Seriously, what is up with all of the negative comments? Megan has worked so hard to get where she is today and put EVERYTHING on the line for it. She didn't get where she is just because she "looks the part", she has ambition and talent. She's been singing her heart out long before her youtube became a hit, she sounds great live, and if she's happy then what is it to you? If her music bothers you so much then don't listen to it.

I don't think any of you knew Megan personally and are basing your "opinions" on assumptions. We took Choir and Dance together in High School and she's always loved singing. Everyone loved her at the Talent Show and she would do Singing Valentines from classroom to classroom and everyone loved her then too. Music is just something she's passionate about and now she's been blessed with the opportunity to make a career out of it and she's taking it. Wouldn't you? I don't see why having her parents support is negative. I'm sure she's incredibly thankful for them, and although she's had their help that's not all that got her here.

there's nothing wrong into using a lighter voice, it's just that for this song, it's very upbeat and loud, so it will make sense to have a deeper voice because in some parts, i can't even hear her cause the melody is louder ^^

Before I say negative things, let me say that the song isn't completely horrible. But I honestly don't get how she could have this many fans. It's like Vanessa Hudgens or Ashley Tisdale or Selena Gomez, I love all of them and I think their great actors and people, but they're just not cut out for singing because their music needs a lot of auto tune and their voices are very squeaky and high pitched. Don't think I'm making fun of Megan Nicole as a person, but I'm saying there are more singers, with better voices, who deserve more. Okay- I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, but just know I'm not saying this to be really mean, I just felt like it needed to be said...
Megan doesn't use autotune. It's actually a compliment of you to say so though. She's a great singer, this just isn't the song where that's supposed to come out.
***** As someone who most people would describe as a classical musician, you seriously need to stop putting us on such a pedestal. Yes, we have a lot of technique. No, that doesn't make us better musicians than any pop singer. If anything, that just makes us respect pop musicians more than your typical person. Common knowledge states that pop music is very simple, yet you can't explain everything that goes on in your average pop song given 1 year of college level theory education.
And no, the fact that any auto tune is hard to hear isn't a compliment to her sound engineer, it's a compliment to Megan. Megan was the one that hit the pitches just as well as any opera singer would. Yes, Megan hit the pitches just as well as an opera singer singing an aria would. Maybe not to the level of an opera superstar, but it had no more intonation issues than a typical senior recital. All the sound engineer had to do was not turn all of the autotune dials up all the way.
Finally, auto tune isn't used in the classical world because it's not part of the classical tradition. Classical music is supposed to be performed acoustically in big auditoriums to large, silent crowds, and recordings are supposed to emulate the live experience. Autotune doesn't fit this aesthetic. It has absolutely nothing to do with skill or technique. Just look at let it go. Definitely has autotune, definitely has other effects, and Idina Menzel can definitely sing on pitch.
Megan is a great singer. Dont make fun of her.
