You are the man! I found a brother printer (HL-L3290CDW) in the street with all the toner cartridges at 97% full, but when I plugged it I got the No toner message and thanks to you I found out one of the batteries had corrosion build up on it( yellow toner), cleaned it up and behold! the message is gone! Thank you very much for sharing !
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! After trying everything else on RUclips and spending over $180 on new cartridges in the past, I tried this on my remaining two cartridges and finally got the "NO TONER" message to go away. (At a cost of less than $1.00 per cartridge I might add)! Thanks again!
Thanks, you saved me quite some money! I reanimated my toner with a tiny LR521 (AG0) battery, costs 0.25 euro 🙂 Fortunately your and my battery was removeable, but my newer toners have a battery soldered on the tiny PCB (printed circuit bord). They are no genuine Brother toners but much cheaper 123Inkt home brand. Pro tip: keep the PCB + battery when you throw away empty toners. This gives you a plan-B when you encounter a soldered battery, but don't mix colours. A chip for a black toner must be used for a black toner, so I read, I didn't test the wrong mix myself.
Thank you so much for this video. It led me straight to the problem and Amazon sent me the batteries by the next day. Now I have extra for when it happens again!!!
thank you very much for this video. I had the samne "no toner" error after apoweroutage. I did not have the batterys at ahnd (in my case they are of the type: L521F) so i only removed the battery, waited a couple seconds (30seconds should be enough) then put the same battery back in. After that i put the cartridge back in the printer, removed messgage openend and closed ttray twice (to make sure the message has not yet been solved) then took the next cartridge to run the stapes again. I had to do it on all 4 carttridges before the error was gone...not sure that if i had started with yellow instead of black it would been solved after the first cartridge.....hope this helps someone as well. Oh one more thing one of my 3rd party cartridges (a spare black i had and that did not work either) has the battery soldered to the circuitboard. So this one cannot be replaced.
In my case the batteries are OK but the contact between the printed circuit board and the associated connector was no good. So I just jiggled it a bit to reseat the connection and that cured the problem. This happened to two toner cartridges.
yep - worked for me too - No Toner message after changing out old 3rd party toner cartridges for new diff 3rd party ones .... bought 2 new SR63 batteries & changed out 2 of the old ones - and just took out the other 2 & put them back - opened & closed the lid a few times (after it scarily just says No Toner again the first time you do it - and occasionally No drum detected) ... anyway - it works - I wish it was just a little hit & miss! ... the '2 fingered salute' reset thing didn't seem to do anything on mine (3230) & I didn't have to mess with the cogs
I have the same printer, but doesn't have battery on the left side. I noticed the toner is not the same, you use TN227 and mine is TN217. It still can't recognise the new toner. Any suggestion? Thanks for the video.
Wierd! I have a 3270 and I can't find a battery on ANY of the off market OR Brother cartridges. In fact I am having this trouble message on the TN227Y that you showed. Huh?
I just started getting this error and there was no way I was out of toner. I had no idea there was a battery in these things. I pulled mine and it's 0.003v. I'll get a new one tomorrow.
I bought mine online listed as "not working" only to find that the previous owner forgot to put the chips in the new refill cartridges....I have looked all over, bought different chips, none work! Agh. I cannot find any chips that look like the one in this video, even if they say they are this same model. They're totally different and don't fit or work. I guess this isn't really related to the video, but I'm not sure where else to go on this rant. Lol. Any ideas?
So, battery replaced and I don't get the no toner error, however now my printer just says "receiving data" and prints nothing. Anyone else come cross this?

Thank you for making this video, I had a full toner, but I didn’t know the battery was dead until I watched your video.
Thank you so much! I just took out the battery and reinsert it back and it's working!
It’s even simpler to accomplish.
This worked for me the 2nd time I tried. Maybe I didn't leave the battery out long enough the first time. Not sure. But it's working now. Thanks!

this was such a frustrating error! thanks for your efforts with this video!

Thanks for your comment. In my case also 30s without battery resolved the problem.

Thank you. This worked for me the first time, but it didn't work again the next time it happened.
Thank you for the inexpensive fix!!

Thank you! It actually worked!
Well, after a day it says No Toner again, ugh.
It looks good for me after six months. Is it possible that your printer has some other issues that may damage toner battery?
Very good! It solved our problem! Thank you!
Worked for me! Thank you!

Hola esto podria servir tambien para brother dcp -3560 ???

How did you know to did it in the yellow cartridge and not the others ?
figured it, only one has the chip. Thanks this worked !!!
In fact, i did for all of them. Glad to learn that it works.
Thank you!U must be a experimental physicist to figure it out!!!🎉
thank you
wow. i don’t know if this will work but thanks anyway. I will try this

Yes, we got this this morning. We found turning the printer off and on again somehow helped and we can print again. How did you go?
@@kylinsimonchow $212 for a new motherboard and installation. Working just like new again now tho.
Just talk
thanks for you suggestion. I will Improve video quality in future
No need. I enjoyed the ASMR and the fix!
