Even when Greg isn't there, his parents still don't go out of their way for him like they do his siblings and everybody else and he has been dealt the shittiest hand of them all (hence the name of the show). Chris always gets the most responsibility, the most punishments, etc but the least attention, the least understanding, the least of anything and everything good. I'd feel some type of way, too. I remember Rochelle had to get on Julius' case because he didn't help Chris with his Earth day project but yet in another episode, he gave Drew tickets to go the movies and Tonya money to go see the Statue of Liberty with her class.
That's a common theme in the show all the way up to the title "Everybody hates Chris" he's almost always get the short stick. Chris is the eldest child who's father is working or sleeping and thus they lay a lot of the responsibility on Chris's shoulders. Not saying it's right it is what it is. I can also understand Rochelle's side of things She cooks,cleans and raised/nurtured her kids in her own weird way. With Greg it's simply hospitality and making sure your guests are as comfortable as they can be not even Drew or Tanya could get away with some of things Greg could while staying over.
