Saying no and not feeling like I have to take on everyone's problems is my biggest challenge. I am learning to observe... listen.... and not be so quick to react... I agree life is good at 50 and after. I will be 80 in January and believe nk one believes it. God is good and I am grateful. I eat well and exercise 80%. I think I am doing my part and God is doing His. I keep Him in front of my life more so as I grow older. And, I have no children and I am good with it. Good Evening. You're not lying Helen. Being over 50 is SO different now. I'm 56. Was married for 20 years. I have two grown Daughter's and 6 Grandkids. Lol I'm not that Grandmother. I love my g babies but I live alone. I'm single and when I got divorced I felt a relief. Like I was let out of prison. I've been living life ever since! Lol. My Grandmother was in the Beauty business. Had a hair salon and Boutique here in Dallas back in the day. The woman did hair in Heels and her stylists had to do the same. So beauty and fashion has always been around me. ❤
In 2001 I was 26 and my mommy passed away at 50. I will be 50 in 5 months. Thank you sooo much for this video because I don’t have friends my age (49) at all. Everyone moved apart after social media and I don’t know them anymore. Funny that everything you’re saying is so true about aging gracefully. I don’t feel like what i thought it would be.
Hey Helen, Being 50+ is definitely a beautiful thing. Like you mentioned, we have more years behind us than ahead, but those years come with a wealth of experiences. I do worry about the generation coming up behind us, especially for my grandchildren. Everything moves so fast these days, and life seems to be reduced to 140 characters. That’s part of why I started documenting my life-hence, my RUclips channel. I wanted to create a space where the next generation could hear about topics like menopause, functional depression, and more from someone who’s lived through it. I’m absolutely okay with aging too-it’s a journey I’ve learned to embrace.❤

I'm 41, but I definitely look at aging differently - especially when I see so so many young people who aren't making it to 40 or who maybe fighting an illness. I look at aging as such a blessing now. When it comes to how we look as we age - I agree with you when it comes to social media - it definitely exposed us to so many different options to stay healthy or look younger - whether its cosmetic surgery, skincare or fitness. I think we are also exposed to healthy eating habits outside of crash diets that we loved in the 90s and early 2000s.
I’m 51 Helen. Last year I was excited about turning 50. But girl, for some reason when my birthday came I felt kind of depressed. It was weird. Then I hurt my back at work and it took months for it to get better. Now at 51, I’m still kinda of dealing with health issues and parents being sick. So for me 50 has been kinda stressful. Next year my goal is to take back my 50’s and get a new take on life. I can’t keep going like this.

Any Actor and or Model who rock their natural beauty! Growing up my mom use to makeup. My 3 sister and myself in makeup and high heels. We would walk around the house. Like we were runway models. It was cool but I didn't like the makeup. I've always been attracted to natural beauty. And now being in my late 50's I rock my all natural beauty that God gave me. I've never thought about what 50 was. My mom was and still very young looking at 77. She gets around better than most 30 year olds. My sister's and I were raised to take care of our outer appearance. My girlfriend and I had the best summer it was our 1st summer in 20yrs without kids we absolutely did everything we wanted to do and how we wanted.
