Nice.
I actually have the real life version of the camera, and want to buy the LEGO version just to have both
Hey Ryan what do you think of the bad batch s3 trailer? I hope we get some new sets😊

Love your work keep up keep it up you inspired me to start a Lego city with the whole bunch of Lego Star Wars stuff in it

fun fact, the lady in the photo is actually the LEGO version of the girl who submitted the Idea
Almost got that credit card number… smh maybe next time
Hopefully, we'll be getting Lego kitchen appliances soon!!!!
If I remember correctly that ''lady in Venice'' is actually girlfriend of one of the designers.
They were on vacation, he took this photo and then made a Lego version of it.
sister actually!
The camera is very nice compact build😊
Lego marketing goes hard announcing an ideas set as 18+ to lure adult buyer
I saw krennic's imperial shuttle not a mouse droid
The best thing about that it takes a picture, kudos to LEGO. Clever little sausages in Denmark.
I will definitely be getting this, but I'll wait for the price to drop...keep up the good work, my man.
The picture of the lady in Venice is actually a photo of the Lego Ideas Designers wife!
I’m currently on bag 4 I’ll finish it when I get home from work, thanks MandR
Rivendell review: crickets
Oh that ASMR is so nice
Can we get a side by side of the pictures and your card. Front and back? Also, what's your zip code?
I have this actual camera. Should buy this and display them next to eachother
What a cool Lego set
love your videos keep it up
The real deal make or break is whether or not it has helmet holes

Kinda funny tht you can buy the real one for 70$
Hi Ryan! Can you review some of GCC’s products?
Star Wars bad batch finale season trailer dropped!!!!!
A printed 6x6 tile? I thought they couldn’t print them with the Venator?
Ok-I’m half kidding.
But I do agree-this is an awesome set.
Bro but not for 80 dollars ☠️
Maybe 40-50
I was wondering if you were going to restock the blue milk vending machine on MandR shop. I'm a big fan and was going to pick one up. Thanks.

Imagine if they put this much effort into SW
Ryan, your content is different than I expected. - Cyborg
OHHH NOOOOO now every time I see a Lego Polaroid I’ll just think of a mouse droid 😂
do a reveiw of the malevolence
I’m fine with the $20 Classic Camera instead
Thanks for your great work! Would love to talk about lego Star Wars with you some time! Just starting my Lego business.
Cool set

When is lego doing paper bags cos ive hardly seen them
i was considering bying this
No way thank you so much
It looks good just the price is insane
Be great if you could upload your own pics to lego and order bespoke prints

Ask MandR: with the release of bad batch season 3 do you think we will get potentially new sets in 2025 including Ventrace?
I love polaroids
By the way... Bad batch trailer came out. Turbo tank in 2025??
We need that 🙏
I believe Tiago said that the lady in Venice is the designer's girlfriend/SO?
Just sad that an actual working Polaroid is cheaper than this ..
The photos are kinda cool
Ive been watching for a while now since its been 5 years can you please pin me
He said please so it’s an automatic

I still think it should’ve been 70$ but hey, good functions and unique stuff IMO is what makes a Lego set price. Definitely not PPP

Mine didn't come with the pictures 😭😞
Well now we know precisely "What's in your wallet?"
As nice as it looks, I’m pretty sure a fan of Polaroids would rather buy the actual functional camera, which costs less.
It is nice, but I picked up the Rex helmet instead.

The price isn’t insane but it’s still too expensive.
