  • Task Force History presents "Scott Air Force Base 1953". These unpublished historical photographs were taken by / belonged to Air Force Sergeant Charles Arnold Fry of Michigan. These photos are a chronicle of his military service at Scott Air Force Base ca. 1953.
    Charles A Fry joined the newly formed US Air Force at the beginning of the Cold War and went on to serve until the end of the Vietnam War. During his many years of service as an aircraft radio technician, he was stationed at numerous Air Force bases including Lackland, Scott, Niigata, Nellis and Pease.
    Some of the themes in this video include the 3326th Student Squadron, barracks life, ceremony on the parade field and aircraft on the airfield.

    Pretty cool nostalgia. Was never stationed at Scott, but caught a few hops from Andrews to there to visit family in East Saint Louis.

    Was commissioned at Scott AFB in 1981.
