Today we are Unboxing what could be the latest variant of the legendary Orient Bambino.
A smashing hit among watch lovers thanks to it's timeless and classic design, it has seen many variants, but with this it goes back to it's roots.
Powered by an in-house made Orient movement it comes with both hacking and hand winding, something that was missing on the first generation. an Orient Star. Orient is a 60+ year old brand from Japan that has been recently bought by one division of Seiko.
RA-AC0006B is the official model name.
A full review is coming soon.
I hope you enjoy!!

They would get way more sales I believe if they would just make their watches in 38-40 mm and 18 or 20 mm strap width with sapphire crystals.
And no date ;-)
MISTER AGB That shape of sapphire is very, very expensive to do. A different glass design would definitely take from the charm. Replacing that mineral costs peanuts and this is a dress watch, not a sport/everyday one so no big deal really
@@d3xmeister I see, but the sea-gull 1963 comes in 2 options, I have chosen the sapphire and it's still a beautiful watch
I forgot about 50m water resistance
They do make some in 36mm now
Great video, I love Orient Watches, I own 3
The Orient Bambino will become a classic, if it's not already.
Long been recognised as the go to under the cuff dress watch under $500, TGV has covered it for yers
@@JG-fg1ye I'm splitting hairs here, but isnt the ease of sliding the watch under the cuff a dress watch prerequisite?
@@bboooobbyy Unfortunately not, many diver automatics make it onto peoples lists and they're entirely too thick and abruptly curved which causes cuff to catch
It is...already ;-)
@@JG-fg1ye TGV knows as much about watches as Trump knows about being a public servant: zero.
i just wish they framed the date window, instead of leaving it like a hole in the dial. Hell, i'd even prefer no date at all...
Agreed. I believe some watches will definitely look better without a date window, including this one.
Alexandros Hey definitely chose the worst design. A frame would better but still a no date would be the best. A date wheel in he color o the dial would hav ben a good option too.
They should mimic what Seiko did with the SARB033 when it comes to framing the date window and making the date wheel the same color of the dial. Nothing wrong with copying a winner.
Such a beautiful watch!!
My first mechanical watch was an Orient Star Classic, so I’m looking forward to seeing the watch they send you.
I agree with your statement towards the end: There’s no need to buy cheap Chinese watches when you can get a much better watch from Orient (and Seiko) without spending a lot more.
I like the watch you just unboxed but, at a glance, it appears it could have some readability issues. It’s very elegant, though.
Yup, silver hands and black dials tend to be difficult to read at certain lights
Beautiful watch. They could easily set themselves apart by offering a smaller case size and no date.
Cool watch. I agree it should be smaller. I would also rather have a sapphire crystal than hacking and hand winding. I like my Orient Mako USA 2 and my Orient Analyst/Herald
I'm a little disappointed. The lugs could curve down more - that might help with the wider bracelet links. Much better on a leather strap. Otherwise, I wish the date wheel was colour-matched, with white text. Nice, but not Orient's best effort.
Good. I like these simple bracelets better than the "small links" bracelets. Is there a way to get just the bracelet for my bambino?
Look pretty but needs half links on butterfly bracelet from experience you are either lucky or not when sizing..it does look big on your wrist...
Waiting for the full review.
Marin, try to do something about the light. Whole video is low light, especialy on a watch like this when light hits it one side you loose all the rest... Natural is fine but artificial will help mate.
PS Not my style, nice watch nevertheless. And Orient = desent af 😌
I bought three times three different Bambinos and sold them all. They look gorgeous and are great quality for the price. BUT this design would fit 100% on a 38/39mm. Unfortunately the watch is too big for me and since the watch has barely a bezel and a very flat look from the front it looks even way bigger. Looking forward for a 38mm.
To me in particular this design reminds me more of a Junghans than a Bambino, and I like it a lot, but, as you, I would be very happy if the watch companies, not only Orient, started again to manufacture pieces of less than 40mm when they create a formal watch.
The Bambino, and this watch whether or not it is Bambino, have it all to be the perfect dress watch, minus the size :(
Cool
The case design look a lot like the "Presage Automatic Ladies" from seiko (Champagne Ref. SRRY025 / SRP855J1 and Red Ref. SRRY027 / SRP853J1) Beautiful watch that's part of the "Cocktail Time" family.
Is there any other dial color?
Nice watch... except for the clasp... butterfly clasps are not comfortable at all 😐
"The first mechanical watch I bought was orient" Same here, first and only for the time being. I only have 2 watches haha
me too!!
Even though it's hard to judge these things from videos alone, I think I know what you mean re the size. It's either a bit too big for this type of watch or maybe my preferences are simply similar to yours. Still... that's a very pretty looking dress-watch. And in this case, I'm not even sure I would prefer it on the bracelet. I have a vintage watch that's very similar in style and only after I took it off its gold mesh bracelet and put it on a nice black alligator strap did I start wearing the thing.. :)
IT WORKS!
Hi I've looked at Orient watches a thousand times but never bought one, not sure why may this one, but I'm still waiting for the full review and tutorial of the Casio WV-59 hope it wont be long
Did I hear you say it has a sapphire crystal?
He did but made an on-screen correction stating it’s mineral.
More light pls.
Hey Marin,
Over at Seriouswatches in Friesland (Holland) they are currently selling the skeletonized Bambino. Have you seen them already? I would call Laura asap ;-)
Do you have reference no. for this timepiece? I want to know more in this piece. Thanks morepower
Now we have your address
WORMGERM Send in a watch for review!
I hope for the full review you will peel off the plastic cover from the dial first. ;)
I'm not sure about this one.
nice watch for the price ....
Nice but too small for me :(
40.5 mm are way too big for a dress watch. 37 or 38 mm would be perfect, i addition to a saphire glass and no date.
But it is what it is.
Agreed.
How tiny are your wrists? That 36 looks huge compared to what I picture a 36 to look like on my wrist.
That is is a 40.5 I just mentioned there is also a 36mm version available
no sapphire = much more scratches
I would pass any watch without sapphire crystal.
block your mailing info, just a heads up
Thanks, I missed editing that out
Second
Bambino is boring and lacks sapphire.
