Remember when in War Thunder half your deaths weren't from your entire tail falling off. It always looks so goofy when you get shot by like 2 20mm and the most structurally sound part of the aircraft just gets split in half. Ever since the cannon buff update it's been like that and I hate it so much.

there isn't a lot of players, so usually finding someone to fight against might take some time, but the players are incredibly nice and helpful, haven't yet found anyone salty. If you like bombing, recon, attacker stuff, it's awesome, when there isn't many players on the server, you can bomb factories, hunt trains, drop parachuters etc. It's fun, especially if you play with someone.

it's good that you switch to a different game. It will probably affect the views of your films but in my opinion it is better than the another funny gameplay from game that is a walking corpse.
Yeah, quite frankly, when it comes to defensive weapons, autocannon always trumps machine gun (I'm looking at you, USA...) Though, one concept I'm shocked nobody tried was to have an aerial 40mm defensive cannon like the bofors armed with those late war radio triggered HE shells with some sort of fuze delay so you don't blow yourself up.
I dunno, some bomber airframes were STURDY, B-17 for example. And the gun itself could be a lighter, lower velocity variant that's still easy to aim, but isn't making 2-3km shots.
@@no-legjohnny3691 By the time US had proxmity fuses, air war over Europe was basically over and Japan barely had anything flying and with enough performance to actually get to their bombers either. Also in the air your enemy can approach from any angle and usually you will NOT be hitting them at longer range even with best firing directors available at the time. And at shorter range rate of fire and ability to swing the weapon FAST trumps the proxmity fuse anyway.
Technologically speaking the proximity fuze was far too large to fit the 40mm but even then they had a minimum arming distance anyway, if the transmitter was always on it would simply detonate inside the gun/magazine.
Tbh I had this game a few months ago and when I got into it realized you had to buy almost all the planes and instantly refunded it, I also don't have a joystick, and tried to play the game and couldn't get into a match, so yeah, any advice smigol?
wait for steam sale, the game and DLCs become very cheap then. Also, mouse flying is possible but its trash, so you better just get a joystick and enjoy.

this game any good, i need something to replace warblunder forever (i bloody hope) and this one seemed like the best option however im discouraged as of late due to a number of bad looks from it, from steam ive gotten the impression i have to buy aircraft that are pretty much the same price as the game and that instantly took me off buying it for the longest time, ive seen reviews and discussions that the game does some shady shit among other shady bullshit if you could clear just the plane problem off my shoulders, i might look into this one again, cheers
Well... you either buy the big DLCs (10 planes, 1 map) like Battle of Kuban or Battle of Bodenplatte, or you buy collector planes that are separate thing. During a steam sale, each collector plane costs 2,5... maybe 4$. And they are worth getting for that price.

Becker turrets were a rare thing. Also this gun is actually terrible in game. Yes it hits hard, but it jams every couple shots, moves slowly, shoots slowly and has only 4x 15 ammo
the famous Oerlikon 20mm was actually based on the becker huns had some cool stuff, they just didnt get around to building any decent tanks (they had some good things in the works, but nothing built and fielded beyond the A7V)
