Great content as always. Appreciate your detailed takes on the market. Curious to know what your take is on the CT scanning issue. I think it 100% kills loose vintage packs, but I have a six figure modern sealed collection. Makes me a bit more hesitant to load up on modern sealed knowing if the value gets to a certain point the question marks might arise. The tech seemed ok for finding obvious vintage holos but unimpressive in the videos for modern or a whole booster box.
Great breakdown of what % of tcg cards are actually sent to PSA. Very surprised to see there hasn’t been an increase here and with more TCG’s gaining traction the past year it would be interesting to see what % of that was Pokemon related. Awesome vid as always mate
My opinion; invest in hype collection boxes with premium promos. Premium promos are the star and you can see it with some of the sun and moon tag team promos, Eeveelution premium collection boxes. The radiant Eevee collection box which is the most expensive radiant Pokemon card, outside Greninja and Charizard. Just my two cents, but like someone said, thinking along those lines will stress you out and make it no fun at all.
no SWSH set, other than ES, appreciated fast. you could get get Chilling, Battle, Fusion ,Astral, etc, for $100 in year 3 of SWSH. nothing went up until SWSH was over and restocks/reprints ran out, and PC ran out. Your acting like a 1-2 year old bb is supposed to up $50-100?? heck, even XY didnt go up until ppl moved on from it. So same with SV, it will be appreciated in time and go up. By far some the best artwork in pokemon. Also, many other YTers that did card party and other card events or collecto-cons, said vintage is dead right. Multiple sellers said they weren't many or any sales on their WOTC cards. But modern was moving
I think you’re misrepresenting my analysis into a vintage vs. modern debate, which it definitely is NOT. My point is that the entire market has been less volatile in the last few months. Scarlet and Violet has been slower to appreciate (due to abundance and general market sentiment), but like you said, it will be just fine (just needs time). Vintage has been pretty flat after falling the last 2-3 years, but is showing signs of slow appreciation again (very slow). Overall, I think people across the board are patiently waiting for the next spark. I think that spark will be in modern; the second half of the SV block, getting people euphoric once again and funneling interest into the older SV sets and rippling to other areas of the market (to a lesser degree). Does that make sense?
This year may be worse. Last year I lost a lot of money due to poor investing decisions that I would not have made if I hadn't been so concerned about my portfolio. I wasn't sure whether to continue investing or make mortgage payments. After selling my investments, I realized that the house needed more work than I anticipated. I'm not sure how long I can keep going like this
To diversify your portfolio, invest in companies with observable cash flows. I've earned money in over 500 different markets in the previous 10 months since I employed a planner to help me strengthen my portfolio at the end of 2023. If 2023 teaches us anything, it's that good fortune is temporary. Even in good times, we should put in more effort to prepare for the worst case scenario
Okay how can one locate a reputable financial planner? I wouldn't mind searching the professional who served you. I'll be retiring in two years and may require some assistance managing my considerably larger assets. Don't want to take chances
If you've watched my channel regularly, you'd know I have a pretty extensive collection and have been actively collecting since 1999. I agree with your advice though . . . the hobby is way more fun, when it's treated as fun!
Im all in for a team rocket set

Excellent. This man is highly educated
I hope they do a modern style of legendary collection someday!
Team rocket set will hopefully be so cool!
Great analysis as usual! I really hope the next wave of SV products gets more people interested!
Always good stuff my G
Man, this is some of the best content!
Glory of team rocket I think will be epic for pokemon fans

I think with one piece and lorcana there is a huge increase for those TCGs and perhaps less Pokémon. 🤷🏻♂️
I own lots of sealed Ex. Just hoping they’ll be worth something one day. If not, happy to hold a sealed piece of history.
An absolute brilliant breakdown with awesome rationale!
Hidden fates is just starting to go up since its OOP
Great Information
people finally learning what supply/demand means
Psa x ct scan service also coming soon. They have the technology to authenticate sealed booster box already
Scanned boxes?
I think the storm is gonna be in 2025 at the moment they release the new Pokemon Movie with Tom Holland.
Tom Holland is playing Erica of Celadon city.

Japanese cards will be best investment in future
I have a feeling team rocket will be nuts
More reprints than the last sets yeah
With the global and U.S. market the way it is and BRICS, im making sure im stocked on important things first before i invest in cardboard.
Hi pokemon classics, is it a good idea to invest in new or old pokemon cards?
Neither. Invest in the middle one.
Invest what you like and be a collector first.. questions like this are going to stress you out

With the economy as it is, it will be interesting how it affects the hobby. Maybe we will see less investor bros, which is always a good thing
I kept some sealed products, but sell everything else, invested in crypto and 2x my money in 2 months lol
personally I've lost interest in SV sets. The artwork have been so meh. None of the SR can measure up to the SWSH era ones.
Uhhh first

but yes, whenever these "teased/leaked" upcoming sets come out, should be banging

Take it easy, we've all made mistakes
