The best thing that we can do for our locs is to leave them alone most of the time & wash as needed. If growth wants to be seen, as you stated, start from the inside by eating well, drinking lots of water, & a multivitamin daily. And, yes, sleeping in ponytails is a BIG no-go.
I need to grab another good multivitamin! And yeeees Im trying to do better with leaving them alone, looking forward to wearing lots of head wrap styles this winter
I just had a two year anniversary and when I stopped messing with my hair it started swinging! I love the fuzzy root look. The retwist is one of my least favorite looks lol 😂. Because my hair looks so flat and I don’t like seeing scalp. I keep a loc sock on unless I’m leaving for something important.
I know exactly what you mean about doing what you see other ppl doing! I spent YEARS trying to make Coconut oil and shea butter work for me! It just doesn’t, I need castor oil!

I wish I wouldve stuck to that when I was loose natural! I would use so many diff products when something would work i couldnt even remember the routine 😂😂
How do you wear your hair to work when you’re trying to space out your retwists. I find it hard sometimes to constantly put it in a bun or wearing it out isn’t a choice
Thankfully I have a job where I know nobody will comment on it so I just let it be wild and free 🥴 but to look more “put together” I do head wraps, a headband to pull them away from my face, half up half down with a bun, or a low bun with strands hanging in my face

Same here .. I love the natural raw look , fullness , frizzy ,retwist ugh .. but I kno sometimes needed , I try n retwist every 4 or ) months ..
