I cant agree more. In the evenings i go talk to the cows , pigs and goats. Its soothing to me. Get to look each one over. The little pigs are like circus clowns.
Had a hog 2 years back rip the bite valve out of the barrel, I watched it happen and was able to keep water to them until I got the replacement parts. I now always have supplies on hand for backups when this would happens again. Keep supplies on hand

Hi, been watching the channel for a bit now, my wife and I really appreciate how rational and honest you are at approaching homesteading. We've been looking for a way to make even 10,000 a year off our 5 acre lot to help pay our property tax and some other bills. I garden an acre, but that doesnt wash out to much if any because of the wildlife that surrounds us. In your wisdom and honest opinion, do you think it's worth raising pasture pigs on 1/2 an acre?
@@Vaul_The_Merchant I think 10k a year is a realistic goal. My hogs take up about 3/4 of an acre depending on how you measure it and I'm running 6 to 10 sows . Email me homesteadingthehardway@gmail.com and I'll try to give you some ideas , my goal is 40k clear . This year hasn't been great but I'm getting close

Pigs will do much better against disease if you keep their immune systems strong. Lysine, salt, trace minerals: all that is important to add if it’s not in your premixed feed.
Good evening I have a gilt that is pregnant and due the 1st week of September she will farrow in her pen what do I need to do to prepare her shelter for her to furrow. Thanks
I'm not sure if there's been a run on solo cups or if someone has changed their ways or what. Those animals ain't gonna recognize you without the cup.

Check your zoning first.
Georgia requires A-1 zoning for livestock.
