I was a full on thumb sucker. Even when my baby teeth fell out I was still sucking my thumb and it altered my teeth. I didn’t smile in a lot of my photos because I was self cautious. Luckily my parents got me braces which gave me my confidence back. Thumb sucking is also a motion of the tongue. So even when you stop your tongue will continue to push the top teeth. Before I got braces I had to have a tongue guard to train my tongue to stop doing that. It’s good to stop the behavior now especially since she’s going into school. She’s going to need braces regardless, but it’s still good to break the habit. I work with 4/5 year olds and whenever I see a thumb sucker I tell them to take it out and go wash their hands.
You can tell Matt passed his food management course, having things off the ground! 😅
