I run cross country for my high school team so I have noticed that if you work on improving your running form it will greatly increase your efficiency thus allowing you to run faster times without working as hard.
I am almost 50, 5’10.5” and 174 pounds. I haven’t been running that long or with too much consistency. When I am going at an 8:30 pace, I feel like I am flying. 😂 I don’t know how people can run at a 6 minute pace. I would be full out sprinting. I don’t even think I could sprint fast enough to get much below a 6 minute pace and definitely couldn’t maintain it.

My first ever 5k was 19:32 freshman year of high school. And in sophomore year my best is 16:38. Keep of the work and running is a sport where it doesn’t come overnight.
I'm about to run a 5k today, and currently my pr is 20:30 so you're only a minute ahead of me! I think that if you did more 5k's you could get down to a 17-18 minute 5k, because I mean, you've already ran a sub-5 mile, and you'd probably be able to get better

My best was 17:46 as a senior in highschool! As a 31 year old I took up running 5Ks again as I have a marathon to run next year. Best so far this year is 21:00… hoping to get to 18:30-19:30 range eventually. 😅😂
Good thing about Texas is you get hot and cold. My best is a 17:11 but ran against a few people who hit sub 15s, their shoes were hotter than any sun shining

Use carbon plate or rod for your 5k race dude. I recommend u to choose Takumi sen 8..it really help me on 5k race
