Can't wait for your MSC World Europa vlogs. I'm booked to go on her next February with my friend and can't wait! Thanks for all of your content, really informative
Hey Carola, thanks so much for watching, and for the comment! I can’t wait to experience Europa - she looks SO different to anything else out there in the market currently. Watch this space - 2 weeks to go!
I enjoy watching your vlogs. I am a potential solo traveler, i am no longer in my prime ( lolol) but feel that i could now be a bit braver after watching how you have got on...
Hey! Thanks for leaving a message - I’m such a huge advocate of solo cruising - give it a try - you may just find your new favourite pastime (that’s essentially what happened to me…!). Thanks for watching!!
Another great video and an excellent series Fraser! Good luck packing up all your stuff ready for your epic 2023 voyages! 🛳 Look forward to all the upcoming videos 😉
Hi Fraser, thanks for another great video. I’ve enjoyed watching all of your videos and I’m looking forward to seeing the next chapter in your life “ship hopping”. I hope everything goes well for you as planned.😊
Hey Elizabeth, thanks for dropping by and commenting :) Glad you’ve enjoyed, and I should maybe apologise for the amount of content coming over the next year…!!
Enjoyed this series a lot, thanks Fraser! That's amazing you sticker yourself with the luggage number!! 😳 I've never heard of that. Worst debark I had was Disney. The one company that specializes in lines, and it was awful and very disorganized. So shocking. 🤪
Hey, if there’s a beer involved, I’ll hunt you down, haha! I will indeed still be on - I get off in Marseille 2 days later, so we’ve got a sea day together on the 13th before I leave on the 14th. See you onboard!
Ty 4 ‘ur take on things. I will now make an effort to do MDR breakfast - haven’t done so. This time Ma’ and I cruise on the Discovery Princess (my fav) in April - Ca Coast & Mexico. Just seeing your stunning views of Ship and sunsets amps up my anticipation 😀. Looking forward to keeping up with your magnificent travels ahead 🍻
Oh wow - that’s going to be SUCH a great trip - have a great time! MDR breakfasts are just lovely as they’re less ‘stressful’ than the fight at the buffet during peak times… Let me know how you get on - Discovery is a gorgeous ship!
@@FraserAtSea will do - looking forward to a relaxing time - I look @ it as to have an empty ship on port days - we live in California and not planning to get off board 😀.
Hey Fraser! Another great vlog. Dont forget self disembark though. When I was on virtuosa last sept we took our cases off with us and was able to get off first at 7.30. Just went straight to the doors. No loyalty needed
Hey Lou! Good point actually - I never use that as I generally travel quite heavy (every inch they’re willing to make easier, I’ll allow them, haha!). Thanks for watching!
I travelled on Virtuosa in November and disembarkation was a disaster. Border Force did a 100% check of all passengers before anyone could get off, were late starting and clearly understaffed for the task. I didn't get off until well past 11am as a result. Glad it is improving as I'm onboard again soon. Can't wait to to see your next adventures!
Ouch! In which case, I can report my experience was a LOT better than yours - hopefully that’s here to stay! Have a brilliant trip when you’re next back on!
We were on Virtuosa from 6th January up to Hamburg etc then down to canaries- I totally agree how annoying it is with all those safety announcements each time you have been in port and taken on new passengers. Glad you got to MDR for breakfast - my husband went there most mornings but for me it was too early as it finishes at 9am. I ended up going to the buffet which was just terrible most days - too crowded and the food was no where near as good as MDR.
Hey Gillian - you got on the day I got off! It sounds like your experience was almost identical to mine with the buffet situation, and the announcements! You should try a Norway cruise with them - the repeated announcements don’t exist as there’s only 1 embarkation port! Thanks for watching my videos, and for dropping a comment!
@@FraserAtSea last June we did the cruise up to the Baltic and it was so much better (far less people on board) and no pick ups along the way. In fact the whole Virtuosa experience was better I think. Booked Opera for May from Bari and doing a few Greek islands - much smaller ship so hoping it will be good.
Since I’m taking this same cruise soon, I have 2 questions. What is the currency on the ship? Also, do you have to give over your suitcase if you have carryon luggage only? I really appreciate this series, and I can’t wait to see your future adventures!
Hey! Thanks so much for watching! So the ship was operating in euros, and carry on luggage can be taken in with you. You’ll need to put it through the usual security scanners, but you absolutely can take with you if you prefer :)
Did you like MSC? I notice their fares are really affordable and their itineraries are great, but I read and hear a lot of bad things about everything else. We're doing a transatlantic next year most likely HAL. Did you like MSC?
I do really enjoy MSC, but it’s worth watching some vlogs to see what they’re like before you jump in. Their product is way less ‘premium’ than what you’d see on HAL - I’m actually cruising on Rotterdam later this year, so will be able to help you compare afterwards 😊 Hopefully this helps!
Hey, thanks very much! There are - I believe they were usually in the champagne bar around 6pm each day - they usually are at the same time as Bill W and the solo traveller meet ups!
All you tell us is so helpfull. It really changed my fear of having to be a solo on a cruise into a kind of enthousiasm. I'm on cruiseplum almost everyday to learn about ships and prices. When I'm back from Vietnam I will book a cruise. As I will be in Dubai for a stop between flights I sure am curious for your next cruise. Have fun! 👍
Hey! Thanks so much for your kind comments - I’m so glad you’re thinking about a solo cruise! I can’t wait to experience Dubai for the first time - TWO WEEKS to go!
Thanks Fraser! I'm so excited to see Europa!! Glad MSC has altered the experience.
Oh, you and I both - I’m so excited now!
Oh wow that's wonderful 😊
Thanks for the information 👍
Thanks, Sonia!
Fraser great vlog series looking forward to follow you this year starting later in march best of luck
Hey Bun, thank you for watching, and thanks for also following along! :)
Thanks Fraser- we are on the Virtuosa shortly on the same itinerary - loved the blogs, very insightful and nicely delivered. Cheers
Hi Helen, thanks for commenting! Excited for you re Virtuosa - are you doing a similar itinerary? Happy to hear you’ve found the videos useful :)

Thank you! If I’m honest, I could do without the stress of the next few weeks, but it’ll all be worth it when I’m on that first flight…!!
@@FraserAtSea Yes, I'm sure it will be! 🛳 Good luck ☺
Great videos Fraser, going on Same itinerary on the Virtuosa next week on my first cruise and solo, so some good tips and insights.
Oh, amazing - hope you have the best time - please come back and let me know how it all goes!!
Fantastic overview of your time onboard Virtuosa. Thanks for the MDR tip, I’ll definitely try that out.
Thanks very much - shame it’s come to an end!

Looking forward to you future adventures, Frazer.

Oh, I haven’t experienced Disney yet - if they bring the price down a little, I’m there!
@@FraserAtSea it was a "1 and done" for us. 🤣 Too many $$$$. Character meets were awesome!

Thanks very much, Terry! I’ll be filming a full ship tour, in addition to vlogs, so watch this space!
