      I couldn’t agree more. I love my 2017 I bought new and today she looks amazing. I still have dealerships and garages I do my oil change in amazement to how new she still looks under the hood inside and outside. I don’t have a garage and I live in New England. I test drove many cars back in 2017. I wasn’t shopping for an Impala. Although I had 2 new 1 in 2002 and another in 2005 Fully loaded LS models the 2005 was the Sport Package. I was shopping for the New Camry, or New Fun Honda Civic, New Sonata, and After 5 test drives I drove to the Chevy dealership down the street from my home. I said I should try the new Malibu. After the Malibu test drive I knew I was on the right track. When I came back in the lot I spotted the Siren Red tint Coat with the pano roof, the wheels I loved it was both Sporty looking and I knew it would be even more quiet and smooth than the Malibu for less money! I knew Chevy would make a better deal on the Impala that had a sticker of $36K. I said I wanna drive this one. I didn’t even drove off the lot and I was in love. And I still am over 3 a half years later. I didn’t even know I was driving the 2.5 4 Cylinder model. I was like NO Way! The car is eager to go and gets 23mpg average and it has start/stop feature. I just hit 13K and now the Start/Stop is working more in the cooler months were the first 3 winters it never stopped running. I think I know why now. This was to help with the Break in of the engine. I did want push button Start and Heated Seats but it wasn’t deal breaker as I had this giant Pano Roof and 4G LTE WIFI Car Play and Android Auto. Great Back up camera, And so much room interior and trunk. I made an offer of $24K no trade. I was in shock when the sales man came back and said $25..7K I didn’t think they’d go below $29K. Now I knew the car was mine and I counter offered $25K he said we can have it ready in 2 hours! And they Did! I added the ceramic Coating with Lifetime warranty from scratch/dings, window crack, interior rips, or fades. I said this is a NO Brainer! ANd Transferable for 7 full years to second owners. I still cannot believe this is a 4 cylinder car. High Compression Engine. The sad part of owning this car is the Service Dept. who don’t know how to treat good customers. 3 new cars and they could careless. If you ask a question always a smart remark. I do service with GMC/Buick around the corner who treat customers with respect. It’s not hard to Smile and say Thank You.

      The Honda Accord sold an average of over 300,000 per year through out the 2010’s Decade... The Impala averaged roughly 100,000 INCLUDING FLEET SALES. Honda does not sell their cars to rental companies. That is why GM is giving up. Because Honda, Toyota, and Nissan are just overall the better reliable option.

My only major complaint were the overly contoured/lumpy seats which were some of the most uncomfortable I’ve ever sat in, and would prevent me from ever owning one. Torturous seats aside, disappointed to see it go.

Love full size cars, makes the ride so nice and the V6 purrs like a kitten when cruising. I guess there is always the Charger. Toyota Avalon is V6, but the styling does not do it for me.

      You have the exact same thinking that I do!! My dad owned a 97 Caddy STS with the Northstar (shockingly he said it was super reliable car) when I was a kid, and that's how I fell in love with full-size sedans. My grandpa drove a '10 Taurus and I always loved the comfy cabin and driving as well.
      I drive a 2014 Impala LT in this same Red with 84k kilometers on it and it is the BEST car I've EVER driven thus far in my lifetime.. I feel like you'd have to spend lots of money to get a comparable ride quality.

      I agree wholeheartedly with your thinking. Who wants a little 4 cylinder turbo when they could have the raw yet efficient power of an na V6? I still drive a 2011 Dodge Avenger 3.6L everyday and it has treated me very well, even with 186,000 miles on it now. I am considering buying one of these gorgeous 2020 Impalas to replace it soon. First I had my eye on Chargers, but so much reading and real world experience shows the way most Chargers are driven by their owners and it just turns me off to think of buying one that has been beat on daily. Maybe I'm wrong... 🤷

We had one of these as a rental when they were first introduced and it wasn’t a bad car I really enjoyed it. These are all over rental lots, and will continue to be driven around for years, because they aren’t bad cars. I still wouldn’t buy one though, I’m not a huge fan of the rear end.

However, I live in the Northeast and resent the fact that they only come with summer tires in the SS model. I'll be dammed if I'll go and buy another set of tires for $1,000 after just paying $42,000 or more for a car.

    I have a 2015 model and i love it. It makes me sad to see them discontinue it. There are a few things i would change about it though. The transmission is a bit dated and an AWD option would be nice. It has lots of power but with only FWD you have to be careful off the line. What i would really like to see the most though is for them to revive the Impala as a sports sedan. They could put it on the Camaro's Alpha platform and offer all the same engine/transmission options. So a base 4 cylinder all the way up to a V8.
    The reason sedans are dying off is because they have become boring. People look at sedans and crossovers and since both of them are boring they just go with the one that is more practical. So the solution is to make sedans more interesting. You can do that through styling and performance. So if you offer the Impala with a V8 then lots of people will buy the base car with the hopes of looking like they own a V8 car. Just like they do with the Camaro/Mustang/Challenger.

    * REAR drive!!!!!!!!!
    * 20" Rims to fill in the wheelwells better,
    * Slightly bigger rubber in back,
    * Slightly more lift in the rear,
    * The electronic/magnetic shocks as an option,
    * Exhaust-doors,
    * Mild Recaro-like seats (optional??),
    * Beefy Leather-wrapped T-handle (!!!!) shift handle,
    * Reworked Steering-wheel (possibly flat-bottomed?)
    * Cushier Leather door uppers, with a stylin' "SS" embroidery,
    * Actual FOG-LIGHTS on lower Grill!!!!
    * Possible subtle ground-effects pkg.,
    * Rear Spoiler...a little more prominent,
    * Black or Chrome wheels,
    * Blacked-out model badging with red edging, & blackout window-trim.
    THIS would be an ideal " IMPALA-SS" for THIS Guy!

I don't understand as to why GM had stopped putting the original Impala emblem flags and I keep hearing rumors that this year is suppose to be the last year for Impala's why would GM would want to do that Impala has been around for about six decades actually since 1958 but other than that Thank You for posting Gold Pony and take care.
