One of the most common questions we get, particularly on this video with Zappa and Orbison (but also Steve Allen, George C. Scott, Michael Jackson, etc) is "Why are some graves left unmarked?" It's up to the families to ensure that a grave is marked. Sometimes the individual or the family decide they just don't want it marked for one reason or another. Other times they don't have the money to place a marker, or just haven't gotten around to it yet. Sometimes it takes time. For example: In the case of John Wayne, surely one of Hollywood's biggest stars, it took 20 years. And according to some Jewish tradition, graves aren't permanently marked for up to a year. With regards to Frank Zappa and Roy Orbison, as I understand it, Zappa didn't want his marked, and the family of Orbison says they just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Hollywood Graveyard that makes sense. I also heard family's don't want to worry about vandalism. I feel Roy should of had one along time ago, I wonder what's taking time so long?
Thank you for mentioning Bettie Page, even though she isn't considered as an actress but a model, she made a historical impact. Bettie was a woman ahead of her time. I used to be so obsessed with her in high school. I always miss my Bettie bangs 😇
Mr. Frank Zappa- my all time musical hero. His output in his short life was truly prolific. After his passing fellow bandmate, George Duke, said that in retrospect, Zappa written & performed so much quality music, it was almost as though he'd knew he would not live a long life. George Duke is now deceased as well. Rest well, Mr. Zappa & Mr. Duke. God speed, brothers !!
I enjoy watching your videos. They are never sad and always very entertaining. It's like a celebration of their lives instead of a sad memorial. Thank you!

I live in Scotland and just LOVE your videos. They are very professional and so informative. I'm unlikely to get the opportunity to visit these graveyards in person so really appreciate all your hard work. I look forward to your next post :)
Linda Brown, you should plan a trip to LA, Pierce Brothers Westwood is just north of LAX airport and the Westwood area has many amazing places to stay and close to so many other classic Los Angeles landmarks. Besides, though it has been a bit hot lately, you will love the weather. Look forward to seeing you about town.
Last time I was in this cemetery was right after Natalie Wood was buried. There were so many flowers surrounding her grave you couldn't get near it. Back then the park was not so well kept up and the fence was down. I remember there were so many ghost stories about the place...especially by the tree toward the center of that area.
I always knew that people who lived in the Valley were highly talented. Like, totally! If good things come to those who wait, then my patience has been rewarded with this tremendous finale for Westwood Memorial Park. May I express my continued appreciation for your diverse and information-rich subject matter. When people refer to your videos in everyday conversations with friends or coworkers (as do I), this reflects the power of your excellent work. Your selection for the epilogue of this finale could not have been more apropos. Hearing the voice of Marilyn Monroe while knowing she is interred here was wonderfully eerie. Thank you for bringing such creative work to the world which, in turn, brings solace and educates us all.
Beautifully & respectfully done, as always. And thank you again for doing such an eloquent job on your video for Memorial Day. We all look forward to your next video! Take care, & peace.
Great to see Burt Lancaster's resting place. A strident atheist who refused to appear in religious films, even turning down the lead in Ben Hur in 1959. A progressive, he refused a picture with John Wayne, due to JWs right wing views and pro Vietnam war stance, despite not serving himself in WW2. A man of principle, to be remembered and respected. Thanks for including.
I really enjoy your videos ! Thank you for your hard work and wealth of information. Jim Backus was played the father of James Dean's character in Rebel Without a Cause.
Loved this. Your knowledge, and respect comes across really well. Plus the clips and memories are perfect. Well done bud. I only came here for info on my hero Frank Zappa's grave, so to find he is 'resting' with so many other great characters makes me smile. x

Thanks and congrats, you bring us a very interesting series and you dont make a glittering, loud show of it. You shows respect to the dead Celebs and you treat the theme right, and you act respectful to the dead and the graveyard.
Excellent as always. Almost every row one passes by in this tiny cemetery has a famous Hollywood person. I like to walk through these cemeteries, which is why I enjoyed this one and Hollywood Memorial (Forever) as they are more conducive to walking. The Forest Lawn cemeteries are beautiful but do require you to constantly get in your car and drive. Thanks for posting.
anthony Johnson l would watch that religiously....these are done to such a professional standard. They are the only "Hollywood cemetery" vids l watch...because of the little clips put in of that reminds us of these great stars at their height of stardom and their achievements.

You REALLY need to have this series on television, if it isn't, already. Top of the line production, research and narration!
If it were on television he would incur an unmanageable (thus unsustainable) fees in film clips. And Pierce Brothers would shut it down immediately.
I agree 100%
With all these celebrities, imagine the hauntings here; hell of a party!
Love Minnie Riperton and Natalie Wood. Thanks as always for sharing especially all of your research.
