Com o sucesso dos games de luta "Mortal Kombat" 1 e 2 era só questão de tempo até alguma empresa de cinema se aventurar com o nome da franquia nas telonas, porém, pouco antes tivemos os fracassos das adaptações de "Street Fighter" e o "Super Mario Bros", o que quase acabou cancelando a produção deste filme em 1995, mas para nossa sorte isso não aconteceu e tivemos uma das melhores adaptações de jogos até hoje. O que faz esse filme tão especial? Se você jogou os games antigos, já não preciso falar mais nada. O longa dirigido por Paul W. S. Anderson é uma adaptação muito, mas muito fiel as informações fornecidas nos games até então, a quantidade de personagens e personalidades, suas histórias e os eventos, tudo que você via na telona, de alguma forma era vinda dos jogos, o diretor não precisou inventar coisas, praticamente tudo que precisava já existia, apenas o feijão com o arroz foi o suficiente para tornar "Mortal Kombat" a melhor adaptação de jogos até a chegada do primeiro filme de "Pokémon". Nem tudo é perfeito, afinal, quem não lembra da morte sem noção de Subzero? Mesmo assistindo hoje, é impossível negar o quão bem adaptado foi, mesmo o novo filme fazendo um bom trabalho, no máximo ele se iguala ao nível do longa de 1995, mas vou falar desse filme de 2021 em outra blogada. O que mais importa nessa história toda, é que mesmo com uma série de limitações e produtoras com medo de arriscar capital em adaptações de jogos, a equipe de produção conseguiu fazer ótimos cenários, lutas até que bem coreografadas e usando o mínimo de recursos digitais (CGI), entregando uma ótima adaptação e que abriu portas para outros jogos chegarem as telonas.
