    Absolutely superb, as always. His talks have replaced what I abandoned by eliminating religion in my life. One of my favorite people. Grateful for his message. 💕

    • @Alphacentauri819
      @Alphacentauri819 3 года назад +2

      @yyy Zz please expand on what you’re saying.
      Religion doesn’t own morality, despite every major religion wanting you to believe that.
      Morals are not always a set agreement... not all people agree on absolute morals. Some are relative.

    • @Alphacentauri819
      @Alphacentauri819 3 года назад

      @yyy Zz I’m confused by your response. Is English your native language? No offense intended...it’s just not making sense, at all.

    • @Alphacentauri819
      @Alphacentauri819 3 года назад +2

      @yyy Zz “The majority of people are not able nor destined to be IMMORAL” Do you really mean immoral here? It makes no sense.
      Also, “only very few people are IMMORAL”. Again, the word usage..do you mean moral?
      Beyond that...it seems your views are rigid and absolute.
      Morality isn’t the same for everyone. No matter how one would hope so...that’s not reality.
      Morality can be connected to religion, yes...but often, the facade of morality seems more important to some religions. Or they cherry pick and are hypocrites regarding morality.
      My end point is that, I don’t agree with your initial claim of the OP not abandoning religion if they have morals.
      That’s an erroneous conclusion. Many religious people are very immoral and some non-religious people are relatively moral. Religious also doesn’t =spiritual.
      Religion is more about rules, demands, expectations, conformity...spirituality is about evolving, learning, humility, expansion, connection.
      Sure, some religions can include spirituality...but it’s not one and the same.
      Maybe it’s a definition, understanding issue?

    • @Alphacentauri819
      @Alphacentauri819 3 года назад +1

      @yyy Zz Yes, I completely understand what immoral means. It just makes no sense in the way you used it.
      Immoral isn’t the same person to person...as far as what moral/immoral mean. There may be basic/big realms that people generally agree on, but much else is up for debate.
      I don’t agree that only few people are immoral. I tend to believe people are all spectrums of many combos.
      I’m a grandparent, worked in medicine, with thousands of patients. I have much life and personal experience.
      I think that while you believe very few people are immoral...I believe very few people are moral. I tend to believe that very “moral” people are like saints, like mother Theresa.
      I think we are all flawed humans, who have evil and good. Whichever side we are cultivating consistently, is what grows. Too many, in the world, cultivate greed, narcissism, selfishness, violence and the planet and others pay the price.
      I think we don’t agree on what morality constitutes...additionally, we must not agree on what that means in regards to most humans....and lastly, where religion comes in.
      I think religion is irrelevant to morality.

      Mindfulness is mostly being distant from the thoughts and not working on them, accepting as they are, and just living with what's in front of you. If all people had done this, there would be no people building the apartments or geniuses that create so many stuff.

    • @makuletreg15
      @makuletreg15 4 года назад +8

      @@mertefe4345 that's absolutely incorrect. Meditation isn't distancing one's self from thoughts but rather changing one's relationship with thoughts. Those two are completely different things. When I stick to my meditation routine I'm more likely able to focus on the task at hand rather than being bombarded with thoughts that aren't relevant to what I was doing. Meditation brings clarity to my mind. Subsequently, that clarity also brought tremendous focus which is essential in effectively and efficiently finishing a task.

      You can’t make a generalized, absolute, statement like that. Everyone is on an individual journey..some very educated (like the presenter in this video) and are very “aware”...some who don’t go to university are very stuck and unaware.
      Some, who go to university, might be overfocused on conceptual ideas...but not all. Same with those who haven’t gone.
      Ego makes us want to categorize people and feel self-righteous.
      Btw, meditation is a discipline.
      Sounds like your thinking mind is distracting you from getting the point and applying it to your own life.

Who are number 1 in suicides per 100,000 And people of color who are called white people who are number 2 in suicides per 100,000. I know some people will not like me being inclusive and not separating white people from all other people. When we separate we discriminate. History proves it. 💚

    Mindfulness is part of the core teachings of Buddhism. Unfortunately, It has been highjacked for commercial purposes. Mindfulness alone is like taking only one of the Christian commandments and ignoring the other nine. Mindfulness, of course, is useful but it only really comes into its own when used with the other teaching of the Buddha. This is not often explained to the general public, perhaps the reason being that it is a rule of Buddhism that no payment should be sought for such teachings.

      Seems like you don’t understand mindfulness... mindfulness and meditation go hand in hand. Mindfulness is awareness. It is being the observer to your thoughts, not judging, but also not over-identifying with...just witnessing and being curious.
      It’s absolutely not a fad 😂It’s been around for millennia. Any great, authentic, spiritual leader, has mastered mindfulness. Maybe you’re distracted by the term ‘mindfulness’...and are equating it to something different, therefore overly distracted about what you think the word means?
      There are neuroscience studies (and they admit that science is WAY behind) on the effects of meditation (which creates a state of mindfulness) and the brain changes associated.
      Please open your mind...and consider you might misunderstand what mindfulness is.
      If resistance comes up...that’s likely your conceptualized sense of self (ego) experiencing resistance.
      Hope you’ll reconsider.
