I just got a set of these over the winter. I finally got to play them for the first time this weekend. WOW!! I am blown away at how great they feel, and how straight they fly. I tend to hook my irons, but these were just flying arrow straight. I have been through 4 sets of irons in the last 3 years, and every set I tried just had too low of a ball flight. These irons launch high, and go just as far as the titleist ap1's I was playing last year that I hooked the shit out of all the time. Guys in my league will be laughing at me when they see Wilson's in my bag, but they won't be laughing when I blow my 4 iron past their driver. I hit it 230 on my first day with it.
Matt, nice review. I am in the market for a new set of irons. I am looking at the Wilson FG Tour V4. I am a traditionalist and still use a 3 iron. Does this set come with a 3 iron. Also, please advise the distances you are getting with the 8 thru PW. I have been told the 8 thru PW have 2 degree weaker loft than standard? I have a high ball flight to begin with and do not want to my ball to balloon with the scoring clubs. Tks.
Bill Mueller A 3 iron is a custom order option There is no "standard" for loft, but these are a bit weaker than most of the distance irons. I found my distances were relatively unchanged from most irons.
Just so you know, I just got a set of these, and all of my clubs are flying as far as the titleist ap1's I played last year, and these feel WAY better, and fly straighter. No loss in distance for me. You will love them. They feel like butter too!!
