It’s like wearing a team shirt, definitely not a bad thing in most cases. As for why the men don’t wear them it’s simply because they don’t wear leotards and it would be a pain to find shirts that match for every team when there aren’t that many men. Also men usually are leveled differently because the skills required are very different for them and their bodies work a little differently (women generally have a lower center of gravity and gain less muscle mass then men) Its actually really interesting if you’re able to find reasearch without misogynistic undertones. what about the younger levels?
you are amazing btw 🫶🩰
Fun fact: The "dark" blue is the same than the Alex Lorenz' s epic shorts (from Calisthenicmovement) aka, *Caliblue* It seems to confer balance, strength and flexi superpowers ☄️💙☄️ 🧛🏻♀️🖤
“Dark blue” yes that’s the color
Here’s my studio:
Age 3, 4, 5: Pink
Age 6-8: Black
Level I: light blue
Level II: Lavender
Level III: Royal blue (navy)
Level IV and V: Black
Level VI-Advanced: Any leotard
I’m in level V (FYI It’s Roman numerals)
Some studios have the same colour for the males, either as modesty shorts or as shirts.
For my dancing school: Pink = Begginers, Black = Higher levels. But it's really cool to know that other schools wear different colours for different levels!
My studio:
Creative dance: pink (4 yrs)
Pre-ballet: pink (I think 5-6 yrs)
Beginning ballet: black ( 6-7 yrs)
Ballet 1: red (like 8-9 yrs mainly sometimes 10)
Ballet 2: light or royal blue ( 9-10 sometimes 11)
Ballet 3: hunter green (10-11 sometimes 12)
Ballet 4 b/ beginnings: navy blue ( 11-12 sometimes 13 also that is my level!)
And above those levels there are no there colors you can wear whatever leotard you want
I had light blue with 10
I remember when I moved to light blue - where I do ballet, it was when you started creative
I love ballet it’s probably my dreams and probably be my destiny
Those leg extensions and pirouettesssss
I love how I’m on pointe yet because of my ankles I can’t turn because I can’t get over on the box enough
Thank you so much
I finally got a nice reference and info
I loved my baby blue even as I got older I’d wear it anytime given the chance 😂
i wish i was still in ballet. i did it when i was 5, but had to quit bc i moved to a newer area and there was not a dance studio. so now i am almost 15 and really sad i am not still doing ballet.
In my school it is :
6-7 : baby pink
8-9 : white
10-11 : turquoise
12-15 : dark blue
competition groups and adults : black
Boys : grey pants and white leo
Love how Lila wears dark blue now
