The exterior design is pretty average considering the amount of money this costs. About over a decade ago Audi had that clean but cutting edge design that you assumed cars of the future would look like, but now they look no better than a generic Mazda, Skoda or VW.
I bought the SQ5 TFSI 12 months ago (When the diesel was not offered). It is a fabulous car and I really enjoy driving it. But I would always go the diesel first if able as they are just superior in so many ways - Torque, Grunt, Noise and Economy.
Excellent review., thanks. Really like the car but, unfortunately it’s well out my price range. For what’s it worth, I think both Tom and John do a good job.
Well from what l can source Audi has an above average reliability, but this should be expected for a vehicle retailing above 100 thousand dollars. Wondering what the servicing costs are? Possibly this site is not relevant for me now as it appears the cars being reviewed are well above what l am prepared to pay for suburban motoring.
Interior looks nice but that is expected at the price. I hope Audi has improve reliability for the sake of buyers silly enough to spend that sort of money.
Why is the roof so high? People stopped wearing top hats long ago. For $100K I want more than 99 kW/t and at 2.2 tonnes the use of the word 'sport' is an oxymoron. It is a nice soccer mum school run bus for the entitled but after that it really isn't much to crow about. Good review John.
The good news is that it’s 255kW, so if it’s 2.2 tonnes you get 115kW/tonne. Besides it has a ridiculous amount of torque. What SUV would be a better dive at this price? What do you drive?
@@larjkok1184 I do not have the comb over, polo shirt, long white socks or sandals to go with this vehicle and I still have some self respect left. As a guy (not a soccer mum) give me one good reason I would need an SUV over an Audi hatch, sedan or wagon (estate)? What can it do for me everyday that is better?

Great review 👌🏾
700nm seems pretty handy!!
Welcome back, TDI!
Unless you can get a great bargain on one of these , I don't see why you wouldn't wait 6 months for the new facelifted model

Great engine but this Q5 body shape won't date well. It will join the bulbous old Q7 in the school of 'design dating quickly'
Aussie car taxes are crazy
Audi is probably trying move the unfacelifted left overs Ace review, though

Reliability is fine.
Q5 one of the most reliable cars there is.
Shame I can't afford 6 figure cars on a Nurse's Salary.

@@larjkok1184 Yep agree. Be a good comparison with say a Kodiaq VRS to see what 2/3s of the Audis cost loses before the greenies ban all diesels.

And you drive what?
The interior tech is so disappointing
Looks dull and boring
Who is he??? Bring back TOM BAKER
While Tom is great John seems pretty good too. He’s growing on me.
More content from Chasing Cars can only be a good thing.
Nice review John.
Don’t worry Andrew. I’m still around, Johnny is a great asset for the channel. As you’d imagine I have my plate pretty full! -Tom
Wow give the man a chance. They're expanding.
John’s super good!
I assume andrew is joking here, but you did a great job John. Keep it coming!
