I always feel so much respect to Alamaki over all these years. He was truly gentleman and pure talent in Rallycross of that era as his colleagues in WRC. He has that unique calm and accurate scandinavian "vibe" as many scandinavian WRC pilots of that era. I think he was most capable (of rallycross pilots) to compete in World or European Rally Championships in that era, but he choose to be the absolutely Champion in RX. Very humble but precisely fast driver at the wheel of these monster cars. And he successfully drove most fast and perfect cars of Group B era: Delta S4 and 205T16. Very significant, that Schanche was "first" only when there was not Alamaki and when Alamaki finished his career.
proper rallycross with real cars! u used to get such crazy cars like mid engine micras with touring car engines in them and stuff like that such a shame that they banned ex group B cars etc in european rallycross so now all we have is boring old tuned up ex wrc cars to watch.. admitedly there probably quicker but not as much variety.. just not the same..
That is such a finnish way, to speak about an opponent and their crazy antics. Schanche did win a lot, but it might have been better without other cars on the track.. hehe

The days of real cars in rx
And imaginative Engineering 👍🏻
The 205 Turbo 16 continued to demonstrate year after year why it was the WRC drivers' and constructors' champion in the Group B years.
630hp in the 🥖 😍😍
That 205 nearly gave me a damn heart attack! It totally obliterated everything else!

Matti Alamäki= Mister Rallycross
Were these cars running typical grpb power numbers or more than that?
up too 600+ bhp apart from some of the normally aspirated 6R4’s
