    Sonny and Cher version climbed higher on the charts but Nancys version is darker and more haunting which I kinda like better!

    A great female artist from the 60’s was Bobbie Gentry. Her song “Ode To Billie Joe” is wonderful storytelling at its best.

    Fantastic song by a great singer. There is an awesome cover version by the truly amazing young (8yrs old) singer from Norway Got Talent named Angelina Jordan.

    And again Vanilla Fudge appears in the background. This version is a cover of Sonny and Cher's original song. In 1976 Vanilla Fudge did a cover of it, too. And they did it in their own special way.
    I once owned an old Fender Pro Reverb that could make sounds like this wth a massive spring reverb and vibrato depth near to10 of 10.
    This version shows Tarantino's feeling for the right music to a scene.

    Nancy made such a name for herself in the sixties. Hard thing to do when everyone is judging you because your Father was so famous. I remember seeing her on the Ed Sullivan Show when I was little, and she made a big impression on me. Thanks for appreciating her story and her tone, yes, mesmerizing.

    Nancy was my first female "idol" starting at about 5 years old. I still have some of her albums today. She was an actress too and was friends and a co star of Elvis.

    Interesting! I first heard the song on the radio covered by Cher. It's a great version too....with a quick step beat during the third stanza. Not certain which one was used in Kill Bill but it is indeed haunting. Thank you so much for this beautiful rendition....pure and beautiful. 😽🖤

    Thanks for the share. Never saw this. She did a duet with her dad called, "Something Stupid." Some folks think it's a little creepy, but it's pretty cool IMHO. Anyway, if you get Frank in the deal it's always a win. There could be video of it.

    I love this song. Like Callie Davila said below this, check out These Boots Are Made For Walking...it’s a great song you would love too. My mom had the 45 which I took and hid with mine, lol and my girlfriends and I would put on our Go-Go Boots and dance to the second song I mentioned..     Damn man, you made me look at that song differently after listening and watching with you! I agree, timeless! If you're interested in any southern rock, my favorite band is Lynyrd Skynyrd! With Ronnie Van Zant, before the plane crash! If you need a little pick-me-up check them out doing Free Bird live in 76 over in England opening for the Rolling Stones! Not the one from 77 in Oakland Coliseum, not that there's anything wrong with it I just like the story behind this event and how amazing it is! Peace Boogie Woogie

    This was originally done by Cher. It was a #2 hit for her. Written by her husband Sonny. Nancy does it ok but Cher KILLS it. MUCH better. 😎🎼🎶🎶🇨🇦

    Real classic iconic song -- there's no other song that sounds like it. And it appears this was a live recording; although I couldn't see where the microphones were.     You do know that this is a cover version, "Cher" did the original version "Sonny Bono" her husband at the time wrote the song. You really should give credit where credit is due. Great reaction though.
