- Raced at Paducah International Raceway on Friday night with the @WorldofOutlaws for the first time in 12 years! Crazy to think it has been that long! We had a really fast car all night! Got dumped in the feature event... Thrashed all night to fix the car for Haubstadt the next night! Got the car fixed & started off the next night with QUICK TIME!! Lead a lot of the feature, but got past by the macho man to finish 2nd... Hope you enjoy this weeks Vlog! Sorry for the delay this week as there was a technical error on our end.. The slide job was executed perfectly, balog tried to turn down and ran into you. Happens. And guess what if you won or kofoid wins it really didn’t matter to me, I just like seeing good racing.. And it was a good race
Slide jobs are legal. But a good slide job should not require the car ahead of you to slow down that much. Let alone have to take evasive action and crash another car. Buddy shouldve stayed on the bottom or like David said. Slid up in front of him and go for Bill in 1 and 2 and avoid any sort of incident
EDIT: The slider on David was more than clean. It was the fact that he also tried to slide Bill which then caused Bill to stop and turn down into David that crashed him. That's why he's upset. Didn't think I'd have to explain that
Buddys slide job was more than clean. David should've backed off. David was wayyyy too aggressive.
@@sweetdaddydee1314 if Buddy's slide job was clean. Then Bill Balog would not have to turn as hard as he did. He turned hard to the left to avoid hitting Buddy. And because of that, he drove down into David.
@andrewsebree4333 you see it all the time, someone trying to turn hard to get back under someone that throws a slide job on you.
@sweetdaddydee1314 yeah I do. And it's an awesome move. But you can't slide 2 cars unless you ABSOLUTELY know that you have clearance to do so. David is not upset that Buddy slid him. He was upset that he also almost hit Bill Balog. If Bill didn't slam on the breaks. Then all three of those guys, and maybe more would've ended up in the fence. But because Bill made the move he did to preserve himself. He inadvertently hit David, who turned down and collected Zearfoss. All you have to do is watch the rest of the video. Him and Bacon were sliding each other cleanly in lap traffic on a much smaller and tighter track
Great comeback. Amazing to get the car back rolling so well after all the damage.
That kind of slide job happens all too frequently , just a driver trying hard and missing it by a couple of feet. It's a judgement call every time. Glad nobody was badly injured.

I mean this was a pretty rough night at Paducah tbh, I mean these slide jobs happen pretty often but that hit with Zearfoss musta hurt man.
the thumbnail shot Is insane. Props to the cameraman for that, the flip looked pretty painful as well hope you get more luck man. As an Australian we really only get the Perth Motorplex, Bunbury speedway, and Ellenbrook speedway. I don't live there anymore but watching all these sliders you barely see this unless the Americans come over.

I don't know how you could have avoided that , looked like the best plan would have been gone high and brake but more likely than not the guy in back of you there would have smacked into you. it was damed if you do and damn of you didnt.. you were traveling fast with little time to juggle which way how to react ..glad u are ok.

Just out curiosity do drivers and or officials ever have a say if the track is to dangerous to race at do to safety concerns? A couple of my coworkers watched riverside last night that’s why I’m asking
David everyone gets older and wiser! Sucks it happened to you but it was a racing deal. He cleared Balog did he have to check up yeah, does that happen a lot unfortunately have you done it in your career? Likely, as you pointed out no spotters no mirrors. I think it’s maybe more of a build up of frustration because Buddy has been pulling some sliders that were worse than that one this year. No disrespect I’ve been a fan of yours since NY in the family car. Back in the early ESS, Williams Grove days.
Been watching sprint car races for about 50yrs. now. Buddy cleared but the move was too aggressive and too early, lot of race left. Reading many of the remarks below it seems some didn't watch the incident very closely or listen to DG's comments very closely. Some are just DG haters. Buddy's young and hopefully will learn this is different than midget racing, you can't always just slam it in there. If you drove like that against Kinser or Swindell 9Sammy was/is pretty aggressive) you'd get your butt kicked in the pits (not advocating pit fights)
Facts! People keep saying it wasn't a dirty slide which gravel never said it was in the first place lol! People just hate on him.
David that was a rough night at Paducah. I liked Kofoid in midgets. I think there is a lot of pressure on him to produce and he drives over his head. Brady did well. Just take one night at a time.

The slide job was at no fault of buddy, really it was gravels fault, he could have seen the car of balog was naturally gonna come up the race track with his entry, buddy made a clean slide job, gravel didn’t leave any room because he didn’t want to loose time on his exit and balog had no where to go.

Buddy was fine. You could see buddy sliding from a mile away. You decided to stay on the top.
Did you not watch the race David was on the bottom and buddy come around the top with another driver between them.

The moment you seen buddy commit you should have backed off and given Bill room to cross over to the bottom. I don’t think this was anyone’s fault but your own unfortunately. Better luck next time I guess.

yeah at 90 mph and he did back off and he tried to turn left away but bill had to turn left also. i got nothing against buddy just a risky move trying to slide job both car in one swoop. but i would love to see you in one these cars at high speed im sure it would be entertaining to watch and very boring. go watch it again.

@@thomasray9690 yep plenty of arm chair experts they think it's like driving a drift car. i got to have my first drive of a sprint car in 2014 here in Australia just before i turned 50 i got to have 2 sessions in it of 10 laps each on a dusty dry track after a nights racing and the next days was for sponsors day. I used to race dirt karts when i was in my 20s for about 10yrs and had been crewing for my mate daniel pestka #27. Your welcome to have a look at my first drive ever of a sprint car on my youtube channel that i put up years ago. i got to experience how hard and scary these things are to control when you have over 800 hp. They have a feather weight accelerator pedal and a sliding brake pedal under your left heal nothing like a gokart that's for sure. But i did ok without spinning it out or sticking into the fence at murray bridge speedway. Best thing i have ever done in my life. I can't imagine how these guys do what they do at the speeds they drive them at. Some people think there easy to drive.

Wow so I guess every time gravel gives someone a right rear n pushes them over cushion were all supposed to just ignore that I guess 🙄. Buddy didn't touch either of u Bill turned down n didnt even know u were there till u ran into the side of him. U as much as experience as u have shoulda clearly seen what bill was gonna do and lifted and turned the car sooner but u chose to keep in it and drive into the side of bill. Even watching flo I seen that coming soon as buddy went for the slider. We've seen u do it to people in the past as well. The pevely deal that was just a really slick center and he misjudged the grip n slid way to much. He wasn't the only one to slide up like that and u knew the center was slick and he would slide but again kept in it anyway. Buddy did nothing wrong there Bill just didn't know u were there and u shoulda seen Bill turning down when buddy slid y'all cause that was clean. Don't be salty at buddy because it took brad finally leaving for u to maybe finally win a championship if u don't screw it up
