@@motafu1 It's true. While early-mid game champs are out skirmishing and being involved in objective fights, late game champs get to have all the fun doing nothing but what the game was intended for -- Farming CS for 30 minutes until you become viable.
Now they just need to make it so that matches last that long...

There’s this lady who can never be stopped and can kill anyone, but she has this one guy she just likes and follows about as he’s her first and only friend.
All the guards died not because they tried to stop Briar, but because one guard in particular shoved aside the janitor and Briar was not having it.

Okay, please add the janitor guy as a support champion. His abilities would include being fast, summoning guards, cleaning the lanes and if Briar is in his team she goes completely bananas if someone hits him.
Imagine playing a support type champ that got gold from cleaning up blood splats left by deaths on the rift. One of his abilities being "Bucket Spill" where instead of being slowed champions start moving like theyre on an ice rink.

This one isn't made by Fortiche it's another studio. Brunch Eddy. They've done quite a few of the cinematics for Riot.

I love how the animation changed its style when Briar unleashed her hunger. It's a nicely done detail.
Its looks copied from spiderman into spiderverse, yes it's cheap to make but spiderman had great story behind it while this hero got sensless stupid story cutting raspberry in video while chasing guy from a prison. Mushrooms are bad for storywriting.

Having her weapon basically be both a restraining pillory and blades is actually a really neat design. It really sells the "become the monster they see you as" aesthetic they went for.

The arcane animation style is bloody brilliant
This cinematic reminded me a lot of Blue Sky's recent animated movie Nimona with how artsy the violence looked. Another amazing cinematic by the animation team at Riot
Nimona started at Blue Sky, but it was passed around to so many studios that calling it theirs alone isn't really fair. I mean the number of writers credited at the end is just insane.

This is a really good character trailer. I love how stylistic it is so that it can hide the obvious gore that Briar would cause.

Jinx actually DENY being crazy. And it is implied that she specifically draws the line at cannibalism in the animated series when she said she isn't crazy enough to serve someone's head for dinner. So i can definitely see them meeting to freak Jinx out. Briar is clearly crossing the line in terms of conserving her humanity.

Now that i read some more of her background, i would give Briar a break. She is a synthetic life form and technically never human, so it is unfair to call her a cannibal. And she was never meant to have any humanity at all, she self-taught everything that she knows about how to act like a human. So she didn't have humanity to lose, she never had any to start with. Instead she is a true monster who none the less is interesting in being a part of society. And is doing her best to figure out how to be human.

@@topiasperamaki just searched and I did not know a french animation studio worked on arcane with the riot team, but as far as I know, these cinematics are riot games only but I could be wrong
@@madokakaname2024 you are wrong, Riot outsources most of their cinematics to Blur, Fortiche, Axis, Brunch and other studios.

I adore the aesthetics going absolutely nuts when she goes berserk and then snapping back after she calms down. It's not anywhere as creepy as the Warwick trailer, but I love how much energy she has.

I'm super happy about killing people in League because I get gold and yadda yadda but in real life I faint when I see blood, it's definitely not comparable. Everyone behaves a little bit like a sociopath when playing videogames, and of course people would think this particular video is fun if the tone they set for Briar was clearly given for laughs and not taking her too seriously.
She reminds me of nimona so much because of the rock music playing in the background while shes fighting the soldiers and the art style while she does so it's alike to nimonas artstyle, riot must've loved nimona and I really can't blame them I did too! I hope we can see more of her janitor friend too!

She was created by the Black Rose as a living weapon but since she was always in her frenzy mode they considered her a failure, in her final mission (which she failed) they gave her the pillory (the giant thing she has on) but was captured by Swain's forces and put into jail. The pillory gave her control over her own mind so now she wants to live and discover the world. And drink blood.
Also she is in a way the daughter of Leblanc and Swain. I love her so much already

They clearly copied some elements of the tai lung escape scene. Such as the raising platform and the burst through the gate.

This reminded me a lot of Nimona, a movie that I absolutely loved!! I love the style chosen for this and Legends of Runeterra cinematics too. The Arcane look is truly gorgeous.

I get what you mean, they could have gone harder on the horror/monster inspirations for sure... Though your comparisons just made me realize, maybe Briar is meant to be read as a sort of reverse Jinx? For instance, Jinx was born human, and through a combination of her own destructive nature and upbringing ended up as a psychopathic terrorist-- one who actively harmed her own friends and family and embraced her self-sabotage. Briar, on the other hand, was born a monster, and in the devlogs it is stated that she not only acknowledges her roots, but knows that she can be MORE than that. She wants an identity that isn't just "hungry monster", she's looking out for other things she's interested in, and as shown in the cinematic, she's capable of sparing lives (thanks to the pillory restraining her just in time LOL, I digress).
I dunno, I just feel like it's a neat thematic parallel you just pointed out. Jinx could represent ruin, and Briar (literally named after a type of rose shrub) could represent growth. Two different types of monsters!
